Teenage brothers Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) move with their mother (Dianne Wiest) to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edward (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander), the angst-ridden Michael soon falls for Star (Jami Gertz) -- who turns out to be in thrall to David (Kiefer Sutherland), leader of a local gang of vampires. Danny Lupo (Mark Wahlberg), manager of the Sun Gym in 1990s Miami, decides that there is only one way to achieve his version of the American dream: extortion. To achieve his goal, he recruits musclemen Paul (Dwayne Johnson) and Adrian (Anthony Mackie) as accomplices. After several failed attempts, they abduct rich businessman Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub) and convince him to sign over all his assets to them. But when Kershaw makes it out alive, authorities are reluctant to believe his story.
To think that this movie is based on a true story is quite shocking. A great cast that brings these troubled characters to life. Their plans keep changing as they abduct a rich business man after they unsuccessfully try to extort money from him. You get to see how each character deals with the pressure of pulling off this plan that is slowly unraveling. Greed can make you overstep yourself and these men are in a sinking ship. What some people will do and are willing to do will be the deciding factor for these troubled men.

Sandra Bullock gave a brilliant performance as Leigh Anne Tuohy. It was so heartwarming to see Michael make something of himself despite his difficult beginnings. He never lost faith and made his dreams come true thanks to the love and support of this amazing woman. A touching story based on the life experiences of football player Michael Oher.

Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) walked the mile with a variety of cons. He had never encountered someone like John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), a massive black man convicted of brutally killing a pair of young sisters. Coffey had the size and strength to kill anyone, but not the demeanor. Beyond his simple, naive nature and a deathly fear of the dark, Coffey seemed to possess a prodigious, supernatural gift. Paul began to question whether Coffey was truly guilty of murdering the two girls.
What a moving story brought to light by the talents of Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan. It was touching to see how Paul wanted to delve deeper to find out if John truly had it in him to kill these innocent young sisters. All you need is for one person to believe in you but will it be enough for John?

This movie was so intense and kept me riveted to my seat till the very end. So much tragedy and unexpected revelations will keep the suspense till the end of the movie. The storyline is so well developed that only realize what is going on towards the end of the movie and then you will be so shocked.

An interesting movie that was full of intrigue and suspenseful till the every end of the movie. A love story that defies the ravages of war. I can't imagine how terrifying life must have been at that time in history. It was like watching history come to life. Both Melanie Griffith and Michael Douglas brought these riveting and inspiring characters to life.

Mike Church is a Los Angeles private detective who specializes in finding missing persons. He takes on the case of a mystery woman who he calls Grace. She is suffering from amnesia and has no memories of her own. She keeps having nightmares involving the murder of a pianist, Margaret, by her husband Roman Strauss in the late 1940s. In an attempt to solve the mystery about these nightmares, Church seeks the help of Madson who is an antiques dealer with the gift of hypnosis. The hypnosis sessions will soon begin to reveal some surprises.
I just had to check out this movie with the talented Emma Thompson. A murder/mystery that is suspenseful and will leave you on the edge of your seat wondering who did what to whom. It was an interesting movie that kept you guessing till the very end. Great performances by the then husband/wife team Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh.
