I tried NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Bangkok, a medium pink that make lips look like they're naturally pink. It's an easy shade to wear and would look pretty against any skin colour. It feels moisturizing for a matte lipstick but I like to layer it with a lip balm for extra moisture and for the lipstick to blend in/sheer out especially if I'm only wearing a light layer. If you're going for a strong look, I'd wear it without any lip balm so I get the most colour. There is 2g of long lasting lipstick packaged in a sleek black tube, and although it is $30CAD I think it's worth the splurge if you're a fan of matte lipsticks.

I've used about 3 tubes of Lancome Cils Booster XL because it helps create very dramatic eyelashes and keeps my mascara from smudging. It lengthens so well and helps seperate lashes so they don't get clumpy when I apply my mascara. With some volumizing mascaras, I find that the mascara base can sometimes lessen the thickening effect and I only get the lengthening properties-- so that is something to watch out for. I will continue to repurchase Cils Booster XL because it helps my mascara last all day! -

Benefit's Garden of Good and Eva is a light citrusy floral scent and is great for the summer. The packaging is really nice, especially the cute box it comes in and it's obvious a lot of thought went into the bottle design and packaging. The scent doesn't linger and isn't overwhelming. I don't normally like florals because I think they're very "old lady" but I really like this one and will continue using it. It's a modern floral with a fun twist and I'm sure many people will like it. I would recommend this to anyone who likes light floral scents or looking for a new summer perfume.

Lise Watier Feline Mascara HD drastically lengthened eyelashes without clumping but didn't provide any noticeable volume. I liked that the mascara had a very dark black formula but it smudged a lot and was difficult to remove the racoon eyes throughout the day. I would not recommend this mascara because it smudged a lot even though it creates really long, pretty lashes. If this mascara didn't migrate, I think this may have been my new favourite! -

I tried Yves Saint Laurent Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder in #2 Copper Sand, the medium shade out of the 3 colour choices. It is a sheer, slightly shimmery bronzer that doesn't look orange. For a YSL product, I expected more out of its packaging. It's not bad-- the bronzer is housed in a simple, clean brown compact that felt a bit fragile. It's what I would expect to see at a drugstore instead of something glamorous from a highend line. It's a nice bronzer but I don't think its really exceptional and for $50CAD, it is quite expensive for what you get. If you are looking for a new bronzer, take a look at this one to see if it works for you!

L'Oreal Paris Colorist Secrets Shine Gloss is a hair treatment similar to a hair dye (developer treatment) that doesn't deposit any colour but just a glossy coating. I noticed my hair was softer and a bit shinier and helped the appearance of my drier ends. I have uncoloured hair past my shoulders and I easily used up the whole solution but I felt with more, I could have coated my hair better. Those with very long hair may want to pick up 2 boxes of Shine Gloss to try out. I would recommend this treatment to anyone looking to temporarily improve the condition and appearance of their hair.

I never used an epilator before trying out the Braun Braun Silk-epil Xpressive (7281 Wet & Dry Body System) and I anticipated the worse. When I turned it on, the 'wheels' starting spinning so quickly it was all a blur and it produced a really loud screeching noise! I decided to just go for it and it really wasn't that bad! I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't hurt much and just felt like little pricks. I think this had to do with the Massaging Cap which according to Braun, "stimulates the skin before and soothe it after hair removal to clearly reduce the pain sensation" (and of course because I expected it to be really, really painful).
Some of my favourite features:
1. The pivoting head which follows the contours of the body making the whole hair removal process easy.
2. I liked that the epilator was cordless so I can bring and use it anywhere. This is especially great for vacations-- just have it fully charged and you're good to go!
3. The Wet & Dry Hairlift System is a new innovation in epilating because it will remove even the short, fine hairs lying flat against skin. Since this epilator is waterproof, I can use it in the shower and really clean it out after I'm done.
4. The SmartLight feature is like a really bright mini flashlight that guides the epilator. It's incredibly useful because it reveals every single hair!
An Efficiency Cap is also included which allows me to epilate a larger area at one time. This cap doesn't have the massaging function so it's a bit more painful in comparison.
Another great bonus is the shaver head and trimmer cap can be attached to the body of the epilator which is good for bikini and long-hair trimming.
On a full charge (about 60 minutes), I get 40 minutes of usage. Also included with the epilator are Olay Pre-Epilation Wipes, charger, cleaning brush, and carrying pouch.
Overall, I found the handle to be very comfortable and easy to hold. I also think it's really cute especially the white plastic which has shimmer and glitter in it. I'm impressed that epilating is so easy and not at all as painful as I've heard, especially once you get used to it and your follicles are weakened. It lasts much longer that shaving (but just as easy to do) and isn't as messy as waxing. I really like that with epilating, I see finer hair regrowth and less hair overtime. I would recommend this to anyone new to epilating and even those who are already fans of the epilator. It's a bit expensive but it's a great investment and completely worth it! The Braun Silk-epil Xpressive has lots of great new features you have to try out and it's not painful to use!

I tried this Yves Saint Laurent Water-Resistant Eye Shadow in #5 Golden Sands, a metallic shimmering gold colour. It is a very sparkly eyeshadow and works great with any other eye shadow colour. It is water-resistant and doesn't fade or rub off until you use a makeup remover which is perfect for hot summers and long days. The only drawback was that it's application isn't very smooth and because it dries very quickly, I often get patches of colour in some areas of no eye shadow in other parts.
I received a sample of this eye shadow for testing from the brand.

L'Oreal Elnett Satin hairspray has the finest hairspray mist I've ever tried so it's perfect for everyday use especially to hold down flyaways. Because it's so fine, you don't have to worry about overspraying and caushing your hair to weigh down or clump/harden up. Elnett is also buildable so if you're looking for lots of volume and hold for more extreme hairstyles, it works great too! The only thing I didn't like was the unpleasant scent. I found that when the hairspray interacted with heat (blow dryer, hair straightener) it was only more offensive but it did fade after a few hours. Overall I would recommend this hairspray to anyone because it is so versatile.

I tried Mary Kay Liquid Lip Color in Sherbet and I'm very impressed with its colour payoff. It's not drying and has a light minty scent. It truly is a liquid lipstick (very opaque) and great if you're going for a bold lip look. I would recommend this to anyone who likes the look of lipstick but wants the feel of a balm/lip gloss. I've never been interested in direct selling cosmetic brands but after trying this, I'm looking forward to trying other products from Mary Kay!
