When I was looking for a facial cleansing tool brush, I was debating between the Clarisonic and this Foreo LUNA mini. I finally opted for this brush after reading tons of research and reviews and I do not regret a single bit of my purchase. Not only I don't have to buy refill brushes every now and then, I only need to charge it two or three times a year. Foreo LUNA is also travel friendly which is great for someone who needs to fly quite often. I love this cleansing brush so much that I even bought my SO one as well to clear his acne prone skin. After using it for a couple of years now, I feel this product improved my skin with time because it cleanses my face better than my hands. I also think that the vibration movement gave my skin a daily massage that my hands were not able to achieve without this device.
I highly recommend this cleansing brush for those who are looking for a long term investment tool because it is a one time purchase unlike the Clarisonic brush. If you are not convinced that you don't need to change the device here and then because of the possible bacteria on it, you can wash the device everytime you finish using it. That's what I do and it's been working for me so far!

When I buy basic clothing such as a plain v-neck tee, I want them to be in good quality enough to last me awhile without buying a new one every now and then. Uniqlo sells exactly that: quality basic clothing for both men, women and children. I used to buy my basics wherever it is cheap but then I realize the cost per wear justifies enough to get quality basics in my wardrobe. I really love Uniqlo v-neck cotton shirts enough that I have a couple of them in different colors. I have them for a couple of years now and they still look in top shape without having to baby them with care. I also recommend their heat tech collection for the cold seasons because they really do keep you warm without bulking your style. I can only vouch for their undershirts from that collection though. I find their heat tech socks for women don't last during winter because I had holes in them after three months of use. I don't know if the problem is within my boots or if the socks have a poorer quality material, but I definitely won't be repurchasing those.
Side note: Even though Uniqlo is a Japanese brand, not everything in the store are made in Japan unlike Muji (a household lifestyle store).

Muji is a great lifestyle store that carries all kinds of household items with a minimalist design. I love getting my office supplies as well as my cosmetic cottons and sheet mask capsules from Muji because their products are made in Japan so you know there is quality in their items. For example, they make amazing gel ink pens with refillable ink so you can refill your pen at your will's content instead of buying a new pen every single time. Not only they write very well, the Japanese have well thought of this ecological process before selling them out to the masses. I wish more pen companies go on that route as well because then there will be less waste in our planet that way.
I'm glad Toronto finally has a Muji store that can satisfy my household needs and I'm hoping they will expand to the rest of Canada making their items more accessible to Canadians.

I love getting my underwear from Victoria's Secret because they make really good boy shorts that are so comfortable. They might be expensive for one panty but during their semi-annual sales, which is twice a year, they are very affordable. I'm not the type to buy fancy underwear but if I am very comfortable with them, I feel like I can conquer the world better. As for their bras and their lounge wear, I am not a fan of them because their bras seem to fit me oddly and their lounge wear is quite average in terms of design in my opinion. I get my bras/bralettes from Aritzia instead and my lounge wear from miscellaneous stores.
I recently heard rumors that VS might accept underwear returns and put it back in the store to sell. This might not be news to others but this might affect where I will shop in the future... Remember to wash your new underwear purchases before wearing them, ladies!

Murale sells high end cosmetics with a wide range of selection that you may not find in Sephora. For me, if Sephora and Murale sells the same product that I am looking for, I would always buy from Murale over Sephora if it is not during a sale event. Murale, which is a part of Shoppers Drug Mart, has a better loyalty program than Sephora which allows you to redeem points for cash value. Sephora only allows you to get deluxe samples and it bugs me how unattractive that is compared to the Optimum program. With that aside, they now carry great natural skincare that might interest some of you such as Tata Harper or Eve Lom to name a few examples. Another reason why I like Murale over Sephora is because you don't need to ask for samples; the SA just gives you a bag of them because they are generous like that. I find that kind of marketing is better because the more products you try, the better you know which ones work for you best before committing to a purchase of a full product.
Sidenote: You can also buy some of their brands online from their Beauty Boutique but other brands might be available in store only. The Optimum program will work there as well!

SDM is definitely my go-to place to buy drugstore cosmetics for my SO and myself. They might price themselves sightly higher than other places but their Optimum point system is one of the best ones right now in Canada. So when you combine their sale prices with your Optimum offers, I do believe their prices can be very affordable to the masses. I have been collecting points for several years now and I always wait until the mega redemption point events to reedem my points!
SDM has a great selection of drugstore cosmetics compare to other drugstores like Rexall or London Drugs in my opinion so that's why I tend to shop there more often. The only thing that I would love SDM to carry are Asian cosmetics as Korean/Japanese/Taiwanese beauty are getting more and more popular with the public. Everyone is searching the latest product that will make them achieve that glowing skin and I don't know why Loblaws, their parent company, did not make any move towards that industry yet. I believe it will attract more customers so if you are reading this Loblaws, please make Asian cosmetics more available in Canada!!!

This bird's nest mask is basically a hydrating and nourishing mask making your skin baby soft after using it. Yes bird's nest might make you think of bird's spit but within Asian culture, bird's nest is a great ingredient for healthy skin and body. Asians make soup or drinks with bird's nest and they are not cheap at all. Indeed, it is a luxury if you can afford to drink bird's nest soup on a daily basis. On the other hand, My Beauty Diary makes this mask very affordable to the masses without compromising results. I don't know how much bird's nest is in this mask but this product definitely made my skin supple and soft while hydrating my skin. There is also leftover essence from the package that I like to put on my neck and hands afterwards. You should not omit your neck and hands in terms of hydration because those areas tend to age faster than your face! -

Reddit is a forum based website where anyone can talk about anything and everything. I learned a lot about skincare and makeup from one of the subreddit (which means sub-category) because I feel like sales associates from retail store tend to up-sell their own brand and not really helpful in terms of catering one's skincare needs. So I go to this subreddit to read the latest skincare/makeup news or about ingredients instead of staying loyal to a brand unless it really works for my skin. Skincare is so personal to one to another and I feel like there is no one good answer.
In other hands, you can find any interest of yours on Reddit and learn/chat with other people around the world. Just be careful on what you write there; not everyone has the same sense of humor as you for example. Stay humble and enjoy the community!

My Beauty Diary make great affordable sheet masks that are drenched with essence. Taiwanese beauty brands are not hyped as much as Korean or Japanese ones but I do believe they are just as good as their competitors. Plus unlike Korean's recent mask sanitary issues, the well-known Taiwanese sheet mask brands are known for their sanitary standards and My Beauty Diary is one of the safe brands to count on. I use this citrus firming and clarifying sheet mask at night because vitamin A aka retinol is one of the ingredients in this mask. Vitamin A helps with signs of aging and firms the skin, making it prone to sun exposure damage if you use this ingredient during the day. After using this mask, I do feel my skin more firm than before and most important of all, very hydrated from the generous essence from this mask. I suggest to use this mask within the recommended time because it could be drying if you leave it too long. I can say this with experience because if you leave the mask too long, the hydration you got from the mask will backfire on your skin, making your skin dryer than before. -

I am a huge fan of Leaders mask because they actually deliver results within an affordable price. This Insolution Mela-Tox Skin Clinic mask helps even skin tone while brightening and hydrating the skin. After using it after a rough week of work, I feel my face softer and revitalized from signs of fatigue. I have dark pigmentation skin concerns from either acne or sun exposure so I do use brightening masks quite often during the year. After leaving it for a half an hour (ten minutes more than the recommended time), the mask is still very moist on your face and there are lots of leftover essence remaining in the mask package. I put the leftover essence on my neck and my hands because I don't want to waste a single drop of that good stuff! One thing that might turn off people from using this mask would be its marketing advertising of "whitening the skin," but honestly, this kind of marketing only works in Asia where both men and women are chasing this whitening glowing skin. This mask will not make you more white but it will even and brighten your skin tone at most. -
