I'm a Canadian, a retired Boomer, an empty-nester, an avid gardener, a craft artist, a down-home style cook and baker, amateur photographer, and crazy cat lady.I am pro human rights: Women's rights (and equality), pro Children's rights, pro LGBTQ2 (etc) rights, pro religious rights, pro civil rights and equality. I have been called "a crazy left wing, tree hugging, hippy dippy freak" as if that was an insult. I have been active online since 1994. I battle debilitating chronic illness that has left me quite housebound for the past few decades. I write articles for support group newsletters as well as blogging about Life In The Slow Lane. I am active in several online support groups, and have work with support groups online and off since 1981. In my "real world" pre-retirement work I was a Heritage Resource Management Specialist, working with and for local governments in both paid and volunteer positions along with running a local small museum for several years. I hold a BA/BSC (BA) in Anthropology with full major equivalents in the areas of Psychology, Geography and Sociology, with a year of post-grad studies in the filed of Social Welfare.
