"Honey I Washed the Kids" is a handmade soap from Lush infused with honey, bergamot and sweet orange, topped with a layer of beeswax on top. When I purchased this soap, I wanted something that would moisturize and sooth my sensitive skin, and since this has honey, citrus and aloe in it, I thought it was going to do the trick. Apart from the great ingredients, the scent totally won me over. It is light and sweet, almost good enough to eat!
The soap is very dense, unlike your regular bar of drugstore soap, which is really just a detergent that strips your skin of essential moisture. I like the amount of lather this produces and it feels so smooth against the skin and has the right amount of slip. Since it is a dense soap, it has lasted me longer than the average drugstore brand. The benefits I've noticed after using Honey I Washed the Kids is that my skin feels very soft and moisturized afterwards.
As for the top layer of beeswax, I feel this is only for decorative purposes. It did not work as an exfoliator, which I thought it would be and it began to crumble off when the soap started to wear thin around the edge. Apart from that, I think this would be a great soap for every member of the family. The scent isn't overpowering (unfortunately it doesn't linger on the skin) and it is mild enough for sensitive skin types.

I was having a few minor breakouts that were really bothering me especially in the chin and forehead area, but I wanted a gentle product for my sensitive skin, something that wouldn't worsen the blemishes. I decided to go with the Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser. The label says it is meant for acne prone skin and contains salicylic acid and moisture-rich soy extracts and promises clear, even looking skin. It is mainly meant for those with dry skin, which I tend to have in the winter months, which is when I tried this.
I've used this on a daily basis for almost a month and a half. The blemishes did seem to get better, but unfortunately, it did not prevent them from returning. The foam cleanser is extremely light and easy to wash your face with and I used two pumps at a time to wash my entire face. It washes off very easily from the skin and doesn't leave any residue and I like the fresh scent and the glow it gives to the skin. It does give a radiant glow.
However, although it says to work for dry skin, I did not find this to be true for myself. After a few minutes of washing my face, I would feel my skin tightening, sometimes unbearably and my forehead and cheek area just kept getting drier. Therefore, I don't think it is as moisturizing as they advertised. The pump also gets stuck and you have to keep pressing it to make it pop out again.
I didn't give this an entirely negative rating simply because I did like the glow it gave to my skin, but not the dryness. You just need to moisturize well after using it. This might work wonders for others, but to me it will be an average face wash.

The E.L.F. Candy Shop Lip Tins are so cute and affordable (only $1.00 each!) and they are one of my favorite lip balms up to date. The tins come with a sliding lid which stays put unless you open it and it comes in a variety of flavors/shades. I consider these to be more of a lip balm than a gloss mainly because they are not as sticky, but blend nicely onto the lips. They leave a nice tint, which doesn't make you look overdone. I love the scents and how long lasting they are on the lips. My favorite shades are Mocha Manic, which leaves a golden sheen and Melon Mayhem, which has a peachy tint to it. I find the best way to apply it is with a lip brush, otherwise it can get messy. Very practical to carry in your purse because of its small size, yet there is enough product to last you quite a while. -

I came across the Aziza LipGloss at the dollar store and decided to try it because the colors seemed really pretty and it didn't hurt that it was only $1.00! I got a translucent pink shade, a shimmery beige, a shimmery lavender and a mauve/burgandy and a red shade. I am pretty much pleased with all of them, but the lavender shade is sooo pretty on my lips. I noticed that the texture is very moisturizing and the shine it gives off is incredible. They are also well pigmented, except for the translucent shades which go on clear. They can each be worn alone or over a lipstick to compliment its color. The sizes of the tubes vary, but the packaging is basically a squeeze tube for each of them. The problems I did come across were actually with the packaging and not with the gloss itself. Some glosses were harder to squeeze out than others and when I squeeze the smaller tubes, too much gloss come out. I haven't had problems with the gloss drying out, but they can separate in the tube. However, I tried gently massaging it and it goes back to normal. Other than that, I think they are worth another try. -

I had coupons to try out the Annabelle Le Gloss so I decided to try them out. I got mine in the shades Rose Reflex - a frosty, mauvy pink, and SuperStar - a nude/beige, shimmery gloss. The regular price for these lipglosses was $5.99 CAD. When I saw the Rose Reflex shade, I thought it was so pretty and that it would be as pigmented as it looked in the tube, however, when I tried it at home, I was a little disappointed to find that it went on pretty sheerly, however, it did give them a nice, natural tint of color and shine, which is good for spring. The SuperStar goes on clear on the lips, but you do notice the shimmer.
When worn on their own, they feel a little too sticky/tacky for my taste, so lately I've been only using them on top of my lipstick and I love this combination instead. They make the lipstick look shiny and the SuperStar shade gives it the added shimmer that really helps highlight the center of the lips, making them look fuller. In terms of the stickiness, when it is on top of a lipstick, I don't seem to have the same problem. It blends in quite well with the creaminess of the lipstick.
Another positive aspect to this gloss is its packaging. The fact that it comes in a squeezable tube makes it possible to get all of the gloss out. The tube does come with a sponge tip applicator, so it doesn't create a mess on your lips. I would probably buy these again if they were on sale and would only use them over lipsticks. It's an average product, but if they work on the pigmentation and stickiness, it would be great.

I really like the Avon Glazewear Lipglosses and have purchased quite a few of them, however Darling Pink stands out as my favorite shade. I keep reaching for this one over and over again and think it is a great pinky/nude tone that would suit many people. The pigmentation in these lipglosses is spectacular and they could almost pass as lipsticks if it weren't for its packaging. The tubes are of a good size and I feel that the amount of lipgloss is substantial. In addition, I enjoy how there are a range of colors to choose from, including a shimmery gold shade which works well at highlighting the center of the lips.
Although I like how the gloss smoothly glides onto the lips, I find that it can get a little too sticky, especially if you apply too much. It did keep my lips moisturized though and the color lasts quite a long time.

The Setting Fx Translucent Powder from Cover Fx is a great addition to any foundation routine. It was recommended to me by a cosmetologist since I have rosacea prone sensitive skin. This product is so gentle on the skin and you hardly feel as though you have put it on. The powder is very finely milled which blends into the skin seamlessly. You can hardly tell that you have powdered your face and it will certainly not settle into fine lines. The setting powder is oil free and non-comedogenic, so it will not clog pores. Great for oily and sensitive skin.
The price is pretty expensive (approximately $35), but it will last you a lifetime! The jar is pretty big and all you need is a little dab of the brush. Just make sure to tap the excess off. This will be enough to set your cream or liquid foundation. The powder comes in many shades, so it will be very easy to match one to your skin tone.
The only negative aspect to this product is that when you open the cap, the powder can fall out. I suggest tapping the cap prior to opening it so that any powder that has settled in it can fall back into the sifter.

Mary Kay Eyesicles Eye Color is a creme to powder eyeshadow that comes in a tube and is meant to be applied with your finger onto your lid. When I first got it, I thought the price was a little expensive for the amount you get (I paid mine $12.00 and purchased it through a representative, but I'm sure you can also find these on ebay). However, when I used the product, I was so glad I purchased it and it is definitely a great investment. One little tube will last a very long time as you don't need to use very much.
The tubes come in two different shades: Island Bronze and Vanilla. I purchased mine in vanilla but was also given a trial sample of the bronze color. I adore the vanilla shade!! It is absolutely gorgeous and would suit most skin tones. It makes a great browbone highlighter, or can also be used on the lid, which I did and loved. The bronze color is better used to define the crease or the outer V.
I found the consistency of the creme shadow to be very smooth and it glides on perfectly, without drying out too quickly or becoming patchy on the lid. It is also pigmented enough so that you can use it on it's own, or as a base for your powdered eyeshadows. However, since this does turn into a powder-like texture on the lids, I left it as is. I applied this with my finger, but also used a small tipped brush to define the inner tear duct area. The creme shadow also blended easily with other powdered shadows and cream shadows as well.
I get tons of compliments when wearing this on my lids. so I know that it is a definite keeper!

I purchased the E.L.F. Kabuki Face Brush a while ago and I am so glad I did. This is the softest kabuki brush I have ever come across! However, although it is soft, this does not mean that it is poorly made. The hairs/fibres are placed densely enough, but at the same time, have a flexibility to them that makes blending a breeze. Apart from the fact that it is super cheap in price (valued at $5.00, but I got a 75% discount), it is very professional looking, you would never have believed it was from E.L.F. I find that the brush is the perfect size for blending out blush or powder and leaves you face with a flawless look. It has been very easy to clean and hasn't shed once. I am very impressed with its quality and effectiveness. -

I really like the Nivea Visage Gentle Toner and find it isn't too harsh on my sensitive skin. Although I wash my face every evening, I always make sure to swipe it extra clean with this toner. It removes all of the extra dirt and makeup that my soap wasn't able to remove on its own and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. This hasn't dried out my skin and I don't get the overly tightened feeling that some toners can leave behind since it doesn't contain any alchohol. I also like the scent which is very light and fresh. I would say that there is enough toner in the bottle to last for about 2-3 months if used every single day. A great buy! -
