This is my first time reviewing a recipe, but I love that ChickAdvisor has the option. I am reviewing Chocolate Chip Muffins by user Janice on AllRecipes.com, link below.
I was searching for a quick and simple chocolate chip muffin recipe to make for my boyfriend when I came across this one. The directions were simple, ingredients were manageable, and overall prep and cook time short. After gathering my ingredients, I began to mix the batter as directed. Now, this was my first time making muffins, but I realized immediately that something wasn't right. The batter was very, very thick and sticky - not like a thick cake batter as it should have been, but more like raw cookie dough! I added an egg and some milk, as advised by my Mom who is a baker, and the batter was still not quite right. Comments on the original recipe mentioned the same issue - and solution!
I managed to scoop the batter in to cups for baking, though, and decided to go with it. The photos from the recipe looked delicious, and I was already this far in. The recipe says to liberally sprinkle a mixture of 3TBSP white sugar/2TBSP brown sugar atop each cup. Bake time was 20-25 minutes, and I set a timer for checking at 10 and 15 minutes in. I am so glad I did - because the thick batter baked and rose so quickly that I pulled them out fully baked at 13 minutes!
I served fresh and warm as suggested and my boyfriend gave his approval! Overall they were tasty, but two things deterred me from this recipe: the muffins caramelize to the wrappers due to the sugary sprinkle, and the next day are very rubbery.
I think there are better alternatives, but these were fun to make - and eat if you microwave with butter to soften them to an edible consistency.

I love that Summer Fresh includes the recipe on the packaging, so you can guarantee you are getting a fresh, natural product - and so you can enjoy when you don't want to make a run to the store! Gluten and lactose free foods are typically... gross... but Summer Fresh somehow managed to create a product that is both free of Gluten and Lactose, and remains delicious! I buy this whenever it is on sale! -

I've even used this sauce as a dip for pizza bites and mozza sticks! Not the best quality or ingredients, but worth buying if you're a saver! -

It's a crowd-pleaser, and the Molson Canadian Cider Beer is no exception. If alcohol was marketed towards children, it would be this - it tastes like a grown up juice box.
You need to try this out, JD fan or not! Worth a try, worth a buy!

If you are a pickle lover, you NEED to try this vodka - especially in a ceasar! I found Birmingham's Dill Pickle Vodka while on vacation in Saskatchewan, CA. Immediately, I knew I had to try it out... being a fan of pickles on everything. Bitter on it's own, though all vodkas are, and magical when mixed in a ceasar or other cocktail. The coolest thing about this vodka is how it is presented in a mason jar mug that becomes a collectible after finishing your supply! However, for 45.00 a mason jar... this is definitely a one-try, one-buy product and more gimmick than anything! -

I've been to many Pet Valu locations, but have never received the quality of service that I did at the Prince Albert location. We took my parents mixed giant-breed puppy (he's already 160lbs at eight months!) for a self-serve bath and blow-dry. He doesn't do well on the leash, and embarrasingly knocked over two displays while making our way through the store to the bathing station. The women at the store laughed, were light-hearted and kind about the entire situation! They helped us calm our pup down, and even gave us a discount seeing as we struggled to wash him. They were insightful about techniques to help his anxiety, and truly cared about pets - and it showed!
Top notch service and two lovely employees made this the best Pet Valu experience I have ever had!

I can imagine they could be used as mini-pie top impressions, too! Bonus? The rubber stamps are removable from the wooden handles for easy cleaning! The rolling mat is sleek, stays put, and doesn't stick to dough or cause dough to break and crack. The cutters are cute, scalloped circles of various sizes and made of non-stick silicone plastic that doesn't 'pick up' your cookie after shaping.
