I've been using Marcelle's Essentials First Wrinkles eye cream for a couple weeks now and have been quite happy with it. Its a cute little dispenser pump that's easy to use, and no waste. Like all of Marcelle's products it is hypoallergenic and perfume free which is great since I occasionally have problems with some products on my face. The cream is supposed to reduce the first signs of wrinkles and revitalize skin. I wouold say that it is pretty effective at that. The cream feels nice and cool on the soft skin under my eyes, and doesn't burn like some other eye creams I've tried. It soaks in well, and I especially liked that when I put a little under eye concealer over top it blended in well and felt light and dewy still. For wrinkle reduction, I think it was pretty good, I'm in my late twenties, so wrinkles are just starting to sneak up on me, but this product made my eyes feel fresh. What I think I would change about the product, and this is just personal preference, I would like for it to have some spf protection. For me the idea of a "1st wrinkles" cream is appealing at my age, but prevention is almost more important than masking what wrinkles I have. So I think I would opt for a cream that had some preventative spf as well as some wrinkle masking all in one if I could find such a product (which is always the challenge, right?!) Maybe Marcelle has another product in the same line with the spf that I'm looking for? Anyways, for what the product is supposed to do I am pretty happy with it, and I will continue to use it happily. As for price point, its pretty decent, it is a 15ml container and I think that puts it in the pretty affordable range for eye creams for the size. -

I tried this new body wash that promises moisturized skin without having to do the lotion step after you shower. I was hoping that it would really be something different, but I found it to be just like any other body wash. The texture was a nice thick lather (using a puff) and it felt good using it, but the smell was a little old ladyish. The main thing is that I didn't find that it added any moisture to my skin in the week or two that I used it. I actually was a little itchy the first couple days I used it, but that could be unrelated. So overall I think it was just your average body wash, nothing really bad about it, but nothing stood out as being special about it either. I'd buy it again if it was the brand that was on sale that week! -

A friend recommended this to me when we were shopping together, so I gave it a try. I have always had hair that gets oily looking a day after shampooing, so finding something to stretch it to two days between shampoos was like the holy grail! I was pleasantly surprised by how light the product is, since my hair is pretty fine I didn't want to have something weigh down the hair even more than the oil. I just spray it into the roots where most of the oil is and then brush it through until my roots puff back up. I like the smell, and don't notice any powdery residue that I was worried I might see (my hair is a medium blonde colour). So overall I am very happy with the product! -

This cleanser isn't fancy, but it does a great job in getting rid of grease and oil and dirt, but doesn't strip out moisture. It has almost no smell, and won't irritate even the most sensitive of skin, I think it has a ph that is similar to your natural skin ph, so that's why it doesn't dry or sting. My boyfriend uses it too and he has suffered from bad acne in the past and swears by it as well. He has naturally very oily skin, whereas mine is naturally pretty dry, but the same stuff works well for both of us. Definitely worth a try if you want something gentle to balance your skin. -

Hey Lucy seems to have stuck around for a long time with its kitschy decor and cheap martinis on Wednesday nights. But I'd suggest skipping it all together. I used to go after work because it was the place people from that office just always went, but a few of us got to talking one day and all of us agreed it was really not a place that any of us liked! The cheap martinis are ok for a deal but a little watery, and the food is pretty blah, the 'wood fired' pizza that is supposed to be so good is pretty gross, I had a calzone once that was awful, and the only thing I really liked was the spring rolls, but they are the same almost anywhere. The washrooms are kind of gross, and I'm pretty sure the last time I used them I ended up standing next to an "unsavory character" waiting to wash my hands... I'd suggest you spend your money elsewhere since there are plenty of other little resto bars in the King West strip to try out. -

I originally stumbled upon this place before a musical when we wanted to grab some food and a couple cocktails. We sat at the bar and had great appetizers - which happened to be half price that day and a few cocktials. The Appleton's rep happened to be there and bought us a round of drinks on the house too which were some sort of a yummy rum punch. I had a warm goat cheese salad which was excellent and some chicken skewers which were also good. The place is pretty small, but when we went it was pretty empty, so I had never really gone back for almost a year I think because I usually like a livlier atmosphere. Until last week when a friend and I were wandering down King street and looking for a place for a drink and some music. Joe Mama's had some great music so we went in, and discovered an awesome live band who plays on Friday and Saturday nights called Sugga(h?). It was an awesome vibe and I will definitely stop in again. Lots of people were there and there was even a little dance floor going. I was pleasantly surprised and will go back again for sure on the weekends. -

I like this moisturizer because it is very light feeling on my skin, and has spf 15 sun protection. I use it daily and it wears well undermy makeup (though I don't wear foundation, just a bit of powder usually) I have tried a couple other Aveeno moisturizers and been quite happy with them as well because of the light feeling, and they haven't given me acne either. Its pretty good value for the money and worth giving a try. -

A friend of mine suggested I go here and I was not disappointed. Dr Haji is very friendly and personable, and you can tell just by talking to him that he really loves what he does. He explains everything to you and shows you on your own little tv screen all of the xrays and photos. Monica at the front desk is very friendly and quick and so are the awesome hygenists. Its the most high tech dentist I've been to and they really stress prevention and don't try to rack up unneccessary treatments. I've reccommended it to two of my frineds and they both have been very happy there as well. Plus you get to watch tv while they work :) -

This cute little place in Little Italy ( College and Grace st ) was something we stumbled upon because of the cheap pitchers sign outside - around $12 for a pitcher on certain nights! - and we've been back several times since. Its your basic thai food, very tasty, comparable to green mango etc. and the restaurant is super cute and intimate, a great spot for a casual date. We also get takeout there which has free delivery and you get free spring rolls or pad thai if you spend over a certain amount. The prices are quite good and the service is pretty friendly. Definitely a place I will continue to go to! -

If you are trying to stretch every penny and aren't too fussy about where you get your hair done you can save a lot of money by going to this school. They do all the services of regular salons, but they are done by students so the prices are dirt cheap. Its not a fancy place, but the students are encouraged to try to treat you to scalp massages and aromatherapy oils etc, and the cuts and colour treatments are all supervised by teachers with loads of experience. If you are the type who wants a stylist who will give you great advice and opinions of what to do, this isn't the place, most students are a little hesitant to do that. But if you have photos of what you want they generally do a good job of giving you what you want. The downside is that it takes a REALLY long time. Most appointments seem to be between 2 or 3 hours. I have been several times to a number of different students and have been pretty happy each time. If you're a Diva though it might not be the place for you :) -
