I received "The Falsies" mascara in black brown courtesy of the Product Review Club. I was really excited when I read positive initial reviews of this mascara, but I am really disappointed on how it performed on my own lashes.
First, a little background on my lashes: I have stick straight Asian lashes. My lashes aren't super short, but they lack volume and curl. Most non-waterproof mascaras do not hold the curl I get from my lash curler.
Now, on to the mascara. Where it excels is in the brush: the curved spoon-like brush really works best to reach to the tiniest of lashes in the inner corners of my eyes. I didn't experience any flaking or smudging throughout the day.
As far as the negatives go, I have a lot to say about The Falsies. First of all -- take note Maybelline! -- if you are trying to convince me that this'll give me that false lash like effect, you better send me the blackest black formula. I am a big fan of false lashes on myself, and this doesn't even come close. I found the formula to be okay -- a bit clumpy actually. Also, although there is still some semblance of a curl left after 2 coats of The Falsies, it is not enough for me to call it a curling mascara.
Compared to my usual volumizing mascara, L'Oreal Voluminous, I still prefer L'Oreal's mainly for its formula -- it is more wet so I find it easier to work with. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this mascara to a friend. I still prefer L'Oreal Voluminous when I am looking for a lot of volume for cheap.

This is my hair's crack in a bottle. I am obsessed with mine since I got it.
First of all, the smell is delicious. I like it so much that I sometimes (secretly) slather it all over my body. Also, it's a godsend for a wash-and-go kinda girl; it makes drying my hair super fast although I'm not really sure about the science behind it. I just know that it works on my hair. It makes it less tangled, straighter, and a little glossier.
Two downsides to this: the price (ridiculous! $36 for 100mL) and the packaging (glass). For a klutz like me, I have to take extra precaution not to hit the bottle off my vanity. So far, so good.

I bought the small bottle Face Atelier Ultra Foundation at IMATS Toronto last year. This is hands down the best foundation I have ever used.
This is a silicone-based foundation, which means it is designed to "float" on top of the skin as opposed to sinking into pores. It dries to a natural finish so it still looks like skin, not a mask. What I like most about this foundation is its versatility: you can either apply it sheer all the way to a medium-full coverage but it still feels like nothing.
If you've had trouble finding a foundation that matches your skin, Face Atelier also has Zero Plus and Zero Minus formulas to adjust your foundation colour -- lighter or darker -- to custom match your skintone.
It's quite expensive at CAD$40 , but well worth it in my opinion. A word of caution to those who are watching silicones though: this one is full of them.

For this review, I got to try out "Taupe Temptress" and "Spirited Seas." I don't buy a lot of drugstore eyeshadows because I prefer highly pigmented ones, and I don't usually find that in the drugstore.
Most of the eyeshadows in the palettes I received are very sparkly, but low in pigment. Note that I always use an eyeshadow base to prevent the colours from creasing, and I did get a little bit of creasing on these at the end of the day.
"Taupe Temptress" gave me a gorgeous romantic look as it applied more sheer than it appeared on the pan. The result was a no-fail blended look. I tried a more dramatic look from "Spirited Seas", but because of the pigmentation I had to use another eyeshadow to bump up the look a bit. Using the palette alone, I failed to create a dramatic look.
Overall, I prefer a more complete palette with shimmers and mattes. I wouldn't recommend these because it is all very sparkly, which is great in moderation, but not so great as a full eye look.

This is a great drugstore eyeliner. It comes with a smudger tip at the end for more smoked out lines, which is how I wear it.
I like many things about this liner. First, it glides on like butter which means no tugging. Once smudged, it stays on in place. I wouldn't recommend it for the waterline though, it isn't meant for that. For lining lash lines, this one wins in my book. I have it in Slate Grey, and it is great for work or a natural makeup day.
I definitely recommend this eyeliner. It is great as a base under eye shadows to intensify their colour, but also as a basic starter eyeliner. Love!

This mascara is supposed to do 3 things: volumize, lengthen, and darken. I'm a drugstore mascara kinda girl, so for $24 it better deliver.
The truth is, it volumizes and darkens well, but falls short with the lengthening. Plus, it doesn't hold a lash curl. For someone who has short-ish lashes, I need my mascara to hold a curl so you can actually see my lashes. But this one fails to do so.
It is very similar to my beloved L'Oreal Voluminous actually, and I put both to the test side by side. You can't even tell which one is which. If you want a volumizing mascara, go try Voluminous instead. But if you want volume and length and curling, this isn't what you're looking for.

I have used Vaseline lotions in the past and am a big believer in their effectiveness, so I had high hopes for this one.
I don't usually lotion for three reasons: 1) I'm too lazy, or 2) I'm running late, or 3) my lotion doesn't smell great. So when I got a whiff of Vaseline Sheer Infusion in Vitamin, I was excited to try it. The scent isn't overpowering. It is just a subtle citrusy that is great as a pick-me-up first thing in the morning.
The texture of this lotion is the best of all that I've tried. It is moisturizing enough without the grease factor. It absorbs into the skin quickly, which is fantastic for someone on the go.
Before using this lotion I've been getting flaky, itchy legs, especially after shaving. I have not experienced any itchiness since using this. That's pretty incredible!
Would I buy this again? Yes I would! Vaseline makes great lotions and this is just another one that is on the top of my list.

This is the absolute best face powder ever! I use this to set my foundation or concealer, and it provides a low natural coverage with a natural matte finish. It doesn't feel like anything on your skin. For CDN $30, it's a bit of a luxury, but there is a lot of product in the compact as it is baked with a dome top.
It is also great to touch up after blotting the oilies after a long day. If you want a lot of coverage I wouldn't recommend this, but to set your makeup, this is as good as it gets. Highly recommended!

I went to try out Extreme Fitness at Yonge / Dundas with a friend. We signed up for the 10-day free pass, and was greeted by nice employees when we got in to the facility. After our first workout, we were sat down for the usual sales talk.
We politely declined, explaining that we wanted to finish the 10-day trial first before making a decision. This is when things started to get nasty. They said that we were only eligible for the 10-day pass if we were to sign up for a membership right then and there. The sales associate named Shawn went on to bash other local gyms, saying "why would you want a Honda, when you can drive a BMW?" Needless to say, after hearing this I just stopped listening to his sales pitch altogether.
If you want a good gym with a more relaxed vibe, with less crazy sales people, I would consider your local YMCA or Goodlife. I give a big fat NO for Extreme Fitness.

This was something that I really wanted to like, because most of the time I am too lazy to put lotion on after I shower.
The good:
- The scent is very very subtle. So if I want to use a scented lotion after, it would not compete with my body wash's scent.
- It lathers up amazingly. It's such a joy to use in the shower.
The bad:
- I haven't noticed any difference on my skin after 2 weeks now. My legs still get itchy because of dryness, but maybe I have really dry skin? I don't know.
I've used moisturizing body washes before, and it's definitely better than Dove's here. If I actually use lotion regularly, then this would be my go-to body wash. But for now, it's a no for me.
