It seems like I couldn't go wrong with my mascara purchases lately. When I got chosen to review this as a part of the Product Review Club, I was excited to hopefully find another new love.
Before I get to the effectiveness of this mascara, I just have to say one thing. What's up with this mascara's smell? I've never had this problem with any mascara before -- it stinks! I thought I'd give it a shot though.
I think this is a good one-coat mascara. It does a really good job separating and defining each lash. It also lengthens in one fell swoop. But that's it. I added another coat and ended up with spider lashes. And that smell is giving me a mild headache! :(
In comparing mascaras, I most definitely prefer Covergirl Lashblast over Maybelline Colossal. I found that the formula of the Colossal Volum' Express weighed down my lashes, even though I curled immediately before applying. I don't experience this problem with my Lashblast.
To me the Colossal was just okay. The results it delivered were underwhelming compared to other mascaras I already own.
Will I buy this mascara? No. But if they come out with a waterproof version, it might potentially hold a curl better, so I might give it a try.

This beats liquid liner in so many ways. It is more forgiving if you have a shaky hand, if applied using the right brush. I personally use an angled liner brush by Lise Watier and haven't looked back. You basically just walk the brush across your lash line and voila! You're done. The black colour (Blacktrack) is as intense as black liquid liner. Perfect for winging out your liner for drama, or putting on a precise fine line for a sophisticated look.
The staying power is awesome BUT only with a primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion is its best friend). My eyes turn into a hot mess without eyeshadow primer.
It is CAD $18 before taxes, but I've barely put a dent on mine. This will literally last a lifetime. I will definitely buy this again, in more colours!

I have to say that this is NOT a liquid with chunks of glitter. Instead, the shimmer is very very fine that it imparts a natural glow. I like to use it mixed half-and-half with my foundation, and it creates a healthy summer glow. I just hate heavy makeup during the warm months and dewy skin is what I strive for. The Glow Enhancer helps you fake a natural look super easily. They'll never know! ;) For instant brightening, I like this as a highlight on my brow bone and on my cheekbones. Instant pick-me-up!
This has become a staple in my makeup bag. It comes in various shades to suit everyone's skin tones. I really recommend that you try one!

When I was browsing the Product Body website, curiosity took over me. 100% double-whipped shea butter. It sounded too good to be true. I had to have it. This was the scene on the night my package arrived: Tear open the packaging. Open box. Find shea butter. Scoop. Slather on arms. Swoon. This stuff literally melts on your skin. It really is as good as it sounds. Today I was reading the Product Body blog and came across the fantastic idea of storing the shea butter in the fridge. Genius! I just tried it after I stepped out of the shower, and it somehow turns the shea butter into, like, heaven butter. You think I'm exaggerating? Because, girlfriend, I'm really not. -

I'm a bit of a body scrub snob. I never really bothered with sugar scrubs in the past because they always left something to be desired. Not scrubby enough. Left tons and tons of grease behind. But Product Body has amazingly found the happy medium. In addition to the amazingly refreshing Yuzu scent, this scrub is a fantastic exfoliator. And yet it does not leave a greasy film on the skin, rather leaving a clean, moisturized feeling. I know I haven't tried a lot of scrubs in my lifetime yet, but this one will be very hard to switch from. I use this a lot these days before my self-tanner, and it has never let me down. No doubt about it; it's getting an A from me. -

You know you want to try this mascara! Don't worry, I won't tell those aren't your real lashes. :)

I love this lip gloss. It really makes my lips plump, shiny without being over the top. I got it in Snog, which is a really flattering pink, and in Essential, which is a light nude when I'm going for some drama. Both smell like oranges but taste like nothing. Its staying power is pretty okay, but I don't really have high expectations of staying power from a lip gloss. I won't be surprised if I buy a few more colours to add to my stash. Highly recommended! -

I always go back to Dove when it comes to deodorants. I recently bought the new Energize scent, and it smells sooo good! Like everyone has previously mentioned, the scent lasts all day -- even through my long hard workouts. Before buying this, I tried Degree Ultra Clear and was deeply disappointed; it was not at all workout safe. But when it comes to Dove, I am protected all-day long.
My only beef with these, which are "formulated to stay on skin, not on clothes", is that they do leave white stuff all over dark coloured clothing. It happened on the original formula, and still on the new Go Fresh scents. But I'll live with that if that means I'll be smelling fresh all day.

I was not born with long batty lashes. I must admit that I get lash envy when I see ladies with ridiculously gorgeous set of lashes.
I love a couple of mascaras, but they never deliver everything I am looking for. L'Oreal Voluminous packs quite a punch at fattening up my lashes, but they are never long enough. I love Rimmel Lash Maxxx for its non-clumping comb that lengthens my lashes beautifully, but I need volume! I thought I'd turn to a department store brand for my next mascara experiment.
You may have heard of Clinique's new long-wearing mascara, Lash Power. I put it to the test on my sad little lashes and oh my! Do I love this or what? Here's why:
1. Length. Ridiculously long lashes. I'm not even kidding. My lashes are not stumpy short but they could use some help in this department. My lashes go on for miles with this mascara on.
2. Volume. A mascara that is made to build length also coats lashes fat.
3. Small Wand. I'm a fan of small wands because I am, to put it simply, a total klutz. This also ensures that I get to the baby lashes on the corners of my eyes.
4. Staying Power. This stays on and on and on. It has stayed on through tears and sweat. Absolutely zero smudging or flaking. Just apply warm water and slight pressure, and you'll see the clumps literally go down the drain!
My only complaint is that it makes my lashes crunchy to the touch. But my are they gorgeous! The results are pretty dramatic. Definitely my new favourite mascara these days.

Maybe I'm a concealer snob, but this didn't really work for me. It semi-covered my dark under eye circles, but I also thought it casted a somewhat greyish shadow to my skin. I had better experience with other concealers. Out of all the products from Maybelline's Mineral Power line, this was one that I didn't like at all. For now, I will keep looking for a better concealer. -
