I was looking forward to trying Schmidt's Rose + Vanilla Natural Deodorant however, when I took the cap off, the rose fragrance almost knocked me over! It was way too strong and not a pleasant scent at all. I couldn't detect any vanilla (which I love) because the rose fragrance was so overpowering. It's not a scent I could wear even for an hour, let alone all day. The other turnoff was the brownish colour of the deoderant. Because of the overpowering and unappealing scent, I was unable to try wearing the deoderant myself and instead gave it to my mom for her to try. I really want to try a natural deoderant but this one was definitely not the right one for me. I personally would not recommend Schmidt's Rose + Vanilla Natural Deodorant. -

The first thing I noticed about the got2b Volumaniac Bodyfying Hairspray by Schwarzkopf is how amazing it smells! It makes my hair smell awesome! I can be sensitive to strong fragrances in beauty products, and this one is pretty strong, but so far it hasn’t bothered me. Along with the great scent, comes super funky & modern packaging. The colourful and sleek design of the can would appeal to anyone but I can especially see it attracting teens and young adults in their 20's and 30's for it's fun and playful vibe. In terms of size, the can is quite large at 257g. Which is great on the one hand since it means you get more product and it will last longer. But on the other hand, it’s almost oversize as it just barely fits on my bathroom shelf standing up. The spray dispenses easily from the aerosol nozzle without any backspray or dripping (as can happen with other aerosol hairsprays). It does smell slightly chemical-like but I think that may be more due to the fact that it's an aerosol hairspray rather than to the ingredients but I cant say for sure. All aerosol hairsprays tend to have a similar smell to me however, this one is much less than others and it can only be noticed when spraying and not afterwards (which is another reason why I attributed it to the aerosol can). In terms of consistency, the hairspray isn't sticky and it can easily be brushed through with a comb or brush. It also isn't visible in the hair which is another bad characteristic of some hairsprays. No one wants crunchy, hard looking hair or hair that can’t move. I could barely even tell that I put any hairspray in my hair at all when I ran my fingers through it after applying. That is ideally what a good hairspray should feel like. And best of all, it’s affordable at around just $7 CAD.
So to summarize, the got2b Volumaniac Bodyfying Hairspray delivers on fragrance, packaging, design, formula, price and size. Pretty amazing for a drugstore hairspray that costs just $7! But what really matters is how effective it is. Well, let's look at what it is supposed to do. “This volumizing spray immediately locks in volume with enough hold for that high drama look you crave. (You'll) go crazy with insane volume from root to tip (and) get (a) crazy boost and dramatic hold to take your style to new heights”. (Quoted from Schwarzkopf.ca) Sadly, I can’t say I noticed insane volume or any significant improvement in the look or feel of my hair after using the got2b Volumaniac Hairspray (& mousse from the same line) for almost 2 weeks. My hair smells incredible but that’s about the only benefits I noticed. However, in the effort of full disclosure, I should say that I do wear my hair up all the time so it’s hard to measure body and fullness when your hair isn’t down. Perhaps wearing my hair down and loose would have given me the intended results. But with that said, the hairspray worked well for keeping my flyaways in check and my look secure when wearing my hair in buns and ponytails.
Overall, I was really happy with this product. I was already a fan of got2b hair products and I use 2 of them (not from this line) on a daily basis already and repurchase them again and again. I love their products and I especially like that I don’t have to sacrifice quality for a cheaper price tag. I look forward to trying many more got2b products in the future and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

The first thing I noticed about the got2b Volumaniac Bodyfying Mousse by Schwarzkopf is how amazing it smells! It makes my hair smell fabulous! I can be sensitive to strong fragrances in beauty products but so far I haven’t noticed any negative reactions from using the Volumaniac Mousse. Along with the great scent, comes super funky & modern packaging. The colourful and sleek design of the can would appeal to anyone but I can especially see it attracting a younger demographic (like myself. Wink, wink). In terms of size, the can is quite large at 226g, which is great. The foam dispenses easily and the right amount comes out with just a short press of the button. It doesn’t spray tons of product everywhere like some other brands of mousse I've tried in the past. Or even worse, come out all watery and runny and dripping from your hand. Yuck! Nope, not this one! It lands squarely in the palm of your hand without any backspray at all and the mousse is light &fluffy;, making for the perfect consistency. It also doesn’t leave your hands feeling overly sticky after application which is another bad characteristic of many hair products. It absorbs really quickly into the hair too but without weighing it down; you’d almost never even know you put any product in it. Another awesome fact about it is that it’s affordable; at around $7 CAD it is accessible to almost everyone.
So to recap, the got2b Volumaniac Bodyfying Mousse delivers on fragrance, packaging, design, formula, price and size. Pretty amazing already, right!? But what really matters is whether it's effective or not. First, let's look at what it claims to do. It's “infused with a polymer complex and flex agent technology to provide a natural high hold with elasticity… (and) insane volume from root to tip. (You’ll) get (a) crazy boost and dramatic hold to take your style to new heights”. (Quoted from Schwarzkopf.ca) Sadly, I can’t say I noticed insane volume or any significant improvement in the look or feel of my hair after using the got2b Volumaniac Mousse (& hairspray from the same line) for almost 2 weeks. I can’t say I was too impressed with the Gliss Extra Volume Lift-up Spray by Schwarzkopf. Other than its amazing scent, I was disappointed with this product. I’m a fan of most Schwarzkopf hair products but this one just didn’t impress me. Yes, it has a great scent & super pretty, modern packaging. The colour and shape of the bottle is lovely and it sprays well and evenly. It is a small to average size bottle at 5.1 fl. Oz. / 150 ml for a treatment product; however, at around $10 CAD I feel the price is a bit high for a drugstore hair treatment in this size. It delivers in the areas of fragrance and pretty packaging but it’s highly lacking in effectiveness. Formulated “with Collagen Complex, (it promises to) repair inner hair damage and lift (flat, lifeless) hair from the roots for long-lasting volume, without weighing hair down”. (Quoted from Schwarzkopf.ca) However, I didn’t notice any significant volume improvement at all in the look or feel of my fine hair after using the Gliss Extra Volume Lift-up Spray (along with the Shampoo & Conditioner from the same line) after almost 2 weeks. My hair smells incredible but that’s about the only benefits I’ve noticed from using this product. I didn’t experience more volume, lift or life in my hair at all from what I could tell. Perhaps when using all 3 products over an extended period of time, the results would be more significant than what I experienced. So given the lack of effectiveness of this product and the higher price tag, I likely wouldn’t consider ever buying this spray. However, I love Schwarzkopf products so I would definitely be open to trying other Gliss haircare products in future; especially if the price dropped a bit to make them more affordable. Perhaps the Extra Volume line just didn't work for my fine hair but it may work better for other hair types.

What I love the most about Gliss Extra Volume Conditioner by Schwarzkopf is how amazing it makes my hair smell! I can be sensitive to strong fragrances in beauty products but so far I haven’t noticed any negative reactions from using Gliss Conditioner. Along with the great scent, comes super pretty & modern packaging. The colour and shape of the bottle is lovely and the bottle is quite large. You get quite a bit of conditioner in the 13.6 fl. Oz. / 400 ml bottle. However, it is still light enough to be handled comfortably for easy use in the shower. It also has the dispenser on the bottom so you don’t have to flip it upside down to get the product out. I love that feature because it makes it faster and easier to access. At around $9 CAD I feel the price is a bit high for a drugstore conditioner. It delivers in the areas of fragrance, packaging, design and size but it’s lacking in effectiveness. Formulated “with Collagen Complex, (it promises to) repair inner hair damage and lift (flat, lifeless) hair from the roots for long-lasting volume, without weighing hair down”. (Quoted from Schwarzkopf.ca) However, I didn’t notice any significant volume improvement in the look or feel of my hair after using the Gliss Extra Volume Shampoo & Conditioner for almost 2 weeks. My hair smells incredible and was easier to comb through after washing which was a bonus but that’s about the only benefits I’ve noticed. Perhaps when using the line over an extended period of time, the results would be more significant. Despite not giving me fuller, bouncier hair, I would consider possibly buying this conditioner or other Gliss haircare products in future; especially if the price dropped a bit to make it more affordable.

I tried the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes when they first came on the market several years ago and I wasn't impressed. I was hoping for a more positive experience this time around but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Here’s what I found when using and testing the wipes:
Packaging - The look and colour of the package is appealing and it boasts an "aqua-lock" feature which keeps each wipe fresh once the package is opened. This is a good feature as these wipes are lacking in moisture to begin with.
Pricing - The 25 wipe package price is a pretty average price for this type of product and is priced affordably.
Scent - The scent is not overly strong which is good but it isn't exactly an appealing smell either.
Quality - The package claims an "improved" formula "made with our softest fibres, gentle cleansers, purified water and multi-vitamins." After reading this description on the package, I was hopeful that the wipes would be greatly improved but they were much the same as I remembered. I found the wipes to be rough and scratchy on my skin and very dry. Surprisingly, there was very little moisture to them at all despite the aqua-lock feature. I have very sensitive skin so often products irritate it quite easily. This is one reason why the wipes appealed to me originally as the package states they are "kind to skin" and made by "sensitive skin experts". In my opinion, I do not think these wipes should be marketed this way as it is misleading. I also found the wipes felt as if they were made with poor quality or cheap materials. My regular brand of facial wipes are priced lower than this product so I'm by no means used to high-end products. I believe that even if a product is priced affordably, it should not compromise on quality as I feel these wipes do.
Effectiveness - As uncomfortable as these wipes felt on my skin, I found them to be fairly effective at removing most of my makeup, although not all. I removed the remainder of the makeup left behind with a face cleanser and wash cloth. I also like that they are non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. I haven't had a chance to test the wipes over an extended period of time so I can't speak to whether they cause breakouts or not but I do like that they don’t feel oily or leave any residue behind.
Ingredients - The package claims "no artificial perfume or dyes, ophthalmologist tested and safe for sensitive eyes". This is all great and a big selling feature but right next to that it says, "Warning - Avoid getting into eyes". Shouldn't a product that is "ophthalmologist tested and safe for sensitive eyes" be free of such warnings? And although the product claims to contain multi-vitamins, I didn't see anything resembling vitamins in the ingredient list. So all of this leads me to wonder about the validity of these claims.
Summary – All in all I was extremely disappointed with these wipes and I do not feel that the product lives up to its claims. I would never purchase these wipes or recommend them to anyone and I would be hesitant to try any other products by the Simple brand after my two negative experiences with these wipes. However, I am thankful to Chickadvisor for the opportunity to test and review them and provide my honest feedback on this product.
* I received this product free for review and test purposes however, all opinions are my own and as always, honest. #gotitfree

Who doesn't love a Jumbo Mr Freezie?! It brings to mind feel good memories of hot summer days as a kid running under sprinklers, playing double dutch and riding our bikes as fast as we could go. Nobody makes freezies like Mr. Freezie! Other brands lose the flavour in the first gulp and then you're left with plain old ice to eat but the flavour lasts until the end with Mr. Freezies. And everyone has their favourite flavours. Mine were always blue, white, pink and red. Yum! Haven't had one in years but now I want one! -

I really like this face mask. I'm pretty new to face masks in general so I wasn't sure which one to buy. However, I decided on the St. Ives Mineral Clay Firming Mask because I wanted to try to limit my oily and acne prone skin, it was affordable and I've bought other St. Ives products in the past and liked them.
The texture of the mask felt really good going on - a cool temperature and a smooth consistency. I'm guessing that would be from the clay but I'm not sure. As it dried, it got cakey and felt tight but it didn't flake off or anything. After I washed it off, my skin felt amazing! It felt super clean, very soft to the touch and it helped to control shine and oil. I haven't been using it regularly enough to see if it would limit my breakouts, so I have to make a point to use it once a week for acne prevention.
Overall, I was really happy with this product. I would definitely purchase it again and I would for sure recommend it to others.
