This is probrably one of the best eye make up removers on the market. It is quite a bit more expensive compared to other ones out there, but if you can afford it, I would definitely recommend it.
It is very effective at removing all types of make up, including waterproof and long lasting make up. I once had a situation where I didn't have this product and spent 20-30 minutes trying to remove waterproof eye make up and long wear lip stick (stuff that stays on all day even after you eat - serious stuff) with soap and water, creams, scrubbing, etc and even then I wasn't able to get all of it off.
With this product, removing make up is a snap! It doesn't feel overly greasy and is very gentle on the skin. I highly recommend it!

Granville Island is one of the true gems in Vancouver. The area boasts the Emily Carr School of Art & Design, shops run by local artisans, a microbrewery, the Kids Only market but the one thing I LOVE about Granville Island is the Public Market!
There are stalls upon stalls of fresh produce from local farms, flower shops, pastry shops, bakeries, grain shops, butchers, pasta, teas, hand made confections, etc. I also love the fact that you can often deal directly with the independent shop/stall owners. It results in a more personal experience. I find the quality and variety of the food items better/more unique than what you could get at a regular grocery store. The produce is often fresher and cheaper compared to grocery stores (I guess because it comes directly from the farm). This is my favourite place to grocery shop in the whole city. The variety that is provides along with the unique shopping experience cannot be beat.
However, I would recommend going at non peak times (during the week or in the early morning on the weekends) as the place can get REALLY busy and parking at Granville Island can be challenging at times.

If you want to be pampered at a luxurious, beautiful and relaxing spa, this is the place to go to. The place is beautiful with renaissance inspired sculptures and decor. The waiting room boasts a fireplace and stone fountain along with complimentary coffee, tea, juice, nuts, fruit and water while waiting to go into your appointment.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the treatment rooms are clean, elegant and polished. The place is popular with both men and women whom I've seen when I go there. I personally think that this is the best spa in Vancouver. However, it is more expensive than other places but the atmosphere, friendliness of the staff and treatments make it worth it. If you are willing to pay a little more, you won't be disappointed.

It's been awhile since I've gone to Cactus Club. The last time I went there was before Rob Feenie because their food concept architect and OMG, he has done an AMAZING job at revamping the menu. The menu is a lot more focused with a lot more quality choices.
I had the steak with the mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables - delicious! my friend had the burger with green salad and yam friends, another friend of mine had the chicken wrap with yam fries. Everything was sensational. Before the menu was just like any of the other restaurant & bar place but Feenies work has kicked it up several notches! Now the food is closer to the high end dining experience in quality and taste but still in the nice casual, unpretentious environment. And the prices are still very reasonable. Cactus club is definitely on the top of my list when choosing a restaurant.

Thomas Haas is a genius! The pastries and chocolates at his shop are divine and the place is very popular. I had a croissant, Danish and sandwich along with a hot chocolate and everything was delicious. They make their chocolates themselves – truffles, infusions, bars, caramels in all shapes and sizes. At Christmas there was even a modern Christmas tree/pyramid made out of chocolate.
You can often see Thomas Haas passing out samples of pastries to appease the line up that forms on Saturday. He is super nice and friendly. A friend of mine even apprenticed under him.
Only downside is that this cafe isn't open late at night and they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. But the place is so great, it’s worth juggling your schedule just to go there.

This is my favourite flower shop in all of Vancouver. The flowers, plants, bouquets and arrangements are beautiful, artistic, tasteful and well priced! There are two flower shops in Granville Island. I always compare them against each other and this shop always wins in terms of selection and price.
They also do phone orders and deliveries. I have once had to order flowers remotely for my mom and sister in Vancouver while I was in Toronto and did the whole thing over the phone (order, payment, delivery instructions, personal message/card to go with the flowers). The people there were very helpful and friendly. This flower shop is outstanding in terms of quality of product, value and customer service.
I have yet to find a flower shop that beats this one.

This is one of my favourite cafes in Vancouver. They offer gourmet salads and sandwiches and excellent coffee. Prices are reasonable. They often feature special/limited edition coffee beans which you can order by the cup or order the beans and brew it at home. Some of these coffees can cost $5-10/cup or over $100/lb for the beans. I really appreciate coffee (it's my version of wine) so I appreciate the special varieties that they bring in and the write ups they have describing the flavour notes that are characteristic of each of the coffee beans.
This is a popular spot for the lunch time crowd or for the coffee connoisseur. The baristas do latte art and their lattes are one of the best in the city. If you’re really into your coffee (or a coffee snob like me) this is definitely the café to go to. They also have other locations around the city.

I received this mascara from the goodie bag after the Shop Crawl (great event btw). This mascara does a very good job at defining (hence the name) and separating each lash. I like the regular/narrrow size of the brush as I've been using a lot of mascaras with the thick, wide brushes lately.
The narrowness of the brush makes it easy to cover and define each lash. The formula doesn't clump either. This is a great mascara for defining and does an okay job at lengthening. However, I didn't find that it added much volume.
There are better mascaras for volume and lengthening but this is a decent mascara that doesn't clump and does a good job at defining each lash.

My friend recommended this lipstick/lip gloss to me because she was impressed with how the color lasted the entire day and didn't wear off. MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolor consists of two viles - one end contains a colored lipgloss and the other end contains a clear gloss (or shimmery gloss depending on which color you buy).
I am so impressed with this product! The color lasts all day and does not come off when you eat or drink (no more embarrassing situations where your lipstick stays on the water glass). =) They are pricy however.
I find it worth the price because I don't have to worry about reapplying my lip color throughout the day. I am still going through my one tube of Pro Longwear Lipcolor where I would be well into my second tube of lipstick/gloss by now. And also, if I want to add shine, I can just gloss my lips with the clear gloss.
The only negative is that the formula tends to dry out my lips so i have to keep moisturizing them. But for me it's a small price to pay for lip color that lasts the whole day and doesn't come off . This product is excellent!

This is one of my favourite lip glosses! I had been using Viva Glam V for years and then Viva Glam VI came out. It's quite similar to Viva Glam V in that it's quite neutral and can go with almost anything but Viva Glam VI has more of a berry tone with a subtle sparkle/shimmer.
It is more expensive compared to other lip glosses but the quality is worth it (also, proceeds of the Viva Glam family go to the MAC AIDS Fund). The formula is a little stickier but it does last longer. I love this lipgloss because it has shine, color, longer lasting wear and a subtle shimmer without being overly sparkly. I always have it with me because the color is so neutral it goes with everything.
