After watching several smokey eye tutorials where this product was used, I decided no other kind would do if I wanted to get the look right. This is marketed as a professional make up product, however you can get it at several popular stores in almost every town in Canada. I bought mine at Save-On Foods and it is wonderful!!
I grabbed Matte Black which makes a great choice as an all around shadow and eyeliner. It really grips on and stays put, as well as blends nicely. They also have a very broad and interesting selection of funky bright colors and old favs. For a single eyeshadow, it will cost you $6.99, or around $5.00 in the US. Shhhh... The next time I cross the border I'm stocking up!! The strung out pricing between the US and the Canadian website and retail prices is my only peeve about this product. Otherwise, I'm a Nyx lifer now.

Ahhh,.... young, immortal love. I read this book, along with all the others in the series because when there is so much hype about something, it feels almost negligent not to be in on it. I'm a fan of vampire stories and the supernatural in general as well, so it was a natural read for me. I liked the over all theme of the book, although it was pretty predictable and Bella is an annoying drama queen. Having said that, it was like mind crack and I couldn't wait to read the next one. It sucked me in even though at times I was rolling my eyes. The reason it grabs you though isn't because of Bella and Edward's story so much as it is about everyone's story. I wanted to learn more about the Cullen's in general, not just the two main characters. By reading the series you get to glimpse into everyone's past and see how all the peices of this family fit together.
The other cool thing about this book is that everyone seems to be reading it within a massive age gap. I can sit down with my neice and totally be in the loop about La Push and what I think Bella should do.
However if you are a Twilight junkie, head to Stephanie Meyer's webpage and read Midnight Sun. This is Twilight re-written from Edward's point of view and is a far better version of the story. The first 250ish pages are available to read off the webpage, but the book to this date isn't finsihed. (long story made shorter- someone leaked a draft of the book to the internet and she stopped writing it, but posted what she did have online so her fans could read it and it wasn't a total waste.)

If I had just one word to describe this mascara it would be... CRAP! No wait... maybe the word would be cheap and I don't mean just the price. I bought this junk because I've heard tons of good about it. I was so disapointed with it!!! A few months later I saw it listed under a magizine's Top 10 list and decided to give it another try. Afterall, it's possible that the first one I bought was an old tube, or had a bad upbringing.. who knows. However the second tube was as crappy as the first. At least it is consistant in its craptastiness.
Things that were wrong:
1. clumping!!!
2. messy!! see #1.
3. smudged, flaked, and was ignorant to work with in general.
I also agree with one of the other reviewers when she mentioned that it is ok at making lashes dark, but don't expect it to give you length or volume.
So sad! I wanna be a a believer! But mostly I just want my money back. :-/

In a fit of environmental consciousness, I decided to start switching my make up products in a more earth and karma friendly direction. This lead me to Physician's Formula Organic Wear Bronzer. You can pick this up practically everywhere make up is sold these days, and it does have some nice features. I like the mix of colors, and I use it instead of blush to bring out my cheekbones. It has a very cool paper compact with magnetic closures and the brush is stored on the bottom side with a nice little mirror. I'm not sure how well this kit would stay closed fighting for its own at the bottom of your purse though. Overall though, I like it and it gives me a nice hint of tan without covering too thick like some liquids can do. As for the karma and earth side, check out what it has going for it, courtesy of the Physician's Formula website:

Love it! Not sure how it holds up to its claim to diminish appearance of fine lines and age spots as I'm not quite at that life stage yet, but it feels and smells wonderful. It has a nice light orange scent and doesn't have any greasy feel to it. I found it to be fast absorbing and unlike some other lotions, I only need one application to get the job done. If I had one complaint it would be that when you buy it in the tub, it seems like for the size of the container there should be more in it. -

Up until this little number, they only things I bought from The Body Shop was lip butter, body butter, and shower cream. Guess I figured that my make up dollars was better spent on drugstore products that I'd been using for years. After this though, I'm going to be making a large investment in Body Shop makeup in the future. Loved the shimmer cubes, and the fact that they are all in their own little cases is great~ They have great staying power, beautiful color and are user friendly when mixing the colors. Well worth the $20 purchase price, and unlike some drugstore brands there is a lot of eye shadow in each square. I'm sure it will take me a long time to use these up, even with my high consumption rate. -

This was a bargain! I bought two of these little gems for $10.00 at La Senza. I'm not a huge fan of liquid eyeliner due to coordination issues, but anything with glitter in it wins me over. You only need a very thin line of this to make your eyes sparkle. It doesn't look too circus trash, and can add a fun touch of glitter to your girls night, dinner party, Friday night shift at work, or any adult entertainment venue/event you may want to partake in. (Yes, I did wear it out and I do believe it gave me super human pole dancer powers at the last girls pub crawl.)
I bought the gold (Copperhot) and the Black Silver and honestly can't decide which one I like better. The only funny thing with this is that when you are standing under a bright light, sometimes you can see a hint of the sparkle in your peripheral vision. I had read on a blog before that this product can cause eye irritation, but I've had no problems with it and I even wear contacts. Pick these up!

If I had to sum this product up in one word it would be... "meh."
I bought this little science experiment on a recommendation from a friend, and have never let her live it down. I liked the idea of slapping on a coat of primer before my layer of mascara, thinking that it would give me beautiful big doll lashes that no one could resist. Not so much.....
To begin with, the primer coat smells like paint mixed with the paste you may have eaten back in grade school. It also looks like congealed paste when you paint it on. Then we wait for it to dry, and when that happens you get to paint the mascara on over top. There were several problems with this procedure. First of all time. I'm a busy girl and as I'm getting ready I am also watching the clock while trying to step into my jeans and flip flops. I don't have time to wait for paint to dry on my lashes before putting the mascara on. Second, the mascara seemed too thick to go over the paint/primer easily. I had to spend quite a bit of time working the brush around to cover all the freaky white lashes. Third problem was that it flakes something awful! After four hours I had eyelash dandruff under my eye. I don't know about you, but nothing I just described sounds like a Lash Fantasy to me. This one is going in the bin.

Finally.... I have found a mascara worth sticking with! I was skeptical to try this product at first due to my general distaste for Maybelline mascara in the past. (I honestly have had nothing but crappy results with the Great Lash pink mascara everyone raves about and I've bought and tried it three times now. Great Lash is the only mascara I've ever hated enough to write the company about.) But back to this coolness....
I was originally drawn to this mascara by the circ-tastic bright yellow color of the container. Then I checked the price and thought it seemed very decently priced and I figured one more mascara in my already overcrowded drawer couldn't hurt. I was so pleasantly surprised by it! It goes on nice and thick, but not clumpy. It makes my lashes look huge and full, and stays on through my whole day. Another keeper, I'm chucking the rest! Maybelline... you have started to mend my broken faith and sway me back to your side.

I bought this eye cream last fall at Nordstrom's and it was my first dept. store beauty purchase. I figured I needed to see if the product was worth the hyped price. I loved it, and it feels great on my skin! It glides on really smooth and absorbs quickly, and I've added it as an essential to my skin regime. Go get some! -
