From my previous encounters with PanOxyl's patches, they're a trustworthy brand that puts out solid products. That said, I wanted to see how well their "brightening patches" worked because these aren't exactly marketed as a hydrocolloid patches whereas most products on the market (such as this kind) do.
Unlike hydrocolloid patches which naturally helps to hydrate, protect, and rejuvenate areas affected by acnes, whiteheads, and other contaminants, this patch seemed to be just purely for cosmetic reasons. So with that in mind, I applied one of these patches on an area with redness from a recently-removed whitehead. I made sure to do this overnight in order to give it the longest, uninterrupted time to work its magic. In the morning, I found it to have a decent effect of subsiding a lot of the significant redness that was present in the area the night before. I made sure to continue for the second night which also seemed to have some positive effect for the next morning. Having said that, I also can't say with confidence that the reduction in redness was all thanks to the magic of PanOxyl's blemish patches. It could be that the reduction in redness was simply due to the natural recovery of the whitehead area over the course of the 2 days. Correlation does not imply causation, so while I can't say conclusively this was the reason why the redness subsided, I also believe that it will have a better (and possibly, a more noticeable) effect on dark spots than redness stemming from a disturbed and removed whitehead.
A total of 16 patches are included, with there being a total of 4 separate sealed packets and each packet containing 4 of the triangular patches. The sizes of the patches weren't too small, and the adhesive power was solid. I also really appreciated the overall quality of the patches for having substantial enough thickness without being noticeably thick. The translucent build made it discreet enough for use in public without making it obvious that there's a patch on your face or other parts of your skin.
Because the blemish patches seem to work for cosmetic effects, if you require hydrocolloid patches instead for wound care, treatment, and healing, I suggest you explore PanOxyl's other patches that focus on that instead of this product.
