I have been DYING to try the new Aveeno Positively Nourishing shampoo and conditioner, but being the frugal shopper I am couldn’t bring myself to spend $7 something per bottle. Well, last weekend WalMart “rolled back” the price to $5.97. Still pricy, but I had a couple of $2 coupons and price matched at Zellers to get my 10% SPC discount.
So here’s how it worked out:
2 * $5.97 = $11.94 – 2 * $2 coupons = $7.94 – 10% SPC discount ($0.79) = $7.15 total. $7.15 / 2 = $3.57 each. Not a bad deal!
The Aveeno Positively Nourishing line varieties available are: Revitalize, Moisturize, Volumize, and Soothe which is available in shampoo but not conditioner. My hair, which is currently the longest it’s ever been in my adult life, is super curly and has been really dry and course lately so I decided to try out the Revitalize. It has nourishing wheat complex which, according to the bottle, “helps repair everyday damage to normal hair.” So, does it?
ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY! I’ve been using it for 3 or 4 days and my hair is noticeably smoother and stronger. I can get my hairbrush through it with ease right out of the shower without the vigorous 20 minute battle that’s become part of my daily routine as of late. It smells fantastic. The thing that amazes me most is how SOFT my hair is! I can’t stop touching it… it’s incredible! I honestly don’t think I’ll ever use any other shampoo or conditioner again after Aveeno.

There is a real possibility that I am one of the hairiest women alive, I kid you not. Obviously, it's not something I am fond of so I have tried just about every hair removal product on the market. Lotions, razors (which cause me to break out with razor burn and rashes usually), waxes, that Nads tree sap skin ripper... EVERYTHING. Spending $80 or so every 5 or 6 weeks at a salon for waxing was becoming painful. That's when I saw it... my Godsend. It was on the bottom shelf in one of the beauty isles at WalMart.... the Remington Essentials Epilator with NanoSilver. It was a bit pricey at $75, but I figured it's be well worth the money if it worked. Less than the cost of one salon visit, really. I LOVE IT!!! I even use it on my armpits! Yes, it hurt the first couple times, but I don't even feel it anymore. It's rechargable and it comes with a shaver head, too. I definitely recommend it! Best $75 I've ever spent. -
