My daughters have just discovered Shopkins....with gusto!
I find some of the paint jobs to be sloppily done, and some of them are especially small, but the kids love them. My two-year-old only ever has one at a time, and she is constantly losing it. My five-year-old has a small collection of about 25 or so and knows all of their names.
The two of them happily play together with them for hours at a time, acting out all kinds of scenarios. They seem to be a hit.
When they got Christmas money, they both wanted to go out and get all things Shopkins.

My daughters received this for Christmas last year. It was a huge hit. We have a small slide and ended up putting it at the bottom so that they'd land in the balls. It did spring a few leaks that had to be repaired, but it admittedly took a lot of abuse from two very enthusiastic preschoolers. Eventually the side tore off and we had to get rid of it, but it was great while it lasted.
I also wish it came with more balls. We purchased more, but I gave one as a gift as well not realizing how sparse the ball tent looked with only the ones included with it.

This is a great toy. We bought this for our daughter when she was one. She loved scribbling all over it. It's a great way to let a little kid play at writing without any mess. I loved it because we could bring to even their grandmother's house (who said at my daughter's birth never to bring a crayon into her house!) without worrying about marks on the floors or walls.
The only caveat I'd offer here is to make sure you let it dry out before folding it up and putting it away. Ours developed mold one humid summer after being stored while still wet (our fault of course) and we had to replace it.

My two-year-old received this toy when she was one, and she loves it. She pulls it around by the string and loves twirling the dial. It has stood up to lots of abuse - being pulled off the shelf by the cord, knocked down the stairs, dropped from the second level, and still it looks nearly new. -

You can't beat Play-Doh! It's one of those childhood staples. When my kids were infants I made my own because I was worried about them eating it, but once they were old enough to understand it was a toy and not food, we bought a bunch of Play-Doh sets and the big box with all the colours. It is great to amuse them when I have work to do, and I think it helps them improve their dexterity and be creative.
There is a reason Play-Doh has been on the shelves for so many years!

It doesn't take a lot of skill, and even our 2-year-old can easily figure out who caught the most balls, making it a fun and simple game to play as a family.
The kids love the noise it makes when we are all trying to catch the balls too.

This really works. I have to admit I was skeptical about dry shampoos but my friend kept raving about Batiste Dry Shampoo. Finally I bought some, and I was amazed at how well it works.
I have brown hair with light highlights. When my hair is newly washed everything blends nicely, but if I haven't washed my hair, it looks more like black hair with yellow streaks - not very pretty. Anyways, highlights do enough damage, so washing and blowdrying my hair everyday isn't an option. Spraying some of this at the roots lets me get a couple of days in-between washings with my hair looking fresh and not weighed down. I was afraid it would leave a powdery film on my dark hair, but it doesn't seem to leave anything noticeable behind.
The price is great too. Some of the other dry shampoos I've seen sell for more than double the cost of Batiste.

I have to admit, when I saw that this flavour contained veggies, I wasn't sure if it would pass the test with my picky eaters. I gave one to my four-year-old, and one to my two-year-old, and both of them loved it. For my four-year-old, this was her favourite flavour.
I love the convenience of the packaging. There were no spills and no silverware being mixed up, licked by the dog, or dropped on the floor.
The portability of these is great. I could easily toss a couple in my purse in case we get stuck in traffic and the kids need a quick snack. They'd be great for bringing on picnics or to the park where it's not easy for kids to wash their hands before they eat.
I'll be buying these again. My kids have already reminded me to put them on the grocery list.

First of all, I love the convenience of the packaging. It's the type of thing I could leave in the car if they get hungry on a road trip. You twist off the cap, and they can enjoy it straight from the package so there's no need for bringing along spoons and bowls and no messy clean-up.
I had a four-year-old and a two-year-old to help me with this taste test. Both of them gave the Unsweetened Strawberry-Kiwi flavour two thumbs up. They each happily gobbled down a package for their morning snack, and they each asked for another one at lunch time.
These are so much easier to give my kids that the type of pureed fruit that comes in the little cups with the peel back lids. There was no spilling and no dropping of spoons. These would be easy to take with us to the park, on a wagon ride, or in the car.
These will definitely be on my grocery list.
