I love this little tester. I like that it is so long so I can get right into the middle of a very deep cake to test if it is done. So much better than using a toothpick. It's also fairly thin, so the testing spot isn't very noticeable. I like the big round part on the end as well as it helps it stand out in the drawer.

My favourite slow cooker!
I am a big fan of slow cooking, and I own quite a few different slow cookers. This is my favourite for making large quantities of foods and cooking meat like roasts and chickens. It has a built it thermometer, so you can set it to cook based on time or based on reaching a set temperature. This takes the guesswork out of cooking meat safely and is the biggest perk of the machine to me. I also like the time set feature and that it will automatically change to the warm setting rather than continuing to cook something on high if I get caught in traffic for a couple hours unexpectedly.
I've had mine for several years. It still looks and works great.

This is great quality parchment paper. This is a product I rarely used until we bought this brand. It's great for dry poaching meat and fish. It's also awesome for lining pans when cooking high-stick foods like candied nuts or granola. I also use it when I'm making cookies for events or to give away as it gives them a perfectly smooth bottom and makes them look professional.
If you have fancy cookie cutters with lots of little parts cut out, you can roll them out on parchment paper and cook it on the same paper without having to lift your delicate cookies. This has allowed me to make incredibly intricate designs for snowflakes, gingerbread houses, etc. without warping the shapes.
Highly recommend.

These are great little decorating bags. At first they seemed pricey compared to the disposable version, but if you're going to do a lot of decorating, they are definitely worth it. They are also stronger than the disposables and especially good if you want to work with stiffer icing. I feel like I'm being more environmentally friendly purchasing these. -

Very quickly it seemed to lose that ability, and my ice cream started to come out very liquidy. I don't know if the motor wore out quickly, or what, but given it cost about $100, it should have lasted more than a couple of weeks. -
Alcan Aluminum foil
This is good tinfoil. You can use it for lining pans and for covering food to seal in the juices. Also works on the bbq for wrapping potatoes, fish, etc. The cutter on this works well and gives a good clean line.

I use this several times a day. I love how it can break up little seeds. I can put flax seeds in whole and they all get broken up. So much better than buying ground flax seed or grinding it up in advance.
The best thing about this for me is that it has made my children eat healthier. I make them a smoothie every day with kale or spinach and some fruit. They love it. If anyone had ever told me my kids would be drinking green kale smoothies, I'd have thought they were crazy, but they love them.
It is also great for milling flours from soft grains. I also use it for making baby food.
When this eventually dies, as all appliances do, I'll be replacing it in a matter of days.

Absolutely love my crockpot. It does all the work for me. I put all the ingredients for our morning oatmeal in at night and let it simmer all night long for hot oatmeal when we wake up. It has the added benefit of making the house smell wonderful.
Also use it to cook a roast or chicken while we're at work and come home to a meal all ready to go.
I have a couple of these now so I can have dinner and dessert going at the same time, and a smaller one for making things like baby food and applesauce. They last forever and are a great timer saver.
Highly recommend.

Someone gave me a big pack of these as a gift. I hope it wasn't a commentary on my housekeeping! I would never have thought to buy them myself, but these things are great. They leave our high gloss furniture looking spotlessly clean where dusting rags leave traces behind. They are great for doing hard-to-dust things like ceiling fans and window blinds as well. My kids love for me to hand them one of these on cleaning day and let them go crazy dusting everything in the house. I am impressed with these and will buy them in the future. -

It works as an easel and with several interchangeable "sheets" that teach about different topics. It is also her colouring desk with spaces for her crayons and markers. This is one of those toys that sees daily use and will be passed on to the younger ones. -
