I purchased the Shany Cosmetics 40 Count Eye Shadow Palette off of Amazon. I was unsure about the quality, as the price was quite low ($15 for 40 shades) but was blown away! The 40 count includes some shimmer eye shadows, as well as some neon and brights, and some more tame colours, and all of them had great pigment, smooth application, and you don't have to use a lot to get a nice, bright application of colour. Usually, the cheap shadows cause me to break out, or burn when on my eyes, but this brand seems to work well, seems to be relatively hypo-allergenic despite not being advertised as such, and the colours stay put without creasing or running. I have hyper-hydrosis, so my face sweats, especially around my eyes, and this eye shadow didn't seem to be affected by that. It lasts for hours, and the pigments stays strong. The price was great, quality was awesome, what more could you ask for, really, in a make-up palette? Also, it has both warm and cold colours, so it's well suited for anyone! Shany Cosmetics may be up and coming, so watch out for them in the near future! If you'd like to order a palette, go to amazon.com/.ca/uk (whatever area you happen to be in) and have a look.
As for the shipping of the palette, the company protects the shadows from cracking or falling apart by placing a plastic strip between the palette and roof of the container, and also wrap the palette in bubble wrap before placing it in the Shany box. That doesn't include the packaging that Amazon used to protect the product.

Normally when I do a review of something, I don't add quite as many details as I did to this one, but because it is a "diet pill", and does contain some of the newer fad weight loss ingredients, I thought that it was important to share. Most diet pills/weight loss formulas are created equal, despite flashy, loud claims to the contrary, and to anyone who is new to the world of weight loss supplements and diet pills, really what the pills come down to are caffeine supplements more than anything. It may not be written in that clearly, but the new fad ingredients such as Green Tea Extract and Acai are little more than natural names for different forms of caffeine.
I found that even with changing my diet and adding in daily exercises, the results were the same both with, and without the QuickTrim. I went for a month using the QuickTrim with diet and exercise and lost 10 lbs. I went for a month with just simply diet and exercise, and lost 9 lbs, so the difference was so minimal that it really wasn't worth the $30 I paid for the pills. Also, that one pound difference could have been due to water intake, or a menstrual cycle. The only thing that I found even remotely helpful about this supplement was that when I took it first thing in the morning, I got a little bit of a boost to start the day, but that boost could have been equally provided by a cup or two of coffee.
The negatives to the pill were frightening to me at times. I had a rapid heart beat, to the point of feeling like I was having a panic attack, so if you have an anxiety disorder of any kind, stay away from these things. I experienced some dizziness/light-headedness, heartburn, and bowel upset while taking the supplement. All of those, in my mind, would be filed under "unpleasant at best", so I really don't recommend using QuickTrim, or any of the other caffeine-based weight management/weight loss pills.
Also, the $30 cost of the pills is only a one month supply, so if you plan on taking these for a long period of time to maintain whatever minimal amount of weight loss you think you're getting from them, be prepared to add it into your monthly budget. They're just not worth the money, or the side effects, and I'm no doctor, but I can imagine the stress that these things put on your heart in the long-term probably will have detrimental effects. If you really want to lose weight, accept that it takes time. There is no magic pill. Diet and exercise really are the best ways to go about reaching your goal, you just have to be patient.
Thanks for reading my review!

I purchased a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black in an effort to make designs on my nails in an easier fashion than using toothpicks, but found it to be almost as difficult, and less effective due to the fact that the pen smears when you attempt to apply a top coat. It is suggested to use a top coat after the pen dries, so I left the pen to dry for a good half hour before attempting to apply the top coat, and touched my finger tip to it to see if it would come off. It appeared dry, and did not rub off on my finger, but as soon as I applied the top coat, the pen began to run across my nail.
I have yet to try another brand of nail pen, as they are quite pricey, so I don't have any recommendations as to an alternative brand to try, but I really would advise against using the Sally Hansen pen. The application was simple, and the control over the pen tip was great... but the staying power... not so much, which kind of throws a wrench in the gears if you want a nice design.

I purchased three bottles of Salon Perfect Nail Lacquer in Traffic Cone, Loopy Lime, and Fired Up Fuschia because this particular brand offered some amazingly bright colours (as you can probably tell from the names of the polishes I bought). I love bright, happy nail colours, and as far as that part of quality is concerned, these certainly delivered. However, I found the overall quality of this particular nail polish to be less than stellar.
As with most super bright pigments in nail colour, these colours took three to four coats before they would completely cover the nail. Even after letting each coat dry for up to a half hour each, when applying the next coat, the brush would pick up some of the dried coat and leave large brush marks and empty spaces behind every stroke. I would go back hours later to attempt to fix these spots, but could never get a smooth finish.
The colours apply matte, so you have to put a top coat on them if you want some shine, which wouldn't be an issue, except for the fact that, just as when you go to apply a second or third coat, the brush of the top coat leaves large streaking marks across the nail, devoid or partially devoid of nail colour. I have tried applying the nail colour on top of a base coat, and without a clear base coat, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference when it comes to staying power when touched by another brush. I have even left the colour to dry for a day, and still had the same results. If it didn't actually remove the colour below it, it would leave very rough brush marks, making the coat bumpy and unattractive.
Within one day of application, the nail colour starts to peel, despite the application of a topcoat. And if you apply jewels or other little glitzy touches, expect them to disappear very quickly, not only removing the jewel or sticker, but also removing every single coat of nail lacquer below it. I've been painting and experimenting with my nails since I was quite young, and many nail colours have disappointed me in different ways, but Salon Perfect is by far the most disappointing simply because it requires maximum effort, for a short-lived, bumpy, flaking result. I have tried using different top and base coats from different nail colour companies, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Really, the only good thing I have to say about this brand is that they DO offer a very large range of brights, shimmers, shines, glitters, etc., and look extremely attractive on the shelf. They are not a bargain brand by any stretch, so the price is absolutely not worth it.

After purchasing another brand of thick shadow pencils and being horribly disappointed with the amount of pigment, the staying power, the crease-resistance, and heat resistance that they offered with a high price tag, I decided to try a cheaper brand. This is how I came across the Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Creme Shadow Pencil in 133 Techno.
The consistency of this product is amazing, and for a creme/cream eye shadow, it holds up well against both heat and creasing. My eyelids are not super smooth, and after attempting to use creme shadows in the past I found them impossible. Wet n Wild is a name that I am super familiar with, having grown up in the 90s when their nail polishes were all the rage! Anyway, the pigment in this pencil is outrageous! The more expensive pencil that I had initially purchased left a very light, shimmery purple despite being advertised as being a deep, rich shimmery purple, but when I tried the Wet n Wild pencil, it gave me that awesome, deep purple I was looking for. I was very impressed that a cheaper brand beat out the more expensive, and pleasantly surprised!
If you're looking for rich colour, easy application, (I mean, what is easier than just running a fat pencil over your lids and boom! Done!), crease-resistant, heat-resistant, affordable creme shadow, this is the way to go. The pencil itself as far as length compared to other brands is much smaller, roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the size, but if you think about the coverage that the other brands offer compared to this pencil, you'd be using the first third of the larger pencil just to get something close to the depth of colour that you get with one pass of this pencil, so it works out in the end in my opinion. They come in a great range of colours, so if you're into bright, look at me eye colour, give Wet n Wild a try!

I take heavy prescription narcotics to treat chronic pain caused by a head-on car accident that happened in 2007, so I have digestive issues that are common among people who are on these types of medications. After being prescribed different laxatives that gave me terrible cramps and just made me feel all around awful, I started looking for a new option. When I was in the drug store one day I passed through the vitamin/supplement aisle to grab my vitamins, and stumbled across these wonderful, tasty morsels of fibre. The gummies are expensive, I believe I pay almost $25.00 for a bottle, and they last about a month, but I find that they are worth the cost.
Now to the nutritional side of these things, each serving, which is two easy to chew, well-flavoured (peach, strawberry, and blackberry), gummies, has 8 grams of dietary fiber, which is significantly more than a lot of other fiber gummies/capsules/drink mixes, and they are much more attractive an option. I was using Senosides, which are also a fiber-based laxative, but found that they either did too much, or too little to fix the problem. These gentle on the tummy/gut gummies do not cause cramps, you take them everyday, just as you would with any vitamin or supplement, and they have no sugar added, so they are tasty and good for you in more than one way. They keep your gut at a good balance, and I do not find that they cause diarrhea when used properly.
They do not actually list the caloric value of each gummy, but considering that they have no sugar added to them, I would assume that it is fairly low, but cannot say absolutely. You would have to do a little more research into them to find that out. The daily recommended amount of fiber for an adult is 25-30 grams, so they do give you quite a lot of your daily requirement for a supplement.
I chose gummies instead of pills because I already take a lot of medication in pill form, and the metamucil and other drink mix options seemed incredibly unattractive to me as a secondary option. Senosides did work, but I find that the gummies do not give the same discomfort, and if you need more dietary fiber in your diet, you can always chew a couple of extra gummies to help fill that void.
I hope this review was helpful, and gives you a good idea of what these are, and how they work. I recommend them to anyone who has bowel issues due to medication, IBS, or diet, or who just need a little extra fiber.
*Extra note* After writing this review, I did do a quick search to find more information on the nutritional value, specifically the caloric value, of these gummies. and could only find the caloric value for the 5 gram version of the gummies, which is 10 calories per serving. I would assume that the 8 gram version is very close to that.

My name is Mandy, and I am a sweater! Not a wearable sweater, an "oh my gosh people can see how nervous I am by the size of the sweat marks under my arms in this shirt" sweater, lol. To use the clinical term, I have a condition called Hyperhydrosis. This is a condition that MANY normal, everyday, beautiful women are dealing with in embarrassed silence. It is not caused by obesity, it is not caused by not bathing/showering adequately, it is not a product of poor diet, and it is not something that is easily dealt with. Not so long ago, the only way that you can deal with it is by using products such as crystal deodorants, or prescription roll-ons that one then had to cover in saran wrap overnight, all to little or no avail. Thankfully, it doesn't always have to be that way anymore! After using the aforementioned products with little result, I started using Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid Antiperspirant, and was amazed at how well it really worked. Nothing is going to completely end your sweating unless you have the glands removed, which is a medical option, but comes with great side-effects, and unwanted surgery. Lets just get it out there, EVERYONE SWEATS, it's just that society has made women feel bad about something that naturally happens to men and women. I chose the Completely Clean scent, as it was a scent I had tried in their regular antiperspirant. I find that, unlike some of the other clinical options that are gel or soft solids, this option is clean, doesn't leave you feeling like you've got something sticky in your underarms. The scents available are not the normal "clinical" smells that Degree and others offer up. I was thoroughly disappointed when the clinical antiperspirants first came on the scene because of the scents being something you would expect a label of "clinical" to smell like. Thankfully, Secret offers scents like the Completely Clean scent, as well as a Lavender scent that I found quite pleasant. The scent lasts through the day, and even if you're sweating hard from stress, or from working out, the scent remains. You do have to make sure that you wash your underarms very carefully when using this product so that your pores don't get clogged and cause a skin infection, (something that I ended up encountering, even though I was very careful about washing it all off), but it's not a terribly common problem from what I know about it. Secret has been around for a long time, and has always been a brand that women could rely on, and the clinical line is no exception. The sweat marks may not completely disappear, but they will be significantly smaller if you get them at all, and as I mentioned, the scent carries you through the day, and through to the next morning if you're out at the club all night. The price is significantly higher than regular Secret antiperspirant, but the benefit is very much worth the $7. You don't have to apply a lot of it to your underarms to make it work, so it does last a long time for the money, and the self-consciousness that it can help to lift is entirely worth it. Also, it doesn't wreck your clothes like some other clinical strength products do. I find that some other brands leave you with a permanent, pervasive white-tinted underarm on coloured t-shirts and long sleeved cotton shirts, but I have never found that with this product. As I said, if you have mild to moderate hyperhydrosis, you work out a lot, you stress about work, you move around a lot at work, whatever... Give it a shot! You will be pleasantly surprised! -

I know a lot of people who love this product, but I found it to be very frustrating when compared to others that I have tried from different cosmetics companies. The brush doesn't seperate the lashes very well, and I find that the formula that they have used to compose the mascara, clumps on the lashes, even when doing a first pass with the brush. The price compared to other cosmetic brands would be great if the product lived up to it, but because it clumps, and because, at least with my experience, the water-proofing doesn't work as well as others that I have tried, it should be significantly cheaper. I was disappointed, but when it comes to Rimmel as a cosmetics company and their other products, I'm not usually displeased. Just this one product, so please don't write off the brand. I am aware that a lot of lash maximizing formulas end up clumping lashes together to make them stand out, but this one seemed especially thick. Also, with most mascaras, particularly waterproof ones, when I blink after application to the top lashes, the mascara doesn't transfer to the skin below my bottom lashes. This product does seem to transfer as soon as I blink, and I leave a fair amount of time between application and blinking, but the clumping doesn't allow it to dry properly. Just all around kind of disappointed, as I said earlier. -

I take a lot of antibiotics as a result of a recurring infection that I have been fighting for years. For anyone who takes very strong antibiotics for extended periods of time, you know what it does to your body, and how it affects your lady parts after a while. The feeling is similar, and can also actually be, a yeast infection, but even with oral treatment and cream treatments, relief is not easy to find for the long-term. After seeing many commercials advertising products such as Vagasil and Summers Eve cleansers, and hearing about how they work to balance the PH levels that cause itching, burning, and even odd smells that come when the PH levels are not right, I thought it would be worth a shot. I have tried both the Vagasil washes, and Summers Eve, but find Summers Eve to have more product choices, a lower price, and an effectiveness that is just as high as the more expensive Vagasil choices, or the even more expensive than Vagasil, RePhresh choices. Also, if you are someone who is sensitive to actual soaps, these cleansers are a great choice. I use Summers Eve every time I bathe or shower, and find that I have far less issues, especially when taking the very strong antibiotics. It doesn't always save you from the yeast infection that those drugs can cause, but it does help to soothe, whereas soaps seem to aggravate the situation. Also, soaps are made for skin, not the more delicate mucus membranes that a woman has down there. I would recommend Summers Eve to any lady that is looking for something BETTER than soap, HEALTHIER than soap, and that leaves a LONGER feeling of being clean and fresh than soap, to use this product. If you feel like you'll be embarrassed buying a feminine hygiene product such as a cleanser, just think of it as you would if you were purchasing pads or tampons. This product doesn't mean that you're dirty or that you smell, or anything like that, it's simply an alternative to soap, so let the embarrassment fall away. I would advise against using the Summers Eve douche kits, but I always advise against ALL douching kits, as douching can really harm the delicate tissue, and cause a lot of very uncomfortable problems. They don't clean any better than a cleanser, and by forcing a cleanser up there, you end up stripping away the delicate PH balance. Just a note! -

I cannot live without my Downy Unstoppables! I use the "Shimmer" scent and cannot get enough. I use it on all of my regular laundry such as clothing, including my dress clothes that I couldn't really use a regular scented fabric softener on without fear of staining or damaging, as well as my heavier laundry items like bed sheets, comforter covers, etc. The scent lasts for weeks, and keeps my clothing from gathering any musty scent, even during the summer humidity when they would regularly get a bit of what I call the, "Small House Stink". Also, when I cannot dry certain items such as rayon clothing, dress pants, uniform items, etc., making it impossible to add a clean scent via dryer sheet, (and then getting the drip-dry musk), the Unstoppables give me another option for keeping things fresh. I am scent-sensitive to a certain degree, so I cannot use all of the scents, particularly the "Glow" scent, but I find the "Shimmer" to be a sweet enough scent that it doesn't contribute to sniffles and an itchy throat. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for an alternative to dryer sheets, or people like myself who use them WITH scented dryer sheets to make them stay fresh for even longer. Not recommended for people with severe scent-sensitivities, or ultra-sensitive skin, or allergies as they are quite strong. This is going to sound a bit strange, but if you're a cat owner you will understand, the scent of Unstoppables does NOT make cats go nutty, which is ALWAYS a plus (whereas some softeners and liquids can make them a bit squirrely). All-in-all... Good stuff! -
