When I opened the tin to smell the candle, it was a wonderful smell. It wasn't overpowering or unbearable. I could be around the smell and not have it bother me. It was very nice and when lit it burned just right. The only thing I would recommend is putting it on a trivet or a piece of metal so when the tin it is in gets hot it won't burn where you have it sitting. -
