This is a beer aged in oak whiskey barrels (they also have a rum version) from Scotland. The story goes that someone accidently put the beer in used barrels instead of new ones and the result was fabulous. It is a unique beer with a distinct whiskey/rum taste. It is stronger than your regular beer so a couple will make most people feel good, which helps balance out the higher price. If you can find it on tap at a pub I find it is best, but it is also available by the bottle (think the difference between guinness in a can vs on tap). Cheers. -
