As I was listening to David Bach's book on disc Debt-Free for Life I realized, I'm not in debt, not that I can't get out of anyways. There have been some good and bad things I have learned by listening to David's book. First off, it's geared to Americans so if you are Canadian and want to listen to this the basic information will be fine, but all in all it has American terms etc that we just don't have north of the border. I really did enjoy listening to the book, I was captivated by his thoughts and ideas, and they are good thoughts and ideas. The story about the credit card in the microwave proves how desperate people can be to spend money that just isn't theirs. I truly found it to be quite entertaining. I knew most of what he was talking about already, and just like every other "get out of debt" book I found myself thinking "you're telling me everything I already know, that's great but how do I get their from here" It's not enough just to pay off your debt, but he teaches us what to pay off first. He has a fantastic program to help you figure out what to do, when to start (NOW) and what steps are key to completing your goal of financial freedom. I personally LOVED listening to this audio book and I will be purchasing David's other books as well. If you are drowning in debt David might just be the life preserver you're looking for. I would recommend it for anyone in debt. -

The first thing I want to say about this movie is "Steve Urkel"!!! Okay, secondly, what a great movie for my children. My oldest daughter went to see it at a friends birthday party when it was in theaters and when it hit the shelves my middle daughter wanted to own it right away. We waited and gave it to her for Christmas, they watched it right away but my husband and I didn't sit down to watch it until tonight. We sat down and watched it with our little girl for a "movie night just the three of us" and he loved it, while I have mixed feelings. It's a fantastic children's movie I will give it that. But personally I was finding it hard to keep my attention in so many places throughout the movie. It was really fun for the children, they all seem to enjoy it and it was funny in some parts, but for me, they were few and far between. Actually, I was relieved when it was finally over, I was in shock (a little bit) when my husband said it was a really cute movie, but sometimes (a lot of the times) our tastes differ and that's fine. I just found it to be a little irritating. This young girl has her whole summer ahead of her, the one thing she looks forward to every school year and she made this fantastic "NOT Bummer Summer" plan and just because two of her "TP Club" members are going away for the summer and having adventures of their own, she gets jealous and miserable and lets her entire summer slip away not realizing what an amazing time she is and could continue to have IF she'd stop competing and just have fun! In the process of the "Dare Race" her two friends are away and having a wonderful time, completing dares and getting "Thrill Points" while hers are not coming at all. Everything she tries to do fails and she blames it all on the one friend that remains. Which of course will never end well, they have a fight and then her summer is ruined, yet again, I think by now we are at the sixth letdown of her not bummer summer. She reminded me of one of my own children, sulking because not everything goes her way. But I mean, for children they can relate to so much of this movie. So, I would say for the age category this movie is geared to it will be/is a hit, but for the older generations, don't be surprised when you don't like it much. -

I have tooth sensitivity, I try to pretend it's not there and I have never really had the problems or pains that I been experiencing in the last few months. I have always been a fan of Colgate it's the only toothpaste that I personally use. I will buy everyone else in my house whatever they would like but for me, nothing feels like Colgate. So, when I decided I had to do something for the pain of my teeth until I went to the dentist in the new year. I went into my local grocery store for dog food and remembered.....I needed to get some stuff....so I bought some mouthwash and I grabbed some Colgate Sensitive.
At first I likely looked a little lost standing in the toothpaste aisle of the grocery store with my 16 KG bag of dog food in one hand and my milk in the other, but I was so confused. I've seen the commercials for Sensodyne and Colgate, I believe there were two other kinds of "sensitive teeth" toothpaste there which didn't make my choice any easier at that moment. I mean, my gut instinct told me to stick with Colgate I trust them, love them and in my experience I don't like any other toothpaste brands. So, why was this so difficult for me? Well, all I can say is that the media got in my head and was pulling strings. But in the end I picked what I new and loved. I guess what? Yep, that's right, I love it. The box says that it will take two weeks for the product to fully work, but let me tell you, I could feel a difference during the first brushing. I have used it in the morning and at night and I have loved it. I can drink and eat, almost, anything again and it feels great. I mean, I have two cavities so I'm not going to be able to eat a lot of sugar and have no worries but the actual sensitivity from my teeth themselves (not the pain from the cavities) has been relieved so much. And if I do happen to eat something that bothers my teeth, like the delicious fudge I had last night at our new years eve gathering, well I will do as I did last night when ran right upstairs, almost in tears because my cavity was having a party of it's own in my mouth, dancing all over my tooth and bringing tears to my eyes. But what do I say about that......COLGATE SENSITIVE SAVED THE NIGHT!!! I brushed any little food that was on my tooth away, helped protect the surrounding teeth and I was in no more pain when I finished brushing.
I am so happy to have found this toothpaste, I really think it has become my new favorite. I love it!!!
Way to go Colgate, you made my mouth smile!

I have used huggies for the better part of 11 years and my husband bought these little movers diapers because they were on sale. I absolutely love them. They trap the moisture away from the skin and they are wonderful. I had to double check a few times because I didn't think my daughter had used the diaper. They do not bulge up like the other ones when they are the slightest bit wet. I hope they come on sale again as I would surely love more of them. -

Awhile ago I won a giveaway from a blog I had read and it was for Designerliners which you can purchase in multi-packs and some wholesale deals at Amazon, Alice and ebay. My favorite part about these liners is, aside from being biodegradable, they are too big for my office garbage can so they actually drape over the entire thing, which is great in my opinion because the design is only on the inside. They are pretty sturdy, I mean I don't throw many heavy bulky items away from my office, but there are pointy and poky things that I throw out on a daily basis. My trash can is colorful, and adds a little bit of piece to my office, making it feel a little more "creative". I will purchase these bags again in the future because they make me feel happy. They don't necessarily stand out in the trash bag world because they have some super strength that no bag before them has, but they do stand out because of their brilliant colors and beautiful designs. And for all you business savvy people, Murial Wiener (the founder and president of DesignerLiners) does custom designs. Get your business noticed on Garbage day too.
The slogan that DesignerLiners uses is "Dress the Mess" and they most certainly do that.

Since my oldest child just turned 11 I thought I would let you all know about this great little Balloon I found for her party. Above you will see the three packages that I purchased. I mean she's 11 now and regular old balloons just aren't "cool". So, she's having a few girls over for a sleepover and a few years ago we bought a disco ball and had a dance party. This year my husband is setting up DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) and we're having a dance party again, because lets face it she may be old, but she's still a little girl who loves to dance. I saw these illooms Balloons on sale (clearance actually) at Walmart in Watertown, NY. So, I grabbed three packages. And I love them. Sure they aren't going to light the way home but in the dark they are definitely bright enough to be cool, they are LED lights after all and the lights last 15 hours (we have had one lite since Nov 1st and it's still going). And kicking these around on the floor while dancing your butt off is so much fun. Not only do they add the fun to the party that all balloons do, but they also have the added touch of a bright glowing light. I'm sure some will glow brighter than others, but they are visible and so much fun.
You are cautioned not to pop these balloons, I repeat, please DO NOT POP these balloons. They come with a little tab attached to the inside that you simply pull off, it lights the LED light inside each and then you blow it up. You even get a measuring tape because you're not to blow them past 9 inches. Also in the kit is a little deflation sticker you stick around the tied end to cut it. These precautions are for the safety of the person using it. If you go to their website you will see illooms Balloons are simply a really cool added touch to any party or gathering. Oh, and did I mention you can have them "branded". How about that for the next wedding party you throw, or bridal shower, or corporate gathering?
Currently they are available at many retailers in the U.K., at Walmart in the U.S.A. and coming soon to Europe and the rest of the world, including Canada (where I'm from).
I give these balloons 11 out of 12 thumbs up (the one thumbs down is for the pain in the butt cutting the 40 balloons is, BUT it is well worth the fun of them)

I purchased my Motorola Xoom at Future Shop near my home for $499 and that included a free keyboard (price/offer matched from Staples) which I think isn't a bad price compared to the iPad2 which is $619. I would love an iPad because of all of the positive things I've heard about them but I opted for the cheaper, more practical for my pocket book. I mean money is not that easy to come by as a stay at home mom of four, a point my husband made to me after the fact, so regrettably I have since returned my Xoom. Heartbroken to have had to take it back because I LOVED my Xoom. I thoroughly enjoyed the setup options that I had and how I can adjust the layout and everything. My favorite part of the Xoom is that I could have any and all email addresses hooked to the email and easily in one step check to see any new email I may have from my business account, personal account, family account and of course scroll through my daughters account all on one easy to find and very easy to navigate email page. There are more than enough Apps for my needs. They have an AWESOME Christmas gift list App for FREE. And I looked on my iPod and it's not offered by iTunes, which is unfortunate because as much as I love the tablet it was not that convenient when it came to pulling it out in the grocery store to see what's on my grocery list, or whipping it out at Walmart to see who I still need Christmas presents for. But that is an issue you will have with any tablet that is 10.1 inches. I mean you get it for the size you have to deal with the size. They are just Netbooks without keyboards. I personally didn't have issues with my Xoom. I really enjoyed everything about it. There were points in which my facebook page needed a little extra time to catch up but all and all I would definitely consider buying another one if I had the money to do so. -

I first found out about the Pasta Boat at Walmart as it was on clearance(my favorite word). And I thought it would be perfect because my family loves pasta and my oldest daughter wants to help with dinner a lot. So I instantly bought it because I absolutely LOVE the idea behind the Pasta Boat, I've read the reviews, AFTER I used it just to see what other people were saying and from reading their reviews I would have thought it would be amazing. But, yet again, my AS SEEN ON TV experience did not stand up well. I personally don't find making pasta as tedious as the commercial for this product says, it's not hard work at all and they did make those pots with the colander lids (I don't have one of these pots) so it's not that horrible.
They say it takes less time but in fact the little book that comes with it says for a serving of 4 it takes 18-20 minutes, for my family of 6 it takes 22 minutes in the microwave to make pasta, that doesn't seem to be any faster to me than the old fashioned way of making pasta, and you still have to cook your sauce and meat (if you have meat) separately. Not only does it not do it quicker as promised, but I filled it up to the line it said to and it overflowed all over my microwave. There was water in the tray, in the very bottom under the tray, and splattered all over the microwave. When my daughter opened the microwave she was upset, she thought that she had done something wrong. Luckily she knew not to touch the water and she left the boat for us to get out. After I had finished cleaning up the mess in the microwave I told her she could drain the water out and instructed her to just tip it with the hole end down. She then said no water was left in it. My spaghetti was hard as a rock stuck to the bottom of the boat. Naturally I turned the hot water on and filled the boat back up, slowly stirring the spaghetti as to not wreck it anymore than I feared it was and it started to loosen up. After a few minutes it was swirling in the water the way it would have if I'd cooked it on the stove in the first place. I, personally, do not recommend this product. I followed the instructions, had a huge mess to clean up, my microwave was gross, the pasta was gooey and I just didn't have a good experience with it. Very disappointed with this product.
I give it 0 out of 6 thumbs up....they are all down :(

I was thrilled when I opened my email and read I was selected for a product review for Poise Hourglass Pads. I have, like most, seen them in the stores for awhile now and wondered if they actually worked. So here are my own personal thoughts on the product. I do like that it comes in a nice looking purple package, not too flashy but not plain either. I mean, I know that I have an tiny issue with LBL but I don't need everyone to see that. Also, when I opened the inside package their was so much purple design on it, totally not needed. I do think the detail is a nice added touch, but there is a lot of it and it's not needed. I don't know about everyone and I know these are not "period" pads but I'm going to compare them for a second here. I hate having my period, wearing pads all the time is not my idea of fun. I was thinking the Poise pads would be more pantyliner like. I didn't feel comfortable, I could feel the thick pad all the time and I don't like that at all. Wearing this pad all day is just too uncomfortable, I would rather wear nothing at all. I mean, sure, they absorb, but so would a pantyliner, I know a pantyliner wouldn't keep a flood back but if you have just minor leakage then why would you want to have this huge thing all day. I don't currently use anything for LBL but I would rather wear a smaller pad opposed to this huge one. It's easy to put on, very effective (there is enough of it) and I think it's cute in appearance. But I don't think I would consider buying them in the future unless then slim them down a little bit. I wouldn't recommend these pads to someone with minor leakage issues, but I would likely if someone mentioned it happening often or in excess. -
