I've been hearing about Starlink for a while and wanted to check it out. I really try not to get into games where you need to collect toys that take up room. I made that mistake with another huge brand because I'm a fan of everything they release and now those figures and accessory disks take up two drawers in my entertainment center. Although, I will say that accessory disks are much easier to store than physical accessories. With this game, you have various pilots, weapons, and fairly large ships to collect that will be a little hard to store unless you plan on keeping them on shelves.
Many reviewers had mentioned that their order was missing the disk, so I was a little worried. However, the disk was definitely included in my Xbox One set. Although, had it not been, all it would take is a phone call to the production company with a product number and probably your Amazon Order number (just in case). Another reason for the mix up may be that they were accidentally sent the set for a digital version, in which case there would be no disk. Either way, the Xbox One set that I received DID have the disk so that seems to be a fixed issue.
This is the starter set and comes with everything you need to play with. You can purchase other items for this pretty cheap in Clearance sections at a lot of stores. I picked up a few pilots and weapons for around $2 each at a popular variety store. The extras aren't really necessary, but they help out tremendously through out the game. The pieces are very well made. So if you have a kiddo that just wants to play with the pieces sometimes without the game, there isn't much worry about anything breaking as they seem to hold up well. The starter set comes with a black base piece that you snap onto your controller. This piece fits on really well and isn't going to just slide or fall off, so no worries about that. Then you put your pilot onto the base piece, followed by your chosen spacecraft, and then snap your chosen weapons to the sides. It seems bulky, but believe it or not, it still fits comfortably in your hand. Initially I was hoping that this was motion controlled, as in, when you move your controller left and right, it would move your ship left or right. It's not, which would have been a lot cooler. However, it's replaced by something just as cool: The ship and weapons light up on the controller.
Graphics are nice and clean with a lot of stunning visuals through out. Game play is quite easy to get the hang of and the story is actually pretty interesting and fun, making this great for both kids and adults alike. I will say this may not be great for someone who gets motion sickness easily. Myself, I can typically play adventure games and such, but if the screen is all over the place, I get sick within minutes. This is definitely that type of game since you are doing circles and nose dives and everything else while flying your spacecraft and warring with enemies.
It's worth it if you have the room and can pick up the extras when they are on sale (they usually are). My son and his dad have been having a blast with it.

Meltdown reminds me a bit of the classic game Jenga, but slightly different. It's a fast paced game of who can get rid of their toxic cubes first. But the trick is to be careful as you take turns stacking the cubes, because if they fall of slide off, you have to take the cubes that are no longer stacked.
The entire game is stored in the bottom part of the game's base, which is a toxic waste drum. Inside, there's the slippery toxic spill (plastic), toxic cubes (plastic), dice, and green goo. Thankfully the goo comes with a container that has a lid so that your goo doesn't dry out.
Both of my kids love this game and will spend hours playing. I can hear them out at the dining room table laughing and hollering and for once, not fighting with each other. So I think it gets a seal of approval not only from my 7 and 13 year old, but from this mom as well! My son especially loves it because he has been playing with it as part of his Ben 10 toys for pretend play when he's not playing the game. Since it's small and everything fits inside, there's no need to keep the box and it takes up less room on my son's gaming shelf.

These had a little more carbs than I like, however since I was eating them as the occasional treat, I could look past that. I'm a cheesecake lover so I'm pretty picky and these took a bit to get use to. I initially wasn't thrilled with them, but... +
