A word of caution though, the scent is this green apple kind of smell that's the same for every shade. I don't mind it, but it's sickeningly sweet for some people. -

After using twist-up lip pencils (like the Revlon ones), I've been spoiled and it annoys me that I have to sharpen pencils like this Nars one. It goes on pretty evenly but does stick to dry patches (not too noticeable though). The wear is good, as long as you don't eat or drink anything. Otherwise, it's what you'd expect from any lip colour- there's transfer and it wipes off. For the price, I don't think I would repurchase -
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin-E & Peppermint
I really like Burt's Bees products as they are quite moisturizing. The only thing that bugs me about it is that I need to apply several layers before I feel like I can comfortably put the chapstick down without having to reapply in 5 minutes!

I'm not sure how much it's worth, since I haven't actually used many lip stains, but this is favourite! It goes on smooth like a balm but without the waxy or sticky feeling that comes with some of them. The colour is pigmented and flattering for most skin tones, I believe, but not too bold that it couldn't be worn every day. The stain has lasted me all day the first time I wore it, but only a few hours the next time I used it. I'm not sure what I did differently but I'll be sure to test out its wear again. -

I'm not sure how much it's worth, since I haven't actually used many lip stains, but this is favourite! It goes on smooth like a balm but without the waxy or sticky feeling that comes with some of them. The colour is pigmented and flattering for most skin tones, I believe, but not too bold that it couldn't be worn every day. The stain has lasted me all day the first time I wore it, but only a few hours the next time I used it. I'm not sure what I did differently but I'll be sure to test out its wear again. -
