We were pleasantly surprised to receive the Cakey Kitchen Set for review. We expected a small playset, so when the big box arrived, my daughter was even more excited. A fair bit of assembly is required, but saying that, my daughters (age 6 and 9) did almost all of it by themselves.
The details are so thought out, and perfectly reflective of Gabby's dollhouse - from cute 'pictures' on the fridge, to cat shaped items, to a fun kitchen menu. My daughter has spent a lot of time playing kitchen with it each day, inviting guests to come to her restaurant and watch her cook their chosen meal.
My only complaint would be that a couple of the food items are made of cardboard, so I am not sure how long they will last.
This is a great set, that although large doesn't take up too much space, and provides a lot of enjoyment and learning for children.

My husband and I have been trying Irish Spring Body Wash for this review.
From a female perspective, I found the smell while applying to be too strong. I was worried that the scent would remain strong on me after the shower, but surprisingly was just a mild, pleasant scent afterwards. I did enjoy a clean feeling.
I like the texture of the body wash. It was easy to pour. A little amount would still give good lather. I found it easy to wash off and did not feel sticky afterwards.
I would not purchase this product in the future for myself. It is a product directed at men, and was a bit too strong a smell for my liking.
From a male perspective, my husband liked the idea of having a body wash to take with him to hockey, so he could easily shower after a game. Though he found the product worked well, he did not like that he had to return to the bottle so often to get more body wash to cover his body. He is not the type to use a sponge, which I think would help the product last longer, so he just applied with his hand. Overall he liked the body wash, but much prefers the ease of using Irish Spring in bar soap.

As I was not familiar with Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, I was disappointed that there were no instructions on the sample packet. I was not sure if I was to wash the oil off afterwards or not -- it seemed repetitive to wash a cleanser off, but after using I did feel the need to clean the oil off.
The oil was very runny, which caused some mess. Not sure if this was amplified because of the sample packet (maybe the full-size container would have a more controlled pour). The product rubs onto the face easy, with no issues. I used a make-up removal wipe afterwards to remove excess oil, and found no trace of make-up, so it seems the Shu Uemura cleansing oil did its job. My skin did feel more supple, so I feel this product helped with dryness.
I'm not sure if I would use this product again. Perhaps I used too much product, but I found there to be too much oily residue left, so felt the need to wipe it off, which almost felt like double cleansing.

I enjoyed using the CoverGirl Simply Ageless Lash Plumping Mascara. The mascara brush has a slight curve to it, which helps with separating and elongating lashes. The wand is comfortable to hold and easy to use. The black mascara was dark, but not an extreme black. I liked that the end result was quite natural for me. In comparing my eyes when I applied the mascara to one eye and not the other, my lashes were noticeable darker and longer. I did not have issues with clumping. The mascara lasted all day, and did not rub off onto my face. I used a makeup wipe to remove the mascara, and found it easy to remove. I would purchase this product again. -

The Less is More game from Spin Master offers a fun game for children and adults. It allows players to be creative and succinct in their responses, which is harder than it seems, especially when on a time limit. A great number of answer cards are included, allowing for hundreds of rounds without repeating.
Recommended age is 8. We played with a younger child (6 1/2) and it was a bit too difficult for her. Saying that, as an adult I also found it challenging - trying to offer a good clue to the secret word in as few letters as possible is difficult.
With 3 players, we played several rounds, and enjoyed the game. We were not always successful in figuring out the secret clue. I think this game would be most fun with a lot of players (6 is the maximum).
The only issue we had was with the white boards. The marker erasers did not clean them very well. We ended up using wipes as well. But, after a few rounds, a hue of black remained and you could even see some of the erased letters. I was able to clean the boards more thoroughly using a household cleaning tool. For this, I have taken off a star.

We enjoyed using the Cool Maker Stitch N Style sewing machine. Everything you need is included in the box. I like that there is a secret compartment in the side of the machine that you can store the accessories in.
Using the sewing machine was a bit of a learning curve. The instructions were quite detailed, but even so we had a few difficulties along the way. We found the automatic feeder to move very quickly so it was a challenge to get a straight stitch line. A couple of times the stitches did not come at all even though the needle was threaded.
The instructions printed directly on the fabric were helpful.
My daughter is 9, but has no experience with a sewing machine. The Cool Maker Stitch N Style is suitable for older children, or likely those who have had previous experience.
It is a great idea - an all in one item.
Although our end results did not turn out overly great, it was fun to get to make our own items.

Chapman's ice cream always has a lovely texture and flavour to it. Chapman's Original Canadian Maple Crunch Ice Cream follows suit. Smooth and creamy, a delicious vanilla ice cream with the added flavour of maple. The kids loved seeing the maple leaf in the centre. I personally prefer ice cream on cones, so wouldn't normally slice it. I enjoy maple flavour, but would have preferred it to be a bit stronger in this ice cream. I really only noticed the flavour when eating the centre maple leaf, where the maple was most concentrated. There are crunchy maple bits throughout the rest of the ice cream, but I didn't notice them at all in flavour or texture while eating. Overall, Chapman's Original Canadian Maple Crunch Ice Cream was a hit with the kids, but not a clear favourite for the adult. -

I have been using the L'Oréal Paris Wrinkle Expert 45+ Night Moisturizer for about a week now. Using it in conjunction with the L'Oréal Paris Wrinkle Expert 45+ Day Moisturizer, I have noticed positive results in a short time. My skin has felt plumper, soft and hydrated.
The cream is a bit thick, but applies well. The thickness makes me feel as though it is an extra layer of protection. By morning, the lotion had fully absorbed and left no residue.
I will continue to use this product and see its long-term effects on wrinkles and firmness.

First impression - I love the container. Very pretty and elegant looking, with a very smooth lid adding a nice tactile experience. The cream has a slight fragrance to it, but the scent didn't linger once applied. The cream is a bit thicker than my usual brand, but still easy to apply and absorbs well. I did feel that I noticed it on my face more than my usual brand, but not enough to be a deal-breaker. After using for a few days, my skin did feel softer and plumper/hydrated. I would have to use this more long-term to see if it has any affect on reducing wrinkles. Overall I enjoyed using L'Oréal Paris Wrinkle Expert 45+ Anti-Wrinkle Day Moisturizer and am happy with its performance so far. -

I received a sample of the CoverGirl Weightless Water Cream for review. #gotitfree The cream is not to thick, and applies nicely on the face. It truly does feel like water in cream form. The cream absorbed quickly and did not leave any sticky feeling. Putting on make-up afterwards was easy and not affected by the cream.
The CoverGirl Weightless Water Cream claims to offer 72-hr hydration. On the first day of use, my skin does feel soft and more supple than usual.
I would continue to use this product and purchase it in the future. I would be excited to see changes to my skin based on long-term usage.
