I'm all about volume, especially at the root (see what I did there?) Roots Hair Treatment sounded like something too good too pass up when the brand offered a selection of hair products for review purposes, as it's a scalp and hair treatment designed revitalize roots and scalp.
Roots is formulated with a whole lotta mint- mint infusion and mint oils- to stimulate the scalp and olive oil and honey to condition hair. The treatment applies like a mask, as you slather it on and leave it for 5-10 minutes before shampooing out. It has a really nice minty scent, and feels nice on the scalp- a little tingly!- while it's doing it's thing. I love that it only needs a few minutes, as you can easily pop it on in the morning before your shower. The product washes off super easily with shampoo and doesn't leave any sort of 'feel' on hair. So, does it work? I'd like to think so. I found that once my hair air dried- Lush suggests air drying hair after use- my hair did feel really good- better than if I had just shampooed normally. I didn't use conditioner after the treatment, and found my hair was completely soft and didn't need it. My hair felt full and thick, and my scalp felt fresh and somehow cleaner. It's an odd feeling to describe, but a great one too feel. I found my hair stayed cleaner longer after using this too- especially at the roots- which is awesome as I have a high maintenance colour and wash my hair as little as possible.

This is my HG (holy grail) toothpaste! How can you have a HG toothpaste? I know, it seems odd, but I love this toothpaste. I bought it once on a whim, and initially hated it because you can kind of taste the baking soda and feel a bit of the grit in it. It's something I got used to and don't even notice anymore, but what really sold me is that it's not too minty- strong mint in the morning makes my stomach upset- but still leaves my breath fresh and smelling clean AND the fact that it noticeably whitens teeth. I didn't expect to notice any effect, but I totally did, and really, who doesn't want whiter teeth? -

I don't think you'll find many beauty junkies that don't have the UD Naked palette (or at least on version of the three) While I have them all and love them all for their various differences, I tend to find myself reaching for the first Naked palette most days as the golden/bronzey/neutral shades are just so perfect for day to day use. As with all UD shadows, the quality is simply perfection- they're silky, smooth, easy to apply and blend and so pigmented. Perfect shadows all in one place at a pretty decent price. -

I received the Cinnamon Bun and Devil's Food Cake scent from the brand for review purposes and have become an even bigger Demeter fan! I've always had a soft spot for the brands spray on scents, but their home offerings are just as great. The oils come in a glass bottle with reeds you can pop in, but I like to decant the oil into a small vase just to make them a little prettier. I find that their scents are so great because they're so natural- they smell like what they say they are without any kind of artificial weirdness in the mix. While I love the scents, I don't find they have a massive amount of throw, which is fine if you don't need to scent a large room. The scent is mild and not overpowering, but enough to be noticed and enjoyed and quite long lasting. Overall, good stuff! -

I always lust over Smashbox palettes, but can usually talk myself out of actually buying then on account of the fact that I really don't need any more eyeshadow, but the cherry inspired hues of the Cherry Smoke palette won me over. The shades are all rather neutral and not a literal take on the cherry theme, but they incorporate the idea of cherry in shades with red and pink undertones. The reddish shades are paired with perfectly co-coordinating neutrals that work to create both subtle day looks and bolder smokey looks. The quality of the shadows is amazing- as it the norm from Smashbox- with none of the shades lacking in pigmentation. Overall, this is an excellent addition to any makeup collection, as the cherry theme makes it that little bit different from many of the neutral palettes on the market. -

When it comes to Gain products, I always opt for Apple Mango Tango, but I spotted a giant tub of the Moonlight Breeze Flings on sale, and it was just too good a deal to pass it up. These not only wash clothing well, but they smell SO FREAKING good- yup, they smell that good. They're super easy to use as you literally just fling one into the washer and that scent... can't get enough of it! -

The Family Fang is a book I've had for a while and decided I had better get to it sooner than later as it is being made into a movie (directed and staring Jason Bateman.) I always like to read to book first, and can see why this would be chosen for film adaptation. It's a quirky story about two siblings and their performance artist parents. The parents go missing and it's up to the Fang children (now adults) to try and figure out their eccentric parents whereabouts while trying to decipher their relationship to each other and make sense of their unique upbringing. The story was interesting and made for an enjoyable fast read. -

This powder is like no other. It's texture is soft, smooth and finely milled giving an almost creamy feel. It's the type of product you just want to keep swatching. When applied on skin, the powder aspect of this vanishes; meaning there is no tell-tale powdery-ness or cakiness. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect in terms of wear and usage from this, but after playing with it, I find it works well as both a setting powder and a finishing powder. I don't get particularly oily throughout the day thanks to my drier skin, but this does work nicely to set foundation and concealer (especially under the eyes) and wears well all day. What little oiliness I can get is minimized by this, but it may not be sturdy enough on it's own for those with oilier skin.
The Ambient Lighting Powders are currently available in six shades that are all created to be universally flattering while mimicking the perfecting qualities of various forms of light. I was instantly drawn to Mood Light as it's description is just so appealing- 'A soft, sheer lavender pink that mimics the softest, most forgiving light and brightens the complexion.' Mood Light is a very natural lavender-pink tone that doesn't change your skin tone, but gives your skin a boost. It's not something that's easy to pinpoint as the finish is subtle, but I like to think of it as a makeup product that looks like you've got better skincare. Does that make any sense? Let's just say that it gives the effect of naturally beautiful skin when applied over makeup.

I am a major reader, and while I had no interest in this book, I couldn't help but give it a read to see what all the hype was about. Rather, I should say try and read this book. Now, I knew going into it what the subject matter was, that didn't phase me, it was the writing. It read as if a middle school student wrote it- no offense to middle school students- but it just seemed like it was so poorly planned and executed. The characters were not only detestable, but also underdeveloped, unrelatable, and really just bland. On top of all that the writing style was poor. The grammar and general prose lacked any skill or thought. Ugh. Not a good read. -

Swedish Berries have always been one of my favourite candies, so when I saw that Dare had created a naturally flavoured version I had to give them a try. The verdict? OMG the best thing ever! These have the best flavour- they have a really great rasperry taste- and have the perfect soft and squishy but chewy texture. I will never go for basic Swedish Berries again- these are just too good and you can't help but love that they are naturally flavoured and have no artificial colouring. -
