I used this product when I over processed my hair with bleach and it became "stretchy and mushy" when wet which is a sign that you need protein. I desperately needed it, and this product filled the protein wonderfully and brought my hair back to normal. I stopped bleaching (obviously) and then reapplied this as needed (about every 2 months) until my hair grew out and was healthy again. Warning if you hair is snapping off it means you need moisture not protein so this will not work! Protein on hair that needs moisture will potentially do more harm than good. Also you need to follow this up with a good deep conditioner. The second step in this "2 step treatment" is a super nasty smelling conditioner that I did not like so I didn't use it after the first treatment. Luckily I only bought a small bottle of each step the first time around. I repurchased step one in a BIG bottle. Step one is kinda stinky (like eggs) and messy (really runny) but once you apply it all over hair, blow dry it until it is stiff (do not agitate hair while product is on hair or it could break!) and then rinse it out it is well worth the ickiness! I am not planning on bleaching my hair to that point again, but I am a big fan of at home dyes, usually permanent, which are not the best for hair, so every once in a blue moon I still use this product. Be careful though, if you use it on hair that is not needing protein, or don't follow the instructions you could end up with a problem! It is available at Sally Beauty Supply. -

Ok, this is a very good mascara. I was super in love with it for about a year, repurchasing once. The reason I didn't give it full points is because it is very expensive ($35 I believe) and I actually find my $5 Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume mascara to be just as good for my needs. This Chanel Mascara is a VERY good product and I love it, but when I can find a product i like just as much for so much cheaper I am going to go with that one. I don't shy away from expensive products, except when there is a cheaper alternative that is on par. Essence is a bit clumpier but I kind of like that in a mascara because I am odd that way. I like to pair both of these mascara with the Lancome lash primer for extra oomph and easier removal. -

Well, like most Essence products it is very well priced. Unlike other Essence products, I didn't really care for this product. It left too much of a white cast on my face and left my skin too texturized. I didn't try it with a setting spray afterwards, but the white cast was enough of a turn off for me. I am a huge fan of several Essence products, but not every one is a hit with me, and this is one of them. But I usually find that with face makeup I prefer high end (I am 34 so i do all i can to make my skin appear smooth and line free :)), while lips, mascara, eyeliner and blush I can get away with going with drug store or bargain brands. Pass on this one. I wont say it is terrible or doesn't work, because I am sure if i had no other option I could make it work somehow but i don't really want to put that much effort into it! -
I am an avid non-washer meaning I use a LOT of dry shampoo and this has to be the worst one I think I've ever tried. On second day hair (and I usually go about 6 without washing) it made my head feel dirty as hell! worse than without any product!... +

On second day hair (and I usually go about 6 without washing) it made my head feel dirty as hell! worse than without any product! Maybe I was spraying in too much or too closely but for me I want a product that is a "no brainer" if I am going to be using it a lot. I prefer to use the powder formats that you apply with your hands or a powder brush i.e.:Cake Beauty, Alterna Caviar, even plain foot powder works better than this. If I had to go with a spray format batiste and klorane are both pretty good. I threw the can of Tresemme out after just a few tries. -
I never really got the cult following this mascara has. i found it to be very smudgy/flaky and not really much of any lash building or lengthening going on! to each their own though!

Oh god i had to return this because it irritated my eyes so badly. I am not that sensitive in the eye area and it made me so itchy and watery and red! terrible.

first i need to make fun of the fact that this is a dry shampoo that boasts anti aging abilities. lol Other than that though GREAT product. I am a huge dry shampoo user (not the spray kind, the powder kind) and this has been my absolute favourite thus far. It is very finely milled so it brushes out very easily leaving no residue. It also has that great spicy scent of all the other Alterna Caviar line (though you won't smell it after applying). It is a little bit expensive but you get what you pay for, and i found mine at Winners for only $12. I would pay full price though. -

I bought a LIter of this and the conditioner and I use them both as shaving cream for my legs now. -

Bought this because I wanted something that would ensure all my makeup was removed after cleansing, but wouldn't dry my skin out. It is described as a "moisturizing toner" but within a week I could see little fine lines forming all over due to dryness. I stopped using it and the lines went away. Sigh, waste of money. However when reviewing skin care it is important to remember that every skin type will react differently so if dryness isn't a concern for you, might as well try it because Caudalie is a pretty good skin care line. -
