I'm not a huge nail varnish snob and generally I only put it on my toes changing out colours usually on a weekly basis but I do love to have the hot colours for a season so anything under $5 that works decently is good in my book.

The brush is a little cheap, and usually with the deep colours you need at least 3 coats, but again it's not that expensive. there are a few stand out items in the Essence line and this is one of them. -

The colour I received is Rouge Escarpin. A classic red. It went on smoothly although the brush was a bit big for toe nails so I did find I was cleaning up a fair bit. Seems shiny and dried evenly after 2 coats.

Again trying things in my Shoppers Drug Mart 2015 Gift with Purchase and these are almost comical. The product is quite rich and touted as a serum but I think I might do better to wait until winter when my skin is stressed and dehydrated, as it is quite oily. But it's the delivery that got my laughing. They're packaged as little capsules with instructions to twist gently and squeeze the serum out, except that is my clumsy hands the capsules acted like an over anxious beau and I ended up with more of the product shooting an arc across my bathroom than in my hands! You need to take a little pair of scissors and cut the tip off and even then you still get a little spurting action.
I probably won't buy it again, but I'll giggle.

Got a sample of this is a Summer 2015 Shoppers Gift with Purchase, and apparently it will not be released until Fall of 2015. Although a little rich for my normal to oily skin (it's touted as a Normal to Dry formula) it is as advertised. A gentle, simple moisturizing cream. Listed as under $20 for what looks to be a 50 ml bottle I may consider adding it to my arsenal. I do like to switch up formula's and sometimes you need a simple one. I'm also curious if they have a day SPF version. No news on that so far. -

When I was a teen, there were all sorts of low cost masks you could buy, in tubes, but they all seem to have gone by the wayside, except for a few from St. Ives. The clay mask is pretty standard, that strange green colour we all expect masks to be and it works well. Certainly can't complain when a tube costs about $9 and lasts, as opposed to those single use sachets at about $1.66 each. Also really handy for using as a spot treatment for those stubborn pimples that sit under the skin. -
I tried a sample of this, and using much less than recommended, I found it did add to the feeling of fullness in my hair, but didn't last more than a couple of washes. It's just as easy to use a 'thickening' styling product, so i'm not certain I'll... +

Because I don't have a/c in my south facing apartment, i rely on fans in the summer to move air. In the end if it's really hot I just want air to move over my skin. I had a turbo fan and liked it, but after 3 summers of being on for about 4 months it died. I decided to purchase the Honeywell mostly because it was half the price, when on sale. The fan is bulky, it's sold as 18" but really is closer to 2 feet in width. But it does seem to move air. I was able to push a lot of the evening air in to cool my apartment using the lowest setting. It's not 'quiet' but you're moving air, so you put up with some noise. I've only had it a few days, and I generally find that fans seem to work for about 2 to 3 seasons of being used 3 to 4 months at a go, and considering that cat hair gets in there, so if this lasts me through a few summers i'll be satisfied. -
