This is a very basic night cream, no promises of much, but it was onsale and the winter had taken its toll. I wasn't certain if it would be too rich or make me break out but neither happened and the cream does a very good job of tightening up my skin and making me look good the next morning and as a bonus my cat likes to lick it off my face.
the only drawback so far is that it does make my eyes water a bit when first applied if i get it too close. but it's short lived.

this was a sachet sample in a magazine that promised results 'after 1 day'. well i didn't wake up with dry patches like the last olay product i used but i wasn't exactly all new and shiny. for the price you can do better.

i've had many a discussion about mayonnaise vs. salad dressing but i fall to the side of mayonnaise so i always have a jar of hellman's in my fridge. i don't actually go through a jar in a year, although it seems to last fairly well past it's suggested due date. however it drives me nuts that the half sized jar is almost the same price as the full sized jar - i feel like i'm being penalized for buying what i'd consume, but contributing to food waste if i'm buying the bigger size. -
i didn't seek this out so much as buy it because it was on offer. in fact that's largely how i always buy cooking oil. i don't really notice a big difference between brands and again wouldn't specifically seek out Becel.

Received this as a sample from SDM and tried it but as I suspected, it didn't take my eye makeup off, so I ended up looking like a racoon and had to fish out some eye makeup remover to finish the job. Basically this felt like an updated version of the old makeup remover cream as it left a bit of a residue on the skin too. Since I like my face wash to take off my eye makeup, I won't be recommending this one. But if that isn't a concern and you have drier skin you might like this one. -

I want two basic things from a cleanser. I want to not have residue or a tight feeling after I wash and I want all my make up, including the eye make up removed. This failed on the eye makeup removal. Twice. I didn't get it all off in the evening, took an actual eye make up remover to it, and there was residue still in the morning, tried the Burt's Bee's again and the residue still didn't move.
The actual cleansing part is OK. You massage in the oil dry and then add water which essentially 'melts' the cleanser. There's no tight feeling and the smell isn't overly fake or flowery.

St. Ives used to have a mineral scrub that I really liked but as i suspect it had microbeads i wasn't entirely surprised when it was not longer available. I've tried a few since but have yet to find anything finely milled that I liked. I bought this recently and found it was quite fine and didn't feel like it was digging into my face like some course scrubs do. The smell is fruity and not too overwhelming and it rinsed off easily. Not certain that it brightens but for the price i think i'll keep this one in the shower. -

I received a sachet sized sample of this shampoo and the conditioner and overall i was underwhelmed. Unfortunately because this was 'repairing' i was going to end up with greasy hair by the end of the day and i did, even though i used a very small amount of the conditioner and rinsed it out several times. the biggest issue though was the very strong smell of honey that I found overwhelming and i considered washing my hair again a few times.
i think this is not geared at anyone with normal hair that tends toward greasy with the wrong products.

I have never really understood why make up companies mix eye shadow palettes with lip palettes as I'm never going to carry my eye shadow around but i do carry lip products in my purse, so when I saw a lip palette I was interested. I've had lipstick palettes in the past but they are hard to find. this is really more of a hybrid between gloss and lipstick, as it goes on with your finger but sets up as a demi matte with decent coverage. I've tried all the colours in the Plum palette and each one a variation on a theme but distinct enough. overall i'm pretty impressed. -

I've been curious about the pore refining machines but I didn't want to fork over all that money and in the past when i've used manually facial brushes i haven't really seen much of a difference but this little gem has proved to do a really good job in its first use. basically you use your own favourite face wash, I've tried both a lathering and non lathering kind, with the same results, and rub away. i'll admit i was a little overzealous today so i was a bit red when i was done but this 'brush' takes the black out of blackheads, which for someone like me who has larger pores making them appear smaller. I'll probably have to back off to avoid over exfoliating, as i've used this every second day for the past while but i'm amazed at the results. -
