I attended a yoga retreat with Trish Stratus here and I was unbelieveably impressed with her studio. It's one of a kind studio in Vaughan, right beside Vaughan Mills. Her studio has three different room, including one for hot yoga, so a few classes can run at a time. And each of the studios has that zen feel you'd expect in a yoga class, right down to the bamboo floors. The change rooms too have Trish's personal touches. The sinks, walls and lockers remind you of a spa when you step in. And why not, you are there to rejuvenate yourself. Ever the stalls have a tiny spray, to cover and odours. There are three different levels of class, so beginners can get a taste of yoga to hot yoga that makes you sweat like crazy. I would definitely go back. -

Alanna the First Adventure is the first in the Song of the Lioness Quartet. The series follows a girl as she disguises herself as a boy to become a night. It's teen fiction, but whatever, I love them. My copies of these books are as creased and stained as my Harry Potter books, the signs of love and care, and how many times I've reread them. Just like HP, I was reluctant to read them and then was hooked on the series. It has everything you could ask for in a book, a love story, war, family, and a plot to murder the king. -

Every summer I go through a phase when I read a lot. So, like everyone who reads a lot, I went through a "classics" phase. I absolutely fell in love with this book. The heroine Lily Bart is tragic, a little shallow and you can't help but want things to work out for her. It's Romeo and Juliet -esque ending had me in tears. -

I went out and bought the second book in the Hunger Games series before I even fished the first. I was about 20 pages away from finishing and knew that I had to find out what happens to Katniss, Peeta and Gale. It was amazing, I finished reading it is three days. I haven't been sucked into a series like this since Harry Potter but I'm so glad I've found a series that has me reading again. The heroine Katniss is really that, a heroine and I like that she is a strong female to contend with in the Hunger Games. And the affable Peeta reminds me a tiny bit of Neville in the Harry Potter books, a little bit hopeless but you can't help but love him. -

I have this eye liner in Baked (a coppery-gold colour) and I love it when I want dramatic eyes for a night out. The brush is very thin so it can be layered over regular eye liner without creating a mass of sparkles on your eye. I've found that the glitter does move if your sweating a lot, but otherwise, it stay put. -

I was given this product to try and I was really excited to try what was touted at Kate Middleton's moisturiser of choice. I'm not sure what it is, but something in this moisturiser did not sit well with my skin. After a few uses I found my skin itchy, red and rash like. This bumps took close to a week to go away, so I'm sceptical to try the rest of the natural product line. -

I tried these out in the office and left them on all day. To be honest I had to get Jenni to put them on for me since I'm a little less experienced in the fake eyelashes department. I tried a set of really thick dramatic ones that would look amazing for a night out, and when cut in half looked fairly natural in daylight. Even the glue worked quite well. I put them on during the day, went to a party that night and woke up with my falsies still in place the next morning. -

Last Friday I was invited to enjoy breakfast at Menchies, a frozen yogurt shop like no other. Needless to say it wasn't the healthiest of breakfast options, but in terms of dessert I was assured that Menchies is low fat. I was sold. The pink and green decorated shop looks like a heathy(ier) version of candyland, with a yogurt bar on one wall, where you serve yourself whatever flavour's of fro-yo you desire (I tried the classic vanilla-chocolate twist, and a mocha chocolate banana combo later). Then you can help yourself to as many toppings as you want, from nuts, to banana chips, fruit (for the breakfast version of a fro-yo) or all kinds of chocolates and syrups. By my calculations, my first helping was around 300 cals, not bad for a dessert. I like to think of it as a guilt-free treat for yourself on a hot summer afternoon. -

This product promises to be non-whiteneing and the woman at Your Good Health talked me into buying it because I am SPF obsessed (PS watch that store, they will try to talk you into anything used-car salesmen style). If you already have chapped lips, watch out. It turns them white and doesn't help with the dry lips at all. Nice that it's organic, but I'd like it better if it worked. -

I am obsessed with Marble Slab. It's been in Newmarket for a few years and was stoked when it came to Toronto. I always find the staff quick and helpful when I ask "what's good?" Since I am always overwhelmed by the choices. The price is a little outrageous but in my mind, it's totally worth it for a treat once in a while. -
