M.A.C Satin Lipstick

I am shamelessly in love with red lipstick. And MAC Red She Said lipstick is by far my favourite. It's a true red, with no pink or orange tints to it. What I love most about this lipstick though is how smooth it goes on. I like it's matte finish, but if you want shine, layering on a little clear lip gloss makes for a dramatic look. Also, a tip from the girls at the MAC counter, layer lip liner underneath. Red is tricky to wear so line your lips first, and if you're planning any lip action use the liner to fill in your lips as well. -

This store opened two years ago on Queen St West. around the time I was looking for my prom dress. I was there the week after it opened and had an absolutely amazing experience. The girl working there had no trouble helping me find a dress that I liked, despite the seemingly endless options. The entire lower floor is shoes and accessories, while the upper floor is all dresses. They are a little on the pricey side, but sometimes it's worth it. I also had the chance to meet the owners, a husband and wife team, since they were still setting up and they know the prom dress business pretty well. The husband, whose name I can't remember, helped my decide what colour shoes I should wear and how to do my hair, once I fell in love with a dress. He also regaled my mom and I with stories of old business ventures, parties he has attended and his guitar loving son. If I had a reason to shop there again, there is no question that I would. -

I've tried so many cleansers that promise perfect skin and don't deliver but the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser does exactly what it says it will, it cleans my face. It's great for taking dirt oil and make up off my face. There's no fruity smell, but it does the job. It leaves my skin clean and oil free. -

I'm not the type to get my eyebrows waxed very frequently, so I rely on tweezers to get the job done. Used on a slant, the tweezers grab a few hairs at a time, and the pointed end is better for more precise plucking. These tweezers for a good job of grabbing even the tiny hairs from the root. What I like most though, is that it costs roughly $15 every time you get your eyebrows waxed, but tweezers you buy once and use them until you lose them (under a couch somewhere never to be seen again). -

I originally borrowed this moisturizer from my roommate when I ran out and immediately fell in love. After the first time I used it my skin felt so much softer. Not to mention, I have fair skin so I'm always worried about sun damage, in the summer yes but even the little sun we see in the winter causes damage, so I was glad this moisturizer has SPF 15. -

The patio at Hemingway's in Yorkville is to die for. At night when it gets a bit chilly, it's got outdoor heaters, so even though I forgot my sweater when I went, I was still toasty. The menu is pretty classic; salads, sandwiches and burgers. But the food was good, and the waiters were friendly. Rumour has it they also have a brunch menu, and I'll definitely be going back to try that out. -

I have a few Essie nail polishes and I kind of love them. The thin formula is nice, but usually need a second coat. That being said, I find I need a second coat with most polishes I use. Every summer I paint my toes red, and Forever Yummy is by far my favourite red this year. It's a bright red that really stands out on my toes, and I love that the brush is small enough that I can paint my baby toes. -
