Subversive Squirrel is a peanut lovers dream. It has large pieces of peanut brittle through the bar and then piles of peanuts sprinkled on the top. Some parts of the brittle were fairly thick if you are not into crunchy stuff and it is very rich tasting.
Like the others, the dark chocolate (and it very dark chocolate) doesn’t have that chalkiness that other gourmet dark chocolates suffer from which is great.
I personally think I would have liked this better if the chocolate was not quite so dark. It has a great name though so it rocks!
While I personally would not buy it again, it is not based on the quality, more personal preference on the taste/ingredients.

I actually thought that this would be my favourite when I first read the descriptions. I think mine may have been a bit more more than 50% dark. In my images, you can see the smaller amount of milk chocolate.
It was still delicious, but if you prefer milk, it is worth noting that the handmade nature of Baroness Chocolate means that you may not get exactly as advertised.
That being said, the chocolate was delicious and you can tell that Baroness Chocolates puts a lot of care into their chocolate. The dark chocolate was deep but not that chalky bitter chocolate you get from some of the “gourmet” chocolate places that have popped up recently and I really enjoyed it.
While fairly expensive, it is rich and a little goes a long way.

So often, you see advertisements for chocolate and the bar is nothing like it. Dob Dobs is a little different looking from the packaging but that is actually a good thing. They have taken the pecans that encrust the top in the images and put them inside so the caramel melts around it and you don’t get nuts crumbling off while you try to eat it.
The semi-sweet chocolate has a bit of bitterness but nowhere near dark chocolate. It is the perfect Baroness Chocolate bar for those looking for something with a bit of extra sweetness. The caramel leaks out when you bite it, but not dripping so you can enjoy it on the go. Again, something I will buy again.

There is a lot going on in a Mocha Krunhjah bar (and try saying that name several times fast). The coffee flavour is milder than I would have thought and apart from the chocolate being a darker blend/colour, this one does look like the advertising. What is not clear is that the toffee is sponge toffee which makes me like it more and there are large pieces of it though the bar with the rest of the ingredients sprinkled on top. There is too much in it for my tastes, but after my taste test, I shared and it was a favourite with others.

I a huge believer in not wasting good chocolate by adding a pile of ingredients and “stuff”. I love a good milk chocolate bar but Baroness Chocolates Tummy Rub is absolutely delicious. The chocolate is a bit darker/deeper tasting than regular milk chocolate and the dark chocolate wafer is substantial and crunchy but not so much that it takes away from the chocolate. Tummy Rub really is like a chocolate hug, the ultimate in comfort food and one I would definitely buy if I saw in a store.
I saved a little of this (not much, because I loved it) for a gluten free friend who often misses cookie type chocolates to try because I am sure she will love it.

Like Dob Dobs, Baroness Chocolates have opted to move the nuts into the bar rather than on top with this one as shown in the advertising. For someone who generally prefers chocolate without nuts, I found this one really delicious. The sweetness of the butterscotch is a nice touch with the slightly darker chocolate used by Baroness Chocolates so it is very balanced. I liked that the nuts were a mixture of slivers/pieces and fairly full almonds too, the texture change was nice compared to many that have tiny pieces. -

Mapleview is one of my favourite malls in the area. They have a great selection of stores for everyone, a nice open food court and decent opening/closing times.
They really care about their customers (as a mall, obviously individual stores can be different experiences) and have done a lot to get better stores and improve the customer experience over the past few years.
The Anchor Stores are The Bay and Sears, both of which seem a bit dated compared to the rest of the mall which underwent massive renovations attracting some of the higher end stores that are harder to find in Canadian malls.
The issue is parking, they don't have a lot (understandable given Burlington prices for land) so it can be hard to get a space at peak shopping times, yet the mall doesn't have that packed feeling of malls like Square One when the parking lot is full

On The Rocks was Smashbox's 2014 Holiday Collection eyeshadow palette
These jewel toned colours are great for the holidays, but I find I wear them much less outside of special occasions,
The pigmentation on the colours is great and I love that it has a mirror for the full size of the palette. They definitely look better when applied wet as accent colours, but for daily use (if you are into the brighter jewel tones) they are better dry. The neutrals included in the palette compliment the colours well and are great for daily wear.
They stay put all day too, you have to scrub a little to remove it all.
Colours: Blacktop (black shimmer), Coronation (purple shimmer), Nutmeg (copper shimmer), Opus (light pink matte), Vanilla (light beige matte), Chianti (shimmer), Sapphires (shimmer), Confectionette (bronze shimmer), Mist (light mauve shimmer), Bourbon (shimmer), Midnight Emerald (shimmer), and Obsidian (grey shimmer).

The (2015 Neutral Browns) Quo Back to Basics palette is super versatile, you get to choose between matte and shimmer – but not overly glittery or mix it up for your perfect look – or if you are very lucky, find the all matte palette.
The coverage on them is great, some of the Quo Back to Basics lighter colours need an extra swipe to get the same pigmentation at their Urban Decay counterparts but considering the cost difference, that is not a huge deal. With the exception of the black, they go on dry with no loose powder dropping off the brush. I have been using a smaller brush (from the Quo Rebel Chic travel set) for the black as it tends to drop.
I am not however a fan of the one with more purples, the colours do not have the depth of the neutrals

JD Robb's In Death series is one of my favourites.
I love how Eve has evolved and how the story of how her beginnings makes her the person she is in every book (although I was not the biggest fan of the ones where she went back to face off with her parents).
With over 40 books in the series, there is a lot of history in the newer book with the relationships that I almost feel I know them. You know she will worry about her friends being involved, something that would not have happened in the early books.
Yet each book is standalone and makes sense to the friends I have loaned them out to, even if they did not read previous books.
I also like that although set in the future, it has not been taken so far into fantasy that the world doesn't make sense and includes her ongoing issues with the technology that takes over their lives
