Oh, Mr. Clean! How you make home life so much easier for us all. This product will be around for years to come, it's one of those rare exceptions to all those falsely advertised commercials. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers actually do clean as fast and as effectively as they do in the commercials, but I wouldn't mind seeing the list of 1001 places to use it on ;) I have a story to go with this review - When I was young and lived with my mother, we kept a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser in the bathroom. I dyed my hair for the first time from a very nice blonde to a dark auburn, and hoped she wouldn't notice as we had a strict rule of "no dyeing in the house" (because of this one time my sister, who was feeling experimental, dyed her hair electric blue and got Manic Panic all over the bathtub) so I wet my hair and pushed it back for dinner. But as I was heading downstairs, I passed a mirror and noticed I had dye on my neck. I scrubbed and scrubbed, used alcohol and nail polish remover, cold cream and astringent - really anything I could find, because I was so afraid my mom would notice. So finally, I said, "What the hell" and grabbed the Magic Eraser and rubbed it on my neck. The dye came off.. and so did a few layers of skin. Instead of facing my mom with dye on my neck, I faced her with what appeared to be a giant hickey, which was much worse. There was no one I could convince that my story was legit, no one believed I was stupid enough to rub a Magic Eraser on my neck, but oh the things we do to get out of trouble. But I learned just how effective Mr. Clean really is, and have stood by him ever since. -

I have naturally untamed hair that doesn't know whether it wants to wake up curly or straight, so it's most of the time it's craight or sturly. I like my hair either or, but don't often use straighteners because I don't like the ripping sound they make on my hair. I found this product at the Body Shop, which is a cream/lotion for the hair and is supposedly heat activated. I have used it when my hair was wet and let it dry on it's own, used it when my hair was wet and blew it dry, used it on dry hair and let it dry on it's own and used it on dry hair and blew it dry. No matter what I do, it ends up curly and solves my craight/sturly problems. The smells is phenomenal, honey and cottenseed (I imagine myself laying in a field of honeysuckle when I smell it) and it lasts all day like it's your natural hair. The greatest heat-not-necissary/non-curling-iron-induced hair product I've used. Ever. -

I purchased Root Boost Volumizing Foam from a salon my sister was working at called Regis. Sprayed on the roots of towel dried hair, this maximum hold product actually gives your roots more volume when dried. It's cheap for an effective salon brand, but is not environmentally friendly as it is sold in an aerosol can. This product is the new "teasing"! -

I went to my salon with fried hair, begging them to change the colour. They allowed it under the condition I used Bumble and Bumble "Deeep" once a week on my hair. It's a leave in conditioner that is rinsed out after 20 minutes. A dime sized amount is needed for longer-than-shoulder-length hair, so it lasts and lasts. It was a tad expensive, almost $40 in Canada (purchased from Frenzi salon and spa), but it brought my hair back to life and smells GREAT (like bananas)! -

I give this body wash a lower rating because while it is great for in-shower moisturizing, it clogs my pores and causes my skin to break out all over the place. I also don't like going to bed smelling like a bottle of perfume, and prefer to use real body moisturizer. -

I have purchased Secret Platinum in Vanilla Chai twice in a row. The first time I bought it, I fell in absolute love with the smell. It lasts the same amount of time as your average deodorant stick, and has, from what I've noticed, many more selections of scents. However, on days I'd go to the gym I noticed it didn't do much to withhold my perspiration, but emitted a strong whiff of the deodorants scent rather than of sweat. This was nice for the gym buffs working out next to me, but didn't save me much embarassment. When I ran out of the first stick I was determined to find a better one, but the scent of Vanilla Chai once again dragged me in and I made the purchase for the second time. This time, there was a sticker that said, "Scent release when you need it most". I guess they got a few complaints. Anyway, I've been less active with this stick and it's lasted all day when I'm not working myself up to a sweat. I don't recommend for active women. -

I found that the Cocoa Butter Everyday Summer Body Lotion works very well when going from pale/natural skin to a tan with no streaks, and is also great for settling uneven tans on sun exposed skin. The lotion dries fast, the results are quick (starts showing up within a day or two) and it does not clog pores. I have acne prone skin and have used it on my face and didn't break out. The smell is also great for a self-tanner. It smells like cocoa, not a sun-tan lotion which isn't a complimentary scent to walk around in during the day in the winter. It is okay at hydrating dry skin, and lasts for days. As far as I'm concerned this is another great product from the Body Shop! Can also be purchased online at the website mentioned above. -

The bottle is what appealed to me when I first saw Olay Body Quench on the shelf. This is the only line of product that is in a purple bottle, so it really stood out. Even the packaging looked silky. I bought it in the middle of winter, when my skin was very dry and itchy, and the lotion quickly relieved the irriation. I favoured the smell for during the day, but thought it was too perfumey to sleep in. Also, during the period that I used this product, I found that my back would break out with pimples. I assumed it was from clogged pores but that may not be the case since this doesn't seem to happen to women often (I may be jumping to conlcusions because it has a perfumed scent). When I stopped using the lotion, the pimples went away. I do recommend this for hydrating winter skin in a jiffy. -

I just ran out of the Shea Lip Care Stick from the Body Shop and used their Coconut Lip Butter instead. As I rubbed it onto my lips, I remembered why I replaced it with the stick in the first place. My lips are constantly drying out, and while the butter lasts longer and leaves a really smooth feel if my lips are already soft, it does nothing to rehydrate. My lips continue to get dryer until I use a stick. It smells great, carrying the image of a tropical beach to mind as I unscrew the lid and take a whiff of the first few particles that float up towards my nose. If you're looking for a lip moisturizer, it's not worth paying the Body Shop price for their lip butter. However, if you're looking for a nude gloss, it's a good purchase (I still stand by my stars). I like to put chapstick or a light matte lipstick on and the butter over top of it. -
