Gold Vs Platinum
------------------------------
Now, like me, you might be wondering the difference between Gold and Platinum and since I was lucky enough to use both, let me enlighten you! Firstly the plate colour is different, but that’s not so important. With Platinum+ being more expensive by $50 (at time of writing) the question is, which is better? Well, I have to say Platinum.
While Gold is still a powerhouse straightener that’s miles ahead of cheaper brands, it’s notably worse than Platinum. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, at all, it’s still superb, but it doesn’t give as fast of a straighten, as easily. Gold still does a nice straighten in one pass, but it’s more natural looking and to get the extreme ‘poker straightness’ of Platinum+, you’ll need more than one pass at your hair.
This is probably because Platinum+ has ‘Ultra-Zone Technology’ and Gold has merely ‘Dual Zone’. In my opinion, the Ultra Zone is definitely worth springing for if you can manage it, as it’s really a lot better.
The rest is just physical differences in the design and hinge of the straightener. Again, I prefer Platinum, but Gold is good too.
I’d say go for Gold if you want a cheaper straightener, or love the look of more naturally straight hair (like someone who was born with it). If you straighten daily or on the go and need a fast, poker straight, model style hair, go for Platinum! Both are amazing straighteners, it just depends on budget and what you need.

There’s not much to say about this, it’s pretty much as pictured. You get a small comb and a pair of slightly curved scissors. I used mine for trimming my partner’s facial hair and cutting my own eyebrows and the scissors cut just fine. The comb is a bit big to be useful on eyebrows, but could work well with longer beards.
The pouch is ok, good for keeping the scissors from stabbing anybody when not in use. It’s not the highest quality and a bit overpriced (12.99 at time of review), in my opinion, but it does what it promises. You can technically use the scissors for sewing as well or literally anything you want!

Gua Sha VS Facial Rolling
------------------------------------
Gua Sha (the scraper, sometimes known as eastern botox) and facial rolling are two popular Asian skincare remedies that have become big on social media right now. I highly recommend anyone considering it to do their own research as each method has their own pros and cons. For example, Gua Sha can be harsher on skin and must be done with an oil or serum, whereas facial rolling can be done regularly or after moisturising. Facial rolling is much simpler and faster, in my opinion, but once learned Gua Sha only takes slightly longer. Both will help skincare sink into your skin and absorb better.
In terms of anti-ageing, I don’t believe it has anything to do with crystals (and knowing if this is genuine is not my area of expertise), but I’m not going to shame anyone who loves crystals or wants a pretty tool for facial care. I believe these products do improve your face, but I think it’s all down to massage as opposed to crystals. I previously have used a facial roller and saw great effects, even though it was just glass, so I think facial massage can have great benefits and a roller is a fast, accessible way to achieve it. You can find great videos for both Gua Sha and facial rolling, all over the internet! I facial roll daily, but found Gua Sha too intense for daily and do it 3 times a week instead.

This set
------------------------------------
This set comes with a roller and a Gua Sha scraper, all packaged into a cute little box, containing a card with simple instructions on how to perform the massage. This makes it a really nice gift.
In terms of looks, this Amethyst style is definitely my favourite. Not only is Amethyst my birthstone, but I think the bold and extra veiny purple is stunning. I usually love the colour pink more, but this stands out from the crowd and really has that ‘wow’ factor! The amethyst is deeply marbled and veined, with brownish gold undertones coming out throughout as well. Absolutely love the design on this.
Quality-wise, I’ve owned a cheapie jade roller before and this is miles above that. The stone is smoother, larger and more comfortable and it also has transparent ‘holders’ which prevent the stone from getting wobbly or falling off. It also hasn’t developed rust when washing (unlike my cheap one), but I’ll update if that occurs.
The Gua Sha scraper is also good quality, molded well and good looking. Though I can’t comment on the price (currently not listed) or if the stone is genuine (not my area of expertise).
While I’d expect to have to use it much longer for a drastic result, I know from long term use that jade rolling makes a big difference to my skin and this one is no different. Even within a week, I was seeing fresher, healthier skin with a glow to it. I think this makes a great gift and though I prefer rolling to Gua Sha, I recommend everyone gives it a chance! (Use for at least a month before saying it doesn’t work, in my opinion!)

Anybody who’s had cats knows how nuts they go for temptations and this pack of multiple flavours was a big hit in our household! No, they’re not particularly healthy, but they are low calorie and besides, it’s not the kind of thing I feed them a ton of, they’re lucky to get a couple every 2-3 days. With three cats, often they don’t like the same things, but they’ve yet to find a temptation treat they hated and even my pickiest kitty likes these.
The two who respond to catnip seem to particularly like the catnip ones, which are handily green so you can tell them apart if you mix the bags like I did. They are soft, easy to feed and the cats love them, so no complaints here!

I would love to give this the full four stars, because it’s a lot of fun, but there is one thing that really bothers me! Giantville need to fix the packaging with this product. Others had problems with it arriving broken, I’m sadly not surprised by this. It’s packaged with only a thin, non-padded sheet of plastic around the parts. As a result, while mine arrived intact, the blue support parts had a lot of ugly scratches from rubbing together on them. A simple padded or even paper surround could save this from happening. When a product is highly priced like this ($299.99 at time of review) I want it to arrive flawlessly, instead of scratched up and looking used.
Apart from that, the set is a fun novelty, clever and great for anytime play, or even parties. It’s suitable for the garden, or the apartment. The set isn’t so noisy that apartment dwellers can’t use it, but be aware that ‘emptying’ the discs is the noisiest part and not suitable for early morning or night. It’s also hard to store in small places. So it definitely suits a yard or garden more. It can be left out too as the plastic is durable and rain shouldn’t affect it badly, though dragging it to a covered area when not playing would keep it good longer.
One clever thing is how the discs are designed to fall in a slight zigzag motion so if a little one sticks their hand through and the other drops a disc on them (good job guys! -_-) no-one gets hurt. The discs are emptied half at a time, by pulling out a red strip at the bottom and there are enough to fill the whole game board. It’s really fun and would make a great game for a party! Because it’s simple, kids pick it up really easy, but it’s designed for two players so they’ll have to team up or wait their turn for big groups.
Assembly is pretty easy, taking less than 15 minutes, there are detailed diagrams and instructions provided.
Overall, it’s a fun game that will delight kids (or yes drunk adults), but could use better packaging to prevent damage to the set.

In terms of split-ends, I can’t comment as I don’t have them, but if you ask me if this repairs damage, it’s a big yes from me! My hair has been through the ringer lately, trying so many different types of shampoos and conditioners and so I was hoping this would help it out. Since my hair is so short, I don’t have split-ends, but lately my hair has been looking quite damaged and sad.
After using the rescue shots it was so soft that I was actually worried it was greasy (it wasn’t though, just crazy soft) and had so much shine to it. It didn’t get greasy any faster (my usual two days) and my hair definitely seems repaired. I can easily get away with using a third or less of the little tube, because my hair is so short, but for the initial test I used the whole tube. There’s a surprising amount in there and it would definitely have enough for long hair.
It has a really nice, strong smell that’s kind of fruity and kind of like candy, I really enjoyed that! The only negatives I have is that it is difficult to open the bottle (I had to use my teeth, never fun) and it makes the tub really slippery, so be careful!

I’m really enjoying these pillows. They definitely feel better quality than the pillows I usually buy (I.E. the super cheap ones) and arrived in perfect condition. They are vacuum packed and upon opening, immediately start to fluff up. I left them about a day before using them, but they looked full after only about 3 or so hours, so that should be enough.
I really like that they have ‘edges’ as opposed to just being joined straight onto each other at the sides, I feel like it helps them retain their shape. The pillow fabric is actually soft that you could use it without a cover, but I prefer to use a cover as it’s easier to keep clean. One thing you should know is that if you prefer a very firm pillow, these will not be right for you.
These pillows are extremely soft and you sink in a bit when you lie on them, so if you dislike soft pillows don’t get these ones. However, I usually prefer a little firmer and I still really liked these. They are so soft and comfortable that I didn’t have any trouble sleeping with them (usually it takes me a few nights to adjust), so maybe I have liked soft pillows this whole time and didn’t realise! I thought I was getting standard, but they seem to be Queen as they fit my Queen pillowcase perfectly.
They are not lumpy in the slightest and look and feel great quality, highly recommend!

I was looking for an alternative heartburn/gas medication. I’ve tried Tums (best so far for me) and many other products, but never found one that was ideal in tackling the problem, while still having a good texture and taste. I was really hoping this would be the one, but to be blunt, I hated it.
I actually couldn’t keep chewing it and spat it out. I’m a super-taster and to me the taste was just really overwhelmingly awful. A bit like blueberry, maybe something else and something really terrible. It was very hard for me to take. I see now that these tablets are described as raspberry, but I love raspberry and it did not taste anything close to that.
My partner who has normal tastebuds, did not mind the taste, but couldn’t stand the cardboard like crumbly texture. So basically, we both hated it. I can’t actually say how well it worked on heartburn because I was unable to get past the taste and take it. The one good thing I can say is that at least it didn't foam up, but other than that, taste and texture were a big yuck.

I have three cats, but one has a particularly problematic coat. He has a very thick, dense undercoat, even though he doesn’t look very fluffy and is short-haired. As a result of this and his recent struggles with his weight (after an expensive and scary pet surgery), he often mats up underneath, no matter how often we brush him.
The Furminator Grooming Rake is better than average at dealing with this problem. I can tell it’s designed more fur undercoats as it seems to pull out a lot of that thick undercoat, helping to prevent future mats. The only thing I dislike is that I feel like it sometimes catches on the current beginning mats and tugs his skin a bit. But that is honestly the case with every brush I’ve tried so far.
I feel like it’s a good start at tackling the problem and will work well over time, but even in the short term, I’m seeing less matts.
It also works well on my second cat, who has a fine, yet wiry coat and apparently had some undercoat, because it gets a ton on her too. The only cat it doesn’t do super well on is my long-haired cat and this is because, contrary to many long-haired breeds, he has very little undercoat and only a fine wispy topcoat. This is common in Birman (his breed) cats, so I don’t blame the brush for that. It’s really more suited to undercoats and dense coats (as described).
The handle is also extremely comfortable and easy to grip and doesn’t exacerbate my joint pain in my fingers.
I can definitely recommend this for dense coated cats (and presumably dogs too!)

Hair type: Short, thick, naturally wavy, brunette greying (aging) hair.
After a recent bad experience with another scent of this sulfate-free shampoo (Rose Water) and other sulfate-free brands, I had become sure that my hair just didn’t react well to sulfate-free products. Well, colour me surprised because this shampoo (and the conditioner I used it with) actually did work well with my hair!
My hair was left smooth, but not limp, with a good amount of shine and no fuzz. I feel like maybe the Rosewater was more intended for dry hair and this charcoal version is better for normal type hair.
In terms of texture and scent, it’s very similar to the Rosewater range, a generic sweet scent, but it’s slightly less sweet. The pump-action bottle is easy to use and very appreciated.
I would recommend this for normal type hair and will definitely use it again.
