I also recieved this product as part of the Product Review Club and I was quite impressed! I was one of the few reviewers who *didn't* notice the shape of the tube resembling a stiletto heel; I suppose it makes sense now that I look at the tube more closely but I'd just thought it was a sleek tube with a somewhat understated design at first. Anyways, I digress.
What I love about this product is that the formula is not terribly thick, which makes it a really great choice for daytime wear. The brush is completely unlike most brushes in the trendier current mascaras, and goes for more of a slimmer look a la Great Lash (and who DIDN'T love Maybelline Great Lash?) but with more of a spikey wand to catch lashes rather than the Great Lash-style neat spiral of bristles. The formula is SUPER easy to apply, and lasts reasonably well. If mascara is a vital part of your day-to-night look, this is a good pick for work or school but rather than re-apply in the evening you might need a bolder formula. (This is one thing in life you'll wish was a little more fattening.)
Voluminous though it may not be, lengthening it is. I have medium-length lashes and this formula does have the attractive facet of making them look prettily elongated. The mascara smell was also strong with my tube, but it fades quickly and it doesn't bother me. Overall, I'd say this puppy gives you a look that's very girly, but not so much sex-kittenish. Then again, it all depends on the girl wearing it. Meow, y'all.

The bergamot scent from the Softlips line is light, subtly sweet and pretty. If you are a fan of floral scents you may prefer this of the three PURE options. The balm goes on smooth, not sticky or waxy, and feels very lightweight. It moisturizes lips for about 3 to 4 hours. Personally, I prefer a richer formula but if you like a lightweight lip moisturizer it's a great one to carry in your purse. The all-natural food-grade ingredients don't comprimise the quality of the balm, so you can definitely feel good about this product. -

This lipbalm, along with it's two scented counterparts, is packaged very prettily. I agree that the lipstick look is a lot cuter than the average, boring lip balm shape. I personally prefer a rich formula that goes on thick, but that's just me. This lip balm moisturizes for a good three to four hours and feels incredibly lightweight and smooth, not sticky or waxy. If you are sensitive to fragrances or just don't like them, this is for you. The fact that the product is made from natural, food-grade ingredients does not comprimise it's quality, which is the best part. The price, at 5 dollars a pop, doesn't faze this girl, who has paid over 12 dollars for a tube before. In my opinion, lined up next to a 2 dollar Chapstick, you definitely feel the value of the extra few dollars. -

I'm also reviewing this lip balm for the Product Review club and this fragrance in the set of three is my favorite aswell.
I have easily chapped lips and often breathe through my mouth when I sleep (sinuses, ugh) which makes them worse. The Softlips PURE line is effective at delivering lightweight moisture that feels conditioning, smooth without being waxy and lasts for about three to four hours (for my parchment lips, anyways) without needing re-application. Personally, for myself, I prefer a richer formula that goes on thicker and honestly a medicated brand would be best for me, but I recommend this product whole-heartedly to anyone who looks for a good purse lip balm that feels nice and isn't made with any worrisome chemicals.
Now to comment on the scent. The citrus scent is LOVELY, I gave the tube a big whiff when I opened it and it smelled summery and pretty. It reminded me of a tall glass of orange juice with a nice pancake breakfast sitting out on the porch in the sun. Mmm. Definitely a keeper for the wintertime when you honestly NEED a shot of sunshine.

I'm a true chocolate addict. I have a hard time going the day without something chocolatey, and at the time I purchased this product, the hard time happened about fifteen minutes before takeoff at the Winnipeg airport. I was drawn to the packaging because it wasn't just chocolate, but chocolate in an adorable little portion in an adorable little box. Usually I try to say no to overpackaged items, but it was chocolate that I hadn't tried that was too cute not to notice. I thought I'd try my luck on the flight with a Cosmo. Alas, the cure for airplane boredom is indulgence!
As I started pigging out..er..helping myself to the chocolate, I remarked aloud to my stepfather (who gets paid to think up creative marketing ideas for an advertising agency) how Dove's new, sleeker marketing has really boosted their appeal. I never cared enough to pick up a Dove bar before because they shared a shelf with Dairy Milk (my budget-chocolate of choice. I've gotta feed the chocolate monster within!)
The chocolate is above average in taste. It's very creamy, has an ideal level of sweetness and melts wonderfully in the mouth. The messages in the wrapper are indeed a cute touch, thought I'm morally compelled to oppose individual wrapping. I agree that the packaging overcompensates for the product, for sure. While this chocolate is not particularly low-grade by commercial standards, you can taste the price (not too low, but not terribly high either). I appreciate the portion control (goodness knows I can't trust my own willpower) but the chocolate is not outstanding, or at least not outstanding enough to make the excess packaging worth the enviro-guilt.
So would I pick it over Dairy Milk next time? Well, in short, no. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad chocolate, but wherever you can find this particular brand you can probably also find something better that either uses less packaging or makes it worth the trouble. I recommend it, but marginally, as it still tastes fine and looks cute but it's just not the best. I enjoyed this product, but I wouldn't recommend it next to the Dairy Milk 100 Calorie Thins bar!!

DRYSOL CHANGED MY LIFE. I had a serious pit-stain problem in my mid teens and I discovered Drysol never soon enough. This product is amazing and truly one that has changed the way I carry myself. I used to get the underarm sweats so bad I'd wear big, thick layers in all seasons hoping and praying it wouldn't seep through and reveal my secret. Normal antiperspirants were useless; I might aswell have been just giving my armpits a once-over with a cotton ball dampened with water. I promise you can have faith in this product, and if you can't you really need to see a doctor for a more drastic solution as this is the strongest non-prescription antiperspirant on the market.
The application is not pleasant, but it is worth it. You must apply it at bedtime (try to put it on as soon as possible before actually falling asleep so you can be asleep when it starts to work) because the product needs to seep into your sweat glands and do it's job over a good, generous portion of time. Why do I recommend you sleep through this as much as possible? It ITCHES. Careful not to overapply, a very thin layer will do, and the dab with the attachable applicator is the best for well-controlled application. Wear a top that is very breathable or sleep topless, and be warned, the product may discolour some clothing. Don't apply it over any leftover antiperspirant, put it on clean pits. NEVER apply it too soon after shaving or, god forbid, waxing. The first few applications will the be the worst as far as itch goes, but it gradually subsides. You only need to apply this product for three consecutive days initially, I find. If you're like me at all, after those few days you should be able to skip a day at a time between applications until you only need to use it once every couple of months.
Although your perspiration at the point of application will be reduced to almost nothing, you still have a great breeding ground for stinky bacteria on your underarm skin so DO use a little bit of deodorant or light antiperspirant, scented if you like. Don't overapply though, you don't want to further irritate or dry out that skin. Be sure to wash the areas where product was applied the morning after application, it gets the excess off your skin. This product, if used properly and as needed, can stop sweat from just about anywhere (provided the skin isn't too delicate) but most recommended are palms and underarms. And YES, this product will help to eventually eradicate the problem! I hardly think about sweat anymore, and I feel so much more freedom in being able to wear t-shirts again without a sweater.
There have been some concerns (from my dad, don't freak out) that this product is unhealthy, but the results have been worth the minimal risk and I have had zero problems with it in the five years I've been owning a bottle. One bottle lasts about half a year. I've recommended this product to people I've met who've disclosed their hyperhidrosis* to me, including my own boyfriend, and everyone who's tried it loves it. Be strong through the initial inconveniences, the results will floor you!
*Hyperhidrosis is a non-harmful condition that encourages excessive and often inexplicable perspiration.

This is by far my favorite shampoo of all time. I love how it makes my fine, straight hair feel. I love the Aveda natural concept. However, the best, BEST part of this product is the smell. It's not too sweet, not too musky. It's sexy and earthy at the same time, but the mint keeps it just a little refreshing. I can hardly stop smelling my hair through the day! This is one of those shampoos that really let you feel the clean; it feels really deep-cleansing but my hair always looks very healthy and not stripped after use*. It feels, smells and makes your hair looks amazing.
**Bear in mind, my hair is combination oily with dry ends as-is and is currently free of chemicals, colour or any miscellaneous processing such as. Your hair type (and nose type!) may not feel the same way about this Aveda godsend as I do.

I am a very picky girl when it comes to buying cosmetics. I abide by a strict "love it or leave it" policy when it comes to girly items, so this mascara was quite a treat for me. What caught my eye initially was the packaging, as noted earlier, a chartreuse-y yellow with metallic purple lettering. (I'm impressed that Maybelline seems to be stepping up on the aesthetics of their packaging; definitely good for marketing!)
I'd just finished a tube of MAC Zoom Lash and was pining for a mascara that could lengthen but focused on pretty, unfussy volume. The Colossal was a smash hit. The formula is easy to apply, the wand is thick and easy to hold and clumps very little. I found the difference was most apparent in the application of the first three strokes; usually by then my past mascaras had made my lashes unpleasantly saturated to the point of becoming small, icky lash-bouquets. This lil' feller is different, your lashes stay separated, the formula is easy to apply evenly and the volume looks quite natural and very pretty. This is a fantastic daytime mascara and ideal for the girl who prefers to skip makeup mostly but opts for mascara to add a little polish. Although it's fabulous at it's job, the effects don't produce very diva-like drama for evening, so if that's what you're looking for you're probably better off with a different product. I used the standard black colour and the pigments are quite rich but once again, not terribly dramatic.
I'd compare this mascara to Benefit's badGRRL Lash, but much less flakey. Whereas my experience with the Benefit mascara has shown the formula to only last about half the day before almost completely flaking off, the Colossal lasts and stays put, is quite flexible and has a moderate resistance to moisture. Similarities are the large brush and the pigment richness, notably comparable. If you liked the Benefit classic, you'll LOVE the Colossal.

I work here. The Forks is a tourist gem for Winnipeggers, and there's always something going on. Take kids to the Children's Museum or take friends along the river walk and back to Muddy Waters' patio for a wonderful rum punch. The Forks boasts an extensive antique mall, and then within 2 minutes walk North America's largest skate park. There truly is something for everyone and their family. -
