I sometimes like to think that if I buy a more expensive powder, it will work better than my go-to Rimmel Stay Matte. I'm always wrong. This powder is long staying, light and does an amazing job controlling oil. I always have one in my makeup bag and another in my drawer. As a journalist, I am often on camera and this does a great job at mattifying my face for the lights! -

I've been using this mascara for years and I will never think to reach for another mascara ever again! Every time I try to make a switch, I regret it big time. The thin wand makes it so easy to get to the very bottom of your lashes and lengthens dramatically. It does not clump nor does it fall out throughout the day. I suggest you curl the wand a bit by bending it back and forth just to give it a little bit of shape. This helps make the application process easier as it will look like the shape of your eye lids. -

I have had bacne and chest acne for the past few years and tried a lot to get rid of them. I will not say that this body wash completely gets rid of them, but it definitely does control the acne and dries it out before it gets worse. The downfall is, if you generally have dry skin, this will for sure make your skin drier, which can irritate some. I suggest having a cream with salicylic acid that you can use in case of dry skin. -

I never even consider walking by any high-end concealers when I'm at Sephora, MAC, etc. Simply because, this does it all for me. It covers my GLORIOUS under eye bags but also does a great job at covering my hyper pigmentation and uneven skin. If I'm looking for a fresh-face look, I tend to go for some of this on the spots that need it and throw on some powder and call it a day. Great stuff, super affordable and can apply without another tool. -

How this foundation works: Due to its super liquidy consistency, this foundation truly does give you total control. You can build the cover as you please to get anything from a super light to a full-coverage look. The colour selection is fabulous and it applies beautifully with a brush or a sponge. I tend to apply it with a flat top kabuki first and then go over it with my real techniques blender and I LOVE IT. It's the first foundation I've owned that I haven't had to wear concealer with and barely touch up.
For someone who is out of the house from 8 am - 8pm, I find this foundation sits beautifully and maybe needs a tiny bit of powder in the middle of the day if you have oily or combination skin.
Price point: Totally affordable, $16 in Canada.
