I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, but this book was a great read for me! I loved the whole concept of the society, that people can make themselves "beautiful", it really makes you question what can be defined as beautiful. A great dystopian novel!

Its a book you wouldn't want to drop,it will keep you at the edge of your seat. With a touch of adventure, romance and tough decisions this book is about a community which are named the "uglies" for their appearances until they turn sixteen when they get a surgery that would make them into bombshell beauties with perfect bone structure, full lips and hypnotizing eyes all they have to do is have fun and party. Tally, a soon to be pretty who is an adventures girl who breaks all the rules meets a girl named Shay, Shay doesn't want to be pretty so she leaves tally secret directions to a place called the "Smoke" which was a place were uglies went if they didn't want to become pretty, then shay runs away, but tally stays. On the day tally is sent to the hospital she is sent to a place called "special circumstances" where she is threatened to help them turn in all the people from the smoke or don't turn pretty at all. Tally is left with a devastating decision, what will she do turn in her best friend or turn pretty?
