Bertrice Small has an interesting writing style. It's 1 part smut, 1 part action, 1 part awesome. She writes my favourite "historical" fiction, although I use the term historical rather loosely. A Dangerous Love is a good book where things keep going horribly for the main character. But the main character, like the females in all of Small's books, is incredibly badass and faces the challenges thrown at her. I love Small's writing because there is actually plot to her books, rather just smut. Romance, action, adventure, Highlanders...love it! Although her cover art could use a little work.
