I picked this up thinking it would be fun for a hot summer day spent lazing on the deck. I did finish it in an afternoon, but only due to sheer determination not to put it down.

Maybe it's just that I'm no longer a teenager, but the plot seemed a bit laboured, and almost like it was trying too hard. There were lesbian undertones but it never amounted to anything, just kind of left hanging... and I don't care enough to read the next in the series and find out.

I think this book tried a little too hard, and missed the mark.
