Wonderfully acted, truly though with Vivian Leigh and Marlon Brando you cannot fail. The classic Williams play highlights the decay of plantation life through Blanche Dubois (Leigh) with intelligent dialogue and leaves you wondering if all that action occurred in that small apartment. Stella!

Based on the play by Tennessee Williams, this renowned drama follows troubled former schoolteacher Blanche DuBois (Vivien Leigh) as she leaves small-town Mississippi and moves in with her sister, Stella Kowalski (Kim Hunter), and her husband, Stanley (Marlon Brando), in New Orleans. Blanche's flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household.

What an intense movie full of stress and extreme tension. Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brando give brilliant performances. Stanley is a man possessed with outbursts that are difficult to watch at times. Blanche is lost in the past and has her own demons. Will they survive living together?
