100% OF CHICKS DIG IT
To be honest I went to walmart to pick up a little netbook for school, but for 50 dollars more they had a 15.6 inch with a ton more features. While I was checking it out the clerk said to me, that they had a new computer that wouldn't go on sale until the following week (this wed) but it was in their stock already and did I want to see it.
I asked how much and he said 349 dollars. It had slightly less ram and a bit smaller hard drive, but if your not playing intense computer games like half life, halo or WoW then its totally unnecessary. This little computer is perfect if your like me and you just want to play on the internet, social networking and word processing.
It comes fully installed and ready to go with windows 7 and Microsoft works. There is a 30 day install for the latest Microsoft office that you can purchase online if you want to keep it (i use it at work and will pay at the end of the free trial). I would suggest looking around especially if your a government worker or a student as your work or school can over ridiculous discounts on the programs
I have had it for just over a week and am in LOVE with it! I have no problems watching movies or doing downloads. My ipod synced up nicely as did my cell phone. The wireless works great both at home and at school. You will notice for the techys that it does not have the new WLAN but since most new routers aren't exclusively N thats not an issue.
Two tiny complaints, but nothing huge:
- No webcam (i knew this before i bought it and wasn't a deal breaker for me)
- the mouse can be a little touchy, i may break down and buy a little wireless mouse.
Pluses include:
- wide screen
- its an acer so you can upgrade your RAM!!! yay
- long extension plug (excellent for school)
- just under 6 pounds
- top is patterned so its not a glossy fingerprint catcher
- 5 in 1 card reader (with a little fake card in the slot to protect the hole from dust and damage!)
well thats my review! I highly recommend this for the casual computer user. it has a fair amount of bang for the buck!
