From a short hair perspective, let me just say, this isn't a perfect straightener. However, I definitely saw some results and I think part of the issue is if you have extremely short hair any style of straightener that isn't the 'clamp' style, just won't work because you can't brush it under like a person with long hair can.

What it is absolutely great for with short, thick hair like mine, is neatening your hair down to a more reasonable level of mess. It made the upper and back parts of my hair much flatter and less frizzy, which makes it great for neatening my hair, but still keeping that 'punky' kind of style, rather than making it poker straight.

I would recommend this to anyone with short hair who needs a device to flatten the hairs that tend to stick straight up, as this device does a good job of it, but it won't make your hair super straight. For those with long hair, I think the product would do a much better job as you can curl it under at the ends (with short hair it's hard to get the ends to curl inwards).

It's very comfortable to hold and easy to operate, but make sure you don't touch the back as it gets hot and only leave it to cool on a heat resistant surface.
