Thank you to the Product Review Club for the opportunity to test this cleanser!
It worked, like most, average cleansers. There was nothing outstanding about the product. It has a strong medicinal smell. I didn't see vast imporvements in my skin. There is less acne, but I'm pretty sure my spots are hormone-related, so I can't be sure that it was a result of the product. I would need to use it for longer than 2 weeks to be sure. My face felt tight and dry after using this product.
I have tried worse cleansers. But I don't think it's one of the top products on the market.
I received a 237mL bottle of AcneFree Oil-Free Acne Cleanser for free from ChickAdvisor to review. It retails for around 8-10$ on Amazon. I began using this acne wash as soon as I received it, in place of my usual Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash, and I am sold on it! My previous acne wash was okay, but I found it so drying that I could not use it every single day. Products that lather leave my face feeling tight and dry, but this product does not do that. It is more of a cream cleanser, and doesn't get too bubbly. The lack of lathering definitely makes a difference to the amount of hydration that I am left with after cleansing. It states right on the front of the bottle that it is a Benzoyl Peroxide Lotion, so this product almost works as a cleanser and a moisturizer in one, although I still do use a moisturizer after it. Another huge plus for this product is the fact that it is fragrance free. There are no perfume ingredients in this product, which is an absolute must for most of us with sensitive skin. Perfumes tend to break out sensitive skin, which would obviously not be a favorable factor in a cleanser designed to fight acne. As for this product treating breakouts, I definitely noticed a decline in my larger breakouts. However, I did not notice much of a difference with white & black heads, but the product label doesn't claim to treat those. It also definitely holds true to its claim of being oil free, I do not feel oily after using it, nor do I feel too dried out. Overall, I am a fan of this product and I will continue to use it and purchase it myself in the future.
I received a free sample of this from ChickAdvisor to review. Because I have fair skin, I started using this once a day instead of twice, as per the directions. The smell is not the most pleasant thing ever, but I can overlook that fact because the product itself was very effective. Faced with a fresh breakout, I used this all over my face but focused on my cheek/jawline and chin area. Within a few days I was already noticing how much my pimples had gone down in size and redness. I do think the one flaw with this product, aside from the smell, is the weird feeling of tightness I got on my face after I dried it off. I think it's the medicated ingredient that attacks that acne, which dries out your skin, which does it. I always make sure to use a moisturizer after using this acne cleanser to avoid that feeling of tightness. Overall, it worked well on my very sensitive skin and did not cause any irritation or reaction.
I received this for review. I've been using it nightly for about 2 weeks now and I'm really liking it. I was suffering from a breakout from using a bad product previously and this really helped with clearing it up. I feel like this is more of a treatment cleanser so I use it after washing my face with something else to get my skin clean. The instructions say to use a dime amount but I feel like I need a little more to make sure I cover my face. If you've used benzoyl peroxide cream before, it smells like that. Not a huge fan of the packaging. I would prefer a pump.
I would definitely buy this again.
I received this product for free as part of the Product Review Club. I have hormonal flare ups of acne and had a large patch of acne on my chin when I started using this cleanser. I have been using it twice a day as directed. I found that it did clear up the acne over the course of a week. It left my skin feeling slightly tight but not dried out. I have very sensitive skin and this cleanser is great in that it does not cause irritation. It works well on pimples, but I find it doesn't do much for blackheads unfortunately. Overall it does a good job as long as you use it twice a day as directed (I found that if you don't use it religiously twice a day every day small outbreaks start up again). I would recommend this for those that have acne, but if you have lots of blackheads too you might need to pair it with another non-medicated deep cleanser.
When i got to tryAcneFree Oil-Free Acne Cleanser for free from Chick Advisor i was very excited. I have very acne prone, oily skin. AcneFree Oil-Free Acne Cleanser worked really well to get my skin clean and prevent breakouts without drying my face. It wasn't too harsh, and i have very fair skin! I found it worked much better than my usually cleanser at clearing up existing breakouts as well!
I received this product as part of the Chick Advisor Product Review Club. First of all, this is the first cleaner that I have used that had benzoyl peroxide instead of salicylic acid. I did have some acne before receiving this and I used it morning and night. It is a cream cleanser so it doesn't foam up like my other cleansers. It did not dry out my face at all. I did notice my acne slowly getting smaller and going away. I do use this with the Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System. I'm not sure if that is the main reason for my skin clearing up or if it is this product. I will continue using this in addition to my other cleansers. I would recommend this for those who has acne and uses cleansers that has salicylic acid perhaps maybe isn't working for them and would like to try something new. I think I might try something else from this line.
The ingredients in here are not the most "natural" I guess but the benzoyl peroxide works wonders for acne (especially cystic acne)! I used it on a few annoying pimples I had on my back since I don't have any facial acne and back acne tend to be more problematic and tough to get rid of. I've definitely noticed a difference after I started using this cleanser! It is also super affordable and the bottle is huge!
So far, it's been good with shrinking the zits and preventing more zits from forming. I do have hormonal acne around my time of the month and those are hard to get rid of so I'm still searching for a better product.
This foams the perfect amount without being out-of-control frothy and leaves my skin far less tight and uncomfortable than most gentle foaming cleansers I tried.
