Pricey, but so worth it!
I only purchased this shampoo last week but already noticing a massive difference. I have tried nearly every shampoo available in Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall (Canada, woot woot) for controlling dandruff and scalp psoriasis without much success. In spite of reading some mixed reviews, I decided to give the AG Control Anti-Dandruff Shampoo a chance. So far, I am liking it after three washes! It feels tingly and amazing on the scalp and I could see a reduction in the flakes almost immediately. There are really only two caveats; the price and texture. It is a higher end product, costing a whopping $28CAD for 355mL of product and it can feel somewhat drying if you do not have a moisturizing conditioner to follow up with. To me, these were not an issue as I have a wide array of hair masks and conditioners, and I am willing to shell out a little extra for something that works. It also does not have tar in its ingredients, which can just be awful for your skin (and smells terrible!). I feel that if you can afford it, it is worth a shot!
Best out there!
The reason I love this shampoo so much is that it has a lovely fragrance. Most anti-dandruff shampoos don’t smell good but this one does the job and some. Once again I love the fact that it’s a Canadian company. It controls my itchy scalp in the winter and does so quickly !
Was recommended this shampoo by a stylist after complaining of dandruff and lack of success controlling it despite trying multiple products and natural products including several oils.
Love the smell of the product and have found it not only has helped control my dandruff eventually but having "'aintenance" uses of it helps with the budget. It's an expensive shampoo.
AG's Control Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is a critical part of my hair care routine.
I have psoriasis on my scalp and have gone through countless psoriasis and dandruff shampoos, but AG Control is the only one that has worked for me consistently. It's formula is mild compared to many of the products you might find at a drugstore and never leaves my scalp feeling overly dry/tight or greasy. The scent is easy on the nose and doesn't have any tar-like smells to it.
I've been using this product twice a week for about 10 years and anytime I've gone to another product for a few weeks my scalp starts to feel sore, itchy, and flaky. If you have dandruff or mild-to-moderate scalp psoriasis and are looking for a new shampoo to try, I would definitely suggest giving AG Control a shot!
On a recent trip to the Salon - my Stylist recommended I use an anti-dandruff control shampoo once a week during to winter months to combat dry scalp. He recommended the AG Control Shampoo. This shampoo has been very effective for me. It has a tingling sensation when you use it - and is very reasonably priced for a salon products at $17.95 a bottle. I only use it once a week with beautiful shiny hair and no flakes. It is also "safe" for colour treated hair!
