A whole new world for Disney

After the recent inundation of live action remakes, I wasn't sure if I would give this one a chance. All the reviews online went on and on about Will Smith as the blue genie; not much was said about Aladdin and Jasmine.

I ended up watching it in theatres with discounts and points all lumped together. And wow! I was not disappointed. I was left "speechless" at how amazing it was.

The changes from the original animated movie were logical and welcome. The acting was natural. And the genie? He added to the flair of the story.

The best part was definitely the music. The new version of the song Arabian Nights matches very well with the time and place of the movie. As for Silence, it is the new Let it Go.

I have since purchased the movie on Blu-Ray+DVD+Digital code so that I can watch it anywhere. I look forward to rewatching this movie many many times.

Better than I Expected

Disney did it again. I've been skeptical with these live action remakes, but I was pleasantly surprised with this. So enjoyable! There were a couple of small things I didn't love, but overall it was so fun to watch. The casting was great. I'm still partial to the cartoon but this was very very good.
