If you hate traditional perfumes, try Alkemia.

The scents are lush, complex, and nuanced. They sit closer to your skin than alcohol based perfumes, and meld better with the natural scent of your skin. I wrote them asking for scents that were more forest/earthy like and unusual. Lost Highways was my favorite of the samples tried. It smells exactly like driving through the US and breathing in lush coastal forests. A friend tried it and said: wow, I love this. It smells like fresh jasmine and flowers in wet hair in India.
