I read this book on a trip last year and I could barely put it down. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the first few pages take a while to draw you in but then it's so beautiful and riveting you have to finish it. It's one of the few books I've kept after reading because I'd like to read it again some day. Usually once I've read something once I'm happy to pass it along. It's easily one of the best books I've ever read.

If you find it hard to read the first few pages, just continue. This is the most beautiful book I have ever read. If you liked The Book Thief or The Pianist, this is right up in that alley. Keep a box of tissues next to you.... :)
