For me, the hairs on this were incredibly scratchy, which may be a sign of cheap wool. The material content was actually about 30% alpaca wool and 70% acrylic, which was not what was indicated on websites. New scarves tend to be quite soft - over time, it does become more coarse and unruly.
On the bright side it is relatively inexpensive, yet warm. If you are not overly sensitive to wool products, this might not be a bad option to keep toasty in the winter.
