Purchased Two and Both Failed

Not sure what I'm doing wrong but this does not stay sharp. I purchased 2 of them too and both did the same thing. When you twist the cap, it's supposed to sharpen the pencil and raise it....all mine did were go flush with the plastic so there is no pencil showing after 2-3 uses - - on both of them I purchased! I think I may have to call the company to complain. The twist failed on both!
