Might try it again.
This was okay, I haven't found a Mac and Cheese yet that I absolutely love yet. I will buy it again until I find one that has a bit more flavor to it.
Better than KD
I like this Mac and cheese and felt it was definitely better than KD in taste and texture but I added some protein to it. After all it is just mac and cheese. I’d probably buy it again but would prefer to make my own if given the chance
Not our favourite but not the worst
Though my children devoured this no problem,it definitely isn't a family favourite. The flavour isn't very strong and following directions, it came out a little soft and soupy.
I would choose this over a processed brand but it wouldn't be my first Annie's choice.
Not so cheesy...
Neither of my kids liked the Annie's Homegrown Classic Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese. My son made me wash all of the sauce off because he didn't like the taste of it. My husband is a big mac and cheese fan, and he didn't like it either. We didn't think that it tasted very cheesy, and I found the sauce was very runny. I would not buy this product.
Rich and zesty
The cheddar mac and cheese was rich and had kind of a zesty taste. It didnt seem to heavy or have a fake powder taste. It was enjoyed by everyone in the family with no complains what so ever
Good hype, nice box
I really am only comparing this to KD as there is not really another main brand.
For the price alone I would not buy this (KD got mad expensive too). But as it was free we happily ate it - I added a titch more milk to it than recommended and the texture was good, the flavour was alright and I like the different varieties.
Not worth the extra cost
I love KD and grew up eating it. And I still love it to this day. Everything in moderation is fine!
I thought Annie's version tasted fine, but I still like KD better...maybe it's the nostalgia? My son enjoyed it though, but I would think say he has the most discerning palate :) He did rave about the white cheddar shells though!
I got to try this for free as part of the Family Rated club in exchange for my honest opinion.
Not worth the added cost
I received Annie's macaroni and cheese free from Family Rated in exchange for my review.
I would not puchase Annie's macaroni and cheese in the future because I just can't justify the added cost. Boxed Mac and cheese is something you buy occasionally to supplement meals for a quick fix. But why spend the extra money on something that you can just make yourself fairly easily? Besides that, the name brand or store brand version of this Mac and cheese is honestly not that bad, ingredient wise. They're made with real cheese as well. And true, it's not organic, but everything in moderation, right?
The taste is comparable to regular Mac and cheese. Though I wish the sauce was thicker. And thankfully the orange cheese didn't taste chalky like the white version did by the same company.
I do wish they'd have larger size boxes for all Macs and cheese. It would be nice to have the option to buy a larger box to more realistically feed several people, rather than having to use 2 boxes.
Not for us
I made the cheese one and didn’t inform my children that it was different than our usual brand. My 7 year old dove in and quickly turned to me and gave me the what did you feed me look . Shortly after my 2 year old spit it out. While I was hopeful that they would love it as it’s a much healthier alternative. It’s a no go in my household.
