A friend of mine introduced me to this game in college and I've got to say, after my first time playing it I was hooked. It's a super fun game to play either with friends you've known for years or as an icebreaker game with people you may not know so well.

I have played Apples to Apples many times over the years and have to echo what others have said. It is a wonderful party game!

    * you can include an almost unlimited number of people in the game (although I'd suggest limiting it at 10-12)
    * there is very little explanation or learning time required, nor is there any real strategy involved. A new player picks it up in no time flat!
    * it stimulates creative thought, and has been (unofficially?) endorsed by Mensa (the high IQ club)
    * no two games are alike, especially with a mix of participants. You could use this game for years and never get sick of it.
    * despite the size of the box, it's basically just a card game - take it on the road or fit it in a small closet - there are no pieces/dice or gameboards to stow.

The only downside to this game is that it caters to the social crowd and can be a bit of a "thinker" if you take it in that direction. If you hated (and I don't mean "are now sick of") Pictionary or Cranium, this might not be for you. Strategists might get a little verklempt that it quickly gets very silly and raucous, so go ahead and play your online chess while the rest of us hoot and holler in the den ;)

Lots of fun! I recommend it :)

I've been to numerous gatherings recently, and we've always ended up playing this game--people love it! It's casual enough not to get too competitive (unlike Risk or Monopoly), and it's also really social. It certainly gets my vote!

This is a very fun game! The cards are very fun to read, and some of them are absolutely hilarious. They also have some things I didn't know before reading them. It's very fun to see the creative answers people give in relation to the topic -- and sometimes hilarious, because you can tell when people don't have any cards that relate to the topic at all.

Personally, I think it is a good game to get to know other people and get an idea of how they think.

Normally I read reviews of products, but have never taken the time to write one myself, but I felt compelled to do so about Apples to Apples...

I purchased a copy recently for my family since we frequently entertain. Our house is something of a drop in for friends and family alike.

We keep many games in the house for such a reason. Many classics and several party games.

Two weeks ago I broke out Apples to Apples for a fiesta night and it was truly the most fun we have had with a game. It was easy to learn and moves at a brisk pace.

Within a few minutes we were laughing hysterically and having a great time. I can't recommend this game enough. www.playyourredcard.com is a good resource to learn about the game if you've not yet tried it and want to investigate before splashing out your thirty bucks.

I suspect we will be getting a great deal of use out of Apples to Apples during the coming holiday break.

    Hope this helps!!
