I loved these waters! Disclaimer, first, I guess - I already drink a lot of artificially-sweetened beverages (I like diet sodas and Crystal LIght and stuff), so perhaps I"m used to an 'artificial' taste, but I didn't find these to taste artificial at all, especially compared to other Splenda-flavoured products. I received three flavours to try... the Fuji Apple Pear, Strawberry Lemonade and Blackberry - my favourite was the Blackberry (delicious and thirst-quenching), but I liked all 3. Because I already drink a lot of diet soda and I'm trying to cut back, I think I"m going to start buying these to 'wean' me off of the carbonated stuff. Not only are these more delicious than pop, they are way healthier, and the price is only slightly higher. I feel much less guilty drinking these than other calorie-reduced products, and they taste even better than anything else I've tried (and I've tried lots). A lot of 'waters' on the market these days have so much sugar in them, and I really like the fact that these don't. To me, they make water worth drinking!
I received three flavours to review: Fuji Apple Pear, Strawberry Lemonade and Blackberry. First things first, I'm a big water drinker so I was excited at the possibility of getting my daily water in-take in the form of a slightly flavoured drink.
I found that all three had a slightly artificial taste and were overly sweet, especially Fuji Apple Pear. I do like that I can get my vitamins and water intake at the same time, but I would not purchase these on a regular basis. I would prefer a more lightly flavoured and much less sweet drink, or else, sweeten my drinks myself.
I was able to try the 3 different flavors of the new Aquafina Plus Vitamins. Normally i dont like flavored waters because the taste is either too bland or too artificially sweet. But when i tried it, i felt that it was okay in terms of taste, compared to other flavoured waters ive tried. The sweetness was okay and did not leave a potent aftertaste. But for the price, I wouldnt, buy this unless it was on sale for like a dollar.
Thanks to the Product Review Club, I got to try this for free! I don't usually drink diet drinks cause I really don't like the taste of artificial sweeteners but this one was pretty good. It has a bit of an artificial sweetener aftertaste but it's not too noticeable. And I like the variety of flavours. The one thing I didn't like was that I actually found it to be too sweet. I was expecting more of a watery fruit flavour but instead it's much more like a really sweet fake juice taste. I might have one every now and then as a treat when I am tired of water but it's not something I see myself drinking on a regular basis.
Thanks to Chickadvisor, I was sent 6 bottles of the Aquafina Plus Vitamins 10 Calorie water for review purposes. This vitamin enhanced water is flavored with Stevia, which is a natural sweetner, so it's not loaded with sugars, hence the low calorie outcome. In terms of vitamins, it contains a wide range of them, including vitamins C, E, B, etc... some of which are antioxidants. Therefore, I appreciate the healthy approach of this product, but that is all pushed aside when I consider the taste, which to me is a major part of whether or not I will purchase this.
The flavors I received were: Strawberry Lemonade, Fugi Apple Pear and Black Blue Berry. In order to enjoy all three flavors at their best, you need to refrigerate them and drink them chilled. The colder they are, the better they taste. However, I also tried tasting them at room temperature and I didn't enjoy the outcome. I found them to be overly sweet and they had an aftertaste that really could not make me finish drinking the entire bottle. At times, I got the taste of a powdery substance in my mouth, despite shaking the bottle prior to drinking. Some flavors were worse than others. The Black Blue Berry was my least favorite as I felt it tasted like cherry cough syrup, which I hate. The Strawberry Lemonade wasn't entirely awful, but it didn't taste much of lemonade. The Fugi Apple Pear was by far my favorite out of the three. It tasted like apple juice, so I found it easier to drink and it also left the least amount of aftertaste in my mouth.
I'm assuming this aftertaste and powdery feeling was caused by the Stevia sweetner. I would maybe suggest they use a little less of it if they are looking for a way to improve their product. Another downside is that it's not always possible to refrigerate your water, for instance if you're at school or the gym. Therefore, you won't get the best taste out of this product at all times.
On the plus side, I liked the packaging the water came in. It's brightly colored and the shape of the bottle is interesting. The bottles caps were easy to open as well, which is usually an issue when it comes to bottled water. The plastic used is very sturdy as well.
I don't think I would consider purchasing this water in the future, since the taste didn't really appeal to me. I would rather just take a multivitamin instead.
I never liked the taste of Aquafina's regular water, but I loved Aquafina plus vitamins 10 cal.! The flavours were great, and reading other reviews, I can't wait to try the other flavours that I did not receive!
Thanks so much for sending these for me to review. I must say, I really enjoyed all of them along with my boys. I found all the drinks to be on the sweeter side but I found it pleasant regardless. They had much more flavor then I had expected from a flavored water and didn't have that dry feeling that sweetened juices tend to leave. It was very smooth and quite refreshing and definitely thirst quenching.
The Fuji Apple Pear was probably my favorite of the three. It had a nice fruity taste that was very sweet but still delicious. I kept going back for more. I think it tasted more like apples then the pears, but again didn't have the dry feeling in the throat that can be left by ex. apple juice. Very smooth and addicting.
The Black and Blue berry would be my next preferred. I found this one tasted more like blueberries but only subtly. I find blueberry and black berry juices can be very tart or strong, but having the slight flavoring on water made it much more pleasant and quite enjoyable.
The Strawberry Lemonade wasn't bad but it's not a flavor I would buy regularly. I found it didn't have any taste of strawberry at all and just tasted like a very sweetened lemonade. It still had the tartness to it but on a much lesser scale then juice would.
Overall they were all delicious in their own way and some more then others. I will definitely buy the Fuji Apple Pear one again, it was my favorite by far.
Being that I am pregnant, I am always on the lookout for drinks that will not only help me get the vitamins I need...but will also quench my thirst and taste amazing. I was sent the Black & Blue Berry, Strawberry Lemonade, and Fuji Apple Pear all to try out. I had my husband test with me to see what he thought as well. With so many other Vitamin drinks out there...this one really didn't stand out!!! I was very excited about the Strawberry Lemonade one...and to my surprise, it didn't taste much like Lemonade at all. :( Plus...you need to make sure you are drinking these ICE COLD!!! As soon as they start to warm up the flavour becomes very fake! All in all...a decent drink if there is nothing else around. I won't go out of my way to purchase them though!
I generally don't like Aquafina or vitamin waters because both seem to have a really nasty aftertaste. But I LOVE the Fuji Apple Pear flavour. I could probably drink it every day and not get bored. I love that there are only 10 calories and that it's not flavoured with aspartame. You get water, flavour and vitamins in one bottle, you really can't go wrong.
I did hate the Strawberry Lemonade flavour, it tasted really watered down. Other than that, I'd buy this for sure.
Thanks ChickAdvisor for sending me six bottles of Aquafina Plus Vitamins 10 Cal Water to try. I received three flavours: Black & Blue Berry, Strawberry Lemonade, and Fuji Apple Pear. This drink is beneficial to those who have forgotten to take their daily multivitamin and those who want a guilt-free flavoured drink. This drink does not contain a variety of vitamins for a healthy diet so taking a multivitamin is necessary! A bottle (591mL) contains some of our Daily Recommended Intake (DRI) of Vitamin Bs but satisfies most of our necessary intake of Vitamin C and Vitamin E. The mere 10 calories can easily burnt off.
The first one I tried was Black & Blue berry; the first sip filled my mouth with a wonderful, ice cold, sweet berry taste. However the pleasure was short lived because the drink is sweetened with Stevia quickly left an unpleasant, tingly, and bitter aftertaste. Thank goodness Aquafina used concentrated fruit juices to sweeten the drink as well, I can’t image how awful the drink would be if the product was sweetened with Stevia alone.
To my disappointment, the tanginess and citrus flavours were completely absent in the Strawberry Lemonade drink. It tasted more like a refreshing smooth Starbucks’ Creamy Strawberry frappuccino, but without the full-bodied flavours. The Fuji Apple Pear had the best flavour out of all 3. This flavour was tasty and has an amazing exotic tropical taste. I would not purchase or recommend the Black & Blue berry and Strawberry Lemonade flavours to anyone. I would recommend the Fuji Apple Pear flavour for those who are intrigued in trying a low calorie vitamin water.
